I was on maybe my 5th call to another vet clinic to try to get my dog in for surgery for a torn CCL. Although they told me they didn't have a surgeon on staff they recommended me to Jeff Mayo. I called, he answered right away and answered my questions. The next night I emailed after hours and he responded promptly. I booked the consultation and surgery together and he spent a good 45 minutes going over the different options for treatment with me. Because he didn't have a kit for the type of surgery we decided to go with he offered for me to come back next week when he would be at the clinic again. I told him I live 3 hrs away and next week wouldn't work so he offered to come in the next day to the Renton Clinic to do the surgery.... on his day off! Jeff went out of his way to do what was best for my dog and to accommodate me. My dog is almost 3 weeks post surgery and she's already walking pretty well. I highly highly recommend Jeff!

My three dogs have had some good vets in their lifetime, but hands down, Dr Mayo is GREATNESS! My first fur baby had stem cell surgery and a huge tumor on his shoulder removed, my 2nd fur baby had his broken hip repaired and a growth in his ear removed, and my 3rd fur baby had a mass removed from under his foot and plasma injection in his elbow... all performed by Dr Mayo. Their speedy recovery was amazing. The first time I called Dr Mayo’s office, he immediately returned my call. His prompt response and ability to squeeze my dog into surgery for his medical emergency won over my trust and gave me a great peace of mind. What blew my mind was his call back after surgery... it wasn’t a receptionist calling me back to let me know surgery went well... it was the Doctor himself! I was able to ask whatever questions I had left post surgery. To top it off, the surgery bill did not break the bank... not even close. I obtained quotes from other vets, Dr Mayo’ surgery bill was more manageable than the vet they had insurance thru. I am thankful for Dr Mayo’s skill, precision, dedication and compassion for my boys. He is a miracle!

You guys asked me to update my review, which I will do. I only became aware of your response after I was contacted by a lawyer who is suing you for your misrepresentations regarding your qualifications. I learned for the first time that you are not board-certified to operate on pets. I am happy to report that we will not be suing you, as he suggested. But my contact with him DID cause me to look for the first time at your response to my review. Accordingly, and for the benefit of anyone who cares, your assistant (who clearly writes your responses) misrepresented our interaction. You DID perform a surgery that failed on our bulldog. I stand 100% behind my previous writings. Good luck, and watch out for those plaintiff's lawyers.

One in a thousand. Literally. Our two-month old Pomeranian pup fractured and dislocated his front leg while playing with his big sisters in the yard, as confirmed by X-ray. The first quote we were given was five to seven thousand dollars to insert pins into and set the leg. We aren't of meager means but that is a large pill to swallow for anyone. We called around town and were disappointed to find that while seven thousand dollars was on the high end, the low end wasn't much better at four thousand dollars. We requested electronic copies of our x-rays and got to work calling and e-mailing them to anyone who would take them. We made a list of every vet, surgeon and hospital within 250 miles of Everett and got to work. We called *literally* hundreds of offices, veterinarian colleges and hospitals, all to no avail. Then we found Jeff. He was *AMAZING* and right from the beginning he assured us he would take care of our puppy. He communicated directly with us via e-mail through the entire process and afterwards which we loved. For those of you who don't know, Jeff is a traveling surgeon. He travels around and performs surgeries at vet offices all across the sound. Without the overhead and other constraints that come with a brick and mortar clinic, Jeff beats the rest on every front including price! Now; don't let the travelling part make you think that he is providing anything less than the best care for your animal. Jeff has operated clinics in the past, has decades of experience and found being a mobile vet was best for him AND his furry patients. He was communicative, prompt, friendly, affordable and personable just to throw out a few adjectives for the google algos. We had the surgery and after care such as X-rays and follow-up visits performed at Greenwood Veterinarian Hospital. Their pricing and care was also stellar coming in at less than half of what the Mill Creek Veterinarian Hospital charged us for the same service. We also saved a bit more by pulled the stitches ourselves but my wife is a nurse and we also give our animals shots and vaccinations ourselves, so this is best left to someone who knows what they are doing. We are forever grateful to Jeff Mayo and his right hand vet tech, Courtney Wilson (RVT) for the care and compassion they provided for our furry friend and us. We recommend him to all of our family and friends. If you are looking for a surgeon who cares, stop and look no further as you are lucky enough to have stumbled across the best. Thank you Jeff and Courtney. Thank you from our family to yours, Mike, Colleen and Toto

Jeff Mayo booked a TPLO surgery at my hospital today at 8:30 am. My client arrived on time with her dog and when we hadn't heard from Jeff by 8:15 I text him to find out when he was arriving. He text back: "Probably not going to make it in time. Starting an emergency in Issaquah and having equipment issues. Can we reschedule next week?" Jeff never showed up at my hospital. This is completely unprofessional. I would never let a colleague down like this and with no communication whatsoever. My tech drove 2 hours to work just for this surgery.

