Hawks Prairie Veterinary Hospital Lacey, Washington

We have been going to Hawk's Prairie Vet Hospital for over five years and their caring and professional services are the best. Our fur babies are usually well cared for, and we know and trust the doctors and staff. But, one of the kids has a heart problem and needs a medication from a compounding pharmacy. They sent the prescription to a pharmacy in Phoenix, Arizona! We are in Olympia, WA. Searching for a compounding pharmacy closer, I found one in Olympia, and we have started using them. I decided to get his other prescription there as well. It required a written script, so last week we got it and took to the compounding pharmacy. What we did not know, they CHANGED his prescription and did not tell us. The pharmacy cannot get one ingredient. Since Hawk's Prairie had been filling this particular prescription monthly, I went back to Hawk's Prairie only to be told they cannot do that because they changed the prescription and the new ingredient is not available. We are almost out of this medicine and require it refilled. After years of great service and support, it appears there are issues at Hawk's Prairie.

Been with them since 1997, I think, and have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Dr. Jo Wescott has been my boy's doctor, but in emergencies, any of the doctors shined through! Such a dedicated staff, and there for me! That says a lot, too, being there for me...will never change!

They don't take new patients. I cried and said my dog is going to die and the receptionist said yep. . SHE SAID YEP....

I have 3 dogs, all with very different personalities. My middle one was a little reactive for a while and who could blame him after 2 years of panosteitis, a 3 month break from agonizing pain, then a complete ccl tear a long wait for his TPLO, a pseodomonas infection that we thought we'd treated, but lingered for 2.5 years. , a second torn ccl a year after the first, a second TPLO. We all thought all was well until horrific abscesses started emerging from the site of his first TPLO, he needed a 3rd surgery. We also finally figured out the right allergy meds to prevent ear infections. Now Aidan is so calm and sweet . My oldest dog is in love with Dr Westcott and the youngest thinks it's a social outing to go to the vet. The staff knows my dogs and me and the dogs get the best and prompt care. We love HPVet.

I love Hawks Prairie Vet they are always so wonderful to work with even when they are busy. Dr. Jo always gives us amazing care. We all love her. :)

Excellent care, especially good on follow-up. Took the time to discuss my cat’s complicated problems in ways I could understand. They really care about their patients!

Always professional and super in love with animals--they sit on the floor with my dog while they do examinations! These folks are great.

On our last visit, I was so impressed with the staff. They were able to clip our very anxious dog’s nails. I have tried everything to clip them but just could not. Dr. Westcott and the techs were so gentle and caring. The pandemic has been pretty tough on our dogs but the staff here made us feel so welcome.

Since they opened they have taken care of all Horowitz babies. From puppies to grown to heart breaking end of life. Same with our kitties. I cannot ask for a better team of big hearted smart people. My dogs love to go. All 3 shepherds never look back. Bye mom and dad our friends are here. We were adopted by a big old Tom this summer. He went in became an ex Tom and also was super chill liked everyone. Knowing your family member is treated like their family immediately, means everything. I've brought multiple generations of my family pack to Hawks Prairie for their immunizations, check ups, and when needed, their final good bye. We are always treated with kindness, professionalism, and I have no doubt that we are receiving the utmost in standard of care. The services offered at this clinic are broad and outstanding. They can take care of so many of our needs in one place. Dr Wescot and the staff there are compassionate and I wouldn't imagine taking my pack anywhere else.

We have been going to Dr. Kim Martin for about 25 years. She has cared for our puppies and our old dogs at end of life. She has always treated our dogs as if they were her own. She shows compassion and understanding when we have needed it the most. We feel so fortunate to have Dr. Martin as our vet.

The facility is beautiful. I have consistently had good experiences here. The last time I brought my cat in we came for a routine annual exam and vaccines. But Dr. Lisa found something unusual. Even though she was busy and this was unexpected she took the time to take x-rays, consult a colleague, review the results with me, follow up with blood work and urinalysis, and walk me through the next steps. I really appreciated the way she took such thorough care of my pet.

I have been very happy with taking my cats to this veterinary clinic. At this time you have a choice to sit in your car and have the tech come out and get your pet or you can go in. So far all the staff have been great and they call ahead if they have questions and follow up after a vaccination or proceedure. Very professional. Highly recommend!

I've been going to Hawks Prairie Vet (specifically Dr. Westcott) for well over 10 years. These people are amazing with my dogs and me. My rescues all had/have significant personality issues and they have been amazing at working with them to give my pups the best care and a great vet experience.
