We have 2 small, older dogs that we took to them to see why they were hurting, etc. After thousands of dollars, we still don't know what is wrong with them. Bone cancer, maybe? We don't know why your dog is acting like that? Really? Over priced and they only love the money and don't care about your pets.

They took my dog and left me waiting in a room for 45 minutes only to tell me the doctor still wasn't there. Total time at the vets was a little under an hour and a half for an ear infection and a small rash.

Unfortunately I had to put my English Bulldog down. The staff made me feel like they were going through it with me. I can't say enough good things about everyone there. I had to decide what & how I wanted his ashes. My daughter was on facetime crying and said she wanted his paw print. Anysia came in the room & told me she purchased a1 of the 2 paw prints for my daughter. That was such an act of kindness at a very difficult time for me & my daughter. Thank you Anysia for being such a wonderful person. Thank you to the entire staff for giving me all the time with my poor pup. Everyone was amazing.

I won't be back. Very abrupt and rudely interupts every time that I speak to try to explain what is going on with my dog. My dog is important and when I have something to say, about her care, I beleive it is important for them to accept my input. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Recently had to put our 15yr cat down. The staff here were so helpful, understanding, and compassionate. The level of professionalism and care for all our pets is top notch.

My recent visit at VCA Silver Lake was a very welcoming flash from the past, where business care about their clients. I cannot say enough positive about VCA Silver Lake, from the warm receptive person answering my first phone call, the ability to actually walk into their business and talk to a real person. I was allowed to talk (in-person) to the vet-tech as she carefully listened to my concerns regarding my pet, soon the veterinarian came into the exam room, she too was very gentle and responsive. I could tell there was communication between the vet-tech and the veterinarian before she came into the exam room, preventing me from endlessly repeating my concerns and reason for the visit. The veterinarian thoroughly examined my pet, she described the condition, prescribed a medication and took enough time to make sure I knew how to give the medication to my pet.

I took my dog here due to an abscess on her neck. They were able to get me right in which was good and the doctor felt this was a dire matter that required cytology testing. I was told test results would be back in 2-3 days. I waited 5 days and heard nothing so I called and was told the doctor would call me to go over results. I heard nothing. I called back after 7 days and was told the same thing....crickets. After 9 days I called and told them to email the results to me and that I would be taking her to a different vet and not returning to their office. Later that evening the doctor finally called and left me a message. I have never felt so dismissed or like my pet did not matter at all. The last vet we went to was a very busy office and still made a follow up call after every appointment to see how my pet was doing. I never got anything that resembled a caring experience at all at VCA in Silverlake. This appointment was also around $500 so even if it boiled down to money, it was surely spent. I cannot express enough how much I would discourage anyone from using this vet

After being angry bringing my Boston Sadie there I was upset at first. She came home worse but it wasn't their fault. She was almost 15 and it was time. The staff is so great there! Putting a dog down you've had her whole life sucks! As much as it hurt I thank Lisa the incredible staff there.!❤

Don’t come here unless you want them to tell you somethings wrong with your cats eye and that they need medication only for them to turn around and say they got my cat confused with another one. They said they were going to do an eye test on my kitty and I’m afraid they might’ve done something extremely unnecessary and stressful for my cat. They will confuse your cat with another patient, so be careful!

This review is exclusive for the Grooming side ONLY. The VCA itself has been great but I've never had such a bad grooming experience in my entire life so I had to write a review. My dog returned completely covered in his own hair. I started to pull some out and found that his entire body just had a ton of loose hair. It was as if none of it was removed (which I thought was part of the grooming, correct me if I'm wrong). I began to pull MULTIPLE LARGE SIZED clumps while outside and decided to go inside to at least get one photo of these clumps. His carrier that we gave them was also completely COVERED in his hair. I spent about half an hour cleaning it out. The two positive result of the grooming was the nail clipping was done well and his ears seem to be clean. This does not make up for the fact that this grooming was not properly completed. My wife was able to call and get half of the grooming cost off, while the manager tried to gilt trip her (which I did not like to hear either). We paid for a service that was incomplete and improperly done. You either do something well or communicate that you are unable to. Attached will be a photo of one of MANY clumps of hair I took off my 22 pound dog. This is well after I spent 10 minutes outside brushing him out. We will not be using the VCA's grooming service and if there is a way to exclusively review the grooming service please tell me and I will send this review that way. We are also considering going to another vet entirely since if this is the quality of service we got I'm not sure I feel comfortable having my dog taken here.