Dr Mayo and his assistant, Nicole, are the best you could ever hope for when looking to care for your furry family members. They always make themselves available and have this magical way of reassuring us when necessary. We love that Dr Mayo and his staff are always involved in the latest research and can make it available to us when needed...and it has been needed!!

Dr. Mayo was contacted by my wife concerning our English Bulldog, Winston. Dr. Mayo represented that he could fly to Alaska- where we live- at our expense and examine and possibly operate upon our dog, in the hope that he could improve his breathing difficulties. He told us that he could operate on Winston locally if needed. After examining our dog, Mayo informed us that he could improve Winston’s breathing with a surgery. Unfortunately, he had never thought to inform us that he was NOT licensed in Alaska, and that no clinic would allow him to operate here. As a result of this oversite/misrepresentation we were taxed with the cost of flying Dr. Mayo AND HIS ASSISTANT to Anchorage and back to Seattle, plus hotel accommodations. His attempt to practice veterinary medicine without a proper license cost us around $2000. We also decided, at Dr. Mayo’s suggestion, to fly Winston to Seattle to undergo surgery with Dr. Mayo. Winston died from the surgery, which is unfortunate. I was disappointed by Dr. Mayo’s obvious failure to read Winston’s previous records. Dr. Mayo breathlessly informed me after the surgery that he had “discovered” that Winston’s core problem was a small trachea- a fact that I had known for 3 years and was plainly evident to anyone taking even a few minutes to read his previous records. I can only imagine that, had Dr. Mayo taken the time to learn this fact prior to the surgery he might have decided against operating on Winston, since I have been told previously that surgeries on dogs suffering with Winston's trachea were inherently dangerous. At any rate, Winston began suffering with distressed breathing soon after the surgery– just as he had after previous surgeries. The difference this time is that Dr. Mayo made no effort to establish an airway until after calling me to tell me that Winston was probably going to die. Soon after we talked and I inquired regarding the placement of a tracheostomy, Dr. Mayo called me back and happily informed me that they had established an airway, and that Winston was breathing easier. I have no way of knowing how much damage Winston's already compromised respiratory system suffered as he struggled to get wind through his surgically damaged throat before this "specialist” established an airway-which is the most basic task for any medical professional when faced with a patient that cannot breathe. As I stated earlier, Winston died hours later, after my wife flew to Seattle to be at his side. I wish that I could say that Dr. Mayo and his staff were finished hurting my family at that stage. However, after my wife placed an unfavorable review on Dr. Mayo's clinic’s Google business page, Dr. Mayo and his staff maliciously searched out my law firm's Google page and placed a retaliatory negative review of my firm, despite having never engaged me or my firm for any reason. Their sole reason for placing this specious review was to hurt my wife for her negative review. Obviously, such juvenile and unprofessional actions reflect poorly on Dr. Mayo's profession. I contacted Dr. Mayo and asked him to address his assistant's review of my law firm. His refusal to address this situation is, of course, tacit approval and ratification of his staff's actions. I know that an attorney who condones vindictive and false actions by his staff is subject to discipline. I see no reason that a different sort of professional should not be held the same high standard.

Dr. Mayo and his technician Nicole have been an absolute pleasure to care for my pets alongside my regular Vet in California. It is wonderful to be able to have a specialist that is able to fly into various states where he is licensed to attend to pets. Nicole and Dr. Mayo are easy to reach and will go above and beyond to take care of your pets. They are slightly more expensive with certain procedures; but not everything, but when they are available virtually 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; it pays for itself. Thank you both for being there for us when we need you. You truly care about pets

Very well-intentioned, but overconfident - at least with regard to my English Bulldog's breathing problems. Winston passed away due to surgical complications. Quick f/u to my original review - Dr Mayo's assistant (and girlfriend) retaliated to my having left this legitimate review by leaving a negative review for my husband's law firm - even though she never met my husband or used the services of the firm.
