Denise's Parrot Place Mercer Island, Washington

Very disappointed in my experience. The man working at the desk is very condescending and rude. He interrogates you on your experience with birds. What is his point? They lost a sale that day and will not go back. He gave conflicting information that was different than what the female said over the phone. We ended up going to Wings of the World in Bothell and they were very professional and kind.

1. Thank you for not clipping your birds. 2. The place was clean and the birds were well cared for! 3. Amazing staff. Knowledgeable, Kind, Social, and Diligent. 4. Absolutely loved the variety and availability of the birds present. 5. Aratinga Party!! Honestly, I'm really impressed with the place. I will happily come back. I forgot to ask if they can ship the wooden stand perches. Those were awesome!

Back in May of 2021 our daughter picked out a cockatiel. This was the third bird for her. And yes the other birds are alive and well. The oldest being 2. Anyways the bird she picked ended up being sick and was put down so they offered another bird. Well its been a little over 3 months and she passed away. There is a 3 day health guarantee. And we are out. We will never purchase a bird from Denise's Parrot Place!

I was at this place long time ago I would give it 5 stars cause I love birds as well the staff are very professional at there job and are more of a chill type of staff instead of super serious

Overpriced as it should be. Great store, lots of birds and supplies, pretty much anything you could need.

Really care for their birds, and are very knowledgeable about them. Will help you get setup (cage, toys, etc.) for your new bird as they require a 3 visit minimum once you have decided on your bird and there's no pressure or sales tactics. They honestly want their little guys and girls to go to forever, loving and healthy homes. The food they sell for the birds is top rate and very healthy. They board as well, and I'll definitely use them to take care of our birds, anytime.

We brought home our beautiful Opaline Quaker Parrot from this place and I would give this store endless stars if I could! The staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about their birds and you can tell they are very well taken care of. Will visit again for sure! ????????????

Staff kind but do not care about the well being of birds the grab their birds with towels and catch them with nets which can be harmful to the parrot

Very clean. The store takes cleanliness serious. We had to wash hands before handling and they have an aviary to meet the birds. The staff seemed knowledgeable and will help educate you on how to take care of your pet. I usually don't purchase any animal from a "pet store", but I will definitely recommend this place for birds.

They really love birds and take care of them well.yes,salesman has his strong personality,try to be funny but sometimes the jokes is not too funny...I don’t mind because I was here to looking for the bird not him...price is not cheap but hand-fed birds they have are well trained ,I love my parrot that I got from Denise Parrot Place.

2020/ Finally visited this shop first time this week, I met marc & he was busy feeding the baby birds in the back but when he was done he was able to answer ask my questions. he is knowledgeable and loves birds he has one himself he stated. the birds are beautiful and the babies are sweet! ???? just moved out here and will be back for visits !!! looking to get my first parrot ???? but WARNING ⚠️ they are pricey... 2019/ Reading all these negative & extremely devastating reviews about the shops employees is SOO upsetting for someone who always cared & love all animals . ???? ♥️????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????❣️ I am disgusted to whoever the owner is who actually allows these employees for months of continuation of the same highly Unprofessional manners. You should be QUICK to stop them & manage those behaviors AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !!! ???? If not Fire those awful human beings !! HOW DARE FOR THEM to even step foot into a pet shop??!! Those people belong in either cleaning the feces of the pets if not stay in the streets!! ???? ???????????????????? Just moved down West Seattle from New York City, I was planning to drive by to the top bird shop near me, this shop popped up as excited I was I was petrified within seconds of reading the top recent reviews, which I do often to every store I’m not familiar with. Will not be judging this 100% so I give 1 star for those that actually said they had some good experiences depending who is working on that day. I will call in and judge them by the call with their education and customer service manners. I’m looking to buy a pet bird for a friends birthday, Depending on my visit I’ll make my choice then. But right now they still deserve the 1 Star ⭐️ for bad management and horrible team mates at a pet shop, who say such dreadful things about animals to loving pet owners!!! ???? ???? ????

I called and they said for a cockatiel the ones that have orange cheeks cost 330 or more depending on the color and I researched in Google how much they suppose to cost, they cost 120 to 200 and im like were not buying a dog

The quality of life for the birds in the store is miserable. The toucan was kept in a cage that barely allowed room to fly, broke my heart to see those birds there. The salesperson wasn't any good either.

The man working here, older gentleman was absolutely horrible. Literally screaming at people before he helped me, and was putting his hands and fingers in my face in an aggressive manner and being very condescending. Then told another women that had apparently been in multiple times because another coworker of his “ wasn’t doing his job” and he was “tired of seeing her face” Literally some of the worst customer service I’ve ever received. The birds are absolutely lovely but just off this mans treatment towards me I had to walk out. Reading the comments above I realize I’m Not the only person he treats this way. This man should not be working around other humans and especially not birds.

It was a horrible experience. I went there and the salesman was very rough with the birds and agitating them. He let me hold one and immediately the bird bit me hard. It scared me. I wouldn't go there.

Go here for the Knowledge and experience that they provide. Birds are bred by breeders not captured and imported. Do go for rehoming rather than breeding.

Decent store with a variety of toys and parrot supplies. Perhaps a bit on the expensive side, but since bird supplies aren't the easiest to find, I can overlook that. What I can't overlook is the condescension from the guy working there. He was helpful in some respects, but nearly everything I said he had to disparage in some way. This included belittling my opinions, correcting (or trying to correct) nearly everything I said, even statements that were correct he would try to split hairs to contradict them in some way. This would be extremely annoying and bothersome behavior from someone you meet on the street...but to be talked to like this as a customer? No thanks.