I took my cat in the early afternoon on a Monday due to ongoing vomiting and diarrhea. I received a call at about 3:15pm that day and spoke with the doctor about tests that could be performed on my cat, and I decided to go with xrays and change over his food to a prescription diet to help with digestion. I was told xrays would take 24-48 hours to be reviewed. It is now about 96 hours later and I have not received any word on my cats xrays. I have called 2 times checking on status about this. I understand the doctors are busy, but when you pay over $300 just for xrays and are given a time frame, that time frame should be met. I am very dissatisfied with this but fortunately my cat is better now. Other people may not be so fortunate and might be relying on imaging/testing to be processed and reviewed to save their pet's life. The nursing staff is very friendly and understanding. They are great and a pleasure to work with. I will be looking for other vets to bring my cat to in the future.

This is a good hospital, and after visiting them and a particular veterinarian at that clinic a number of times over the past couple of years with both a cat and a dog (both requiring additional attention above and beyond the scope of this facility), I had overall been pleased with their services and staff. I am now disappointed, however, and after nearly 2 months, still need to share my experience. I returned to the weekend vet at this facility for my little aging 15-year-old dog when he started developing kidney and liver issues. During the treatment process over a few months, this particular veterinarian was very good about contacting me regarding the condition of my dog, recommending and suggesting additional treatments, and asking me to keep him apprised of any further developments. Impressive, right? Well, my dog's issues became a bit worse late Sunday evening, and first thing Monday I made an appointment to take him in asap to assess what had developed. (The vet I had been going to only works the weekends.) Because of Covid, I was not able to go in with my dog during the appointment, and waited in the car. I received a call from the attending vet that my little dog was having seizures, and suggested it was time to put him down. I was allowed in the room at that time to spend a final moment with him (during which he had an absolutely horrible seizure); I held him while we put him to sleep. It was heartbreaking. Afterward, the staff was kind and while I paid the bill, I asked that they please let the regular veterinarian know of my dog's passing, anticipating that he would call and certainly offer condolences since we had worked together over several months. Even the staff person I spoke with agreed that he would probably call me. Nope - not a word. I waited until the weekend, thinking that the message had not yet been conveyed to him; I called on Saturday, no call-back, and then again on Sunday. Sunday, the staff member let him know I was on the line, and returned to me with a rather short, snippy attitude (I'm confident relayed by the vet). OK...message read loud & clear! I then tried to call the Office Manager early in the week to see if this was normal behavior for this vet. They were busy that day, and I did not receive a call-back. I did receive a call back from her the following day while I was at work; by that time, I gave up, and had decided that I would write this review. In summary, I do not feel as positive about this hospital as I had been over the last couple of years. I was considering transferring my records from my regular vet of 12 years, as that clinic is now so busy it's difficult to get in; after this experience, I won't be doing so. We will probably continue to use this VCA Animal Hospital in the future for emergency care, as I do feel their veterinary care is good, and we have 4 remaining aging animals who will need care in the future. The lack of response from the vet who originally worked with my dog has left me with the feeling that the "care" part is extended as far as the billing. Although I may return in the future to this clinic, I will not schedule with that vet again, and will attend with no expectation of building a relationship with this clinic. I would like to remind VCA Silver Lake Animal Hospital that the small things DO matter.

I was in need of cat boarding for my two cats so I called this location on March 11th. The person that I spoke with told me that cat boarding is $42.20 a day. I asked what the price would be if I had two cats and she let me know that it is $42.20 for two cats. She informed me that before my cats could get boarded there, they would need to be examined by the vet so she set up an appointment for me. FYI, vet visits are in the $70 range but there is a coupon on their website for $25 for new customers. The vet visit went fine and we scheduled them for boarding. On drop off day, I filled out the form and I checked off that I had my own food for the cats and that I would like them to have the social interaction, which I believe is roughly $11 each time. I was expecting a bill of about ~$300 as I had my cats boarded for 5 nights, plus this facility charges you $2.85 a day to feed your cats that food that you brought from home. Of course if you use their food, there is no charge. Seems like a backwards policy but whatever. Well, my bill was actually $445.70 because they charged me a daily rate of $41.15 PER CAT. I let them know that that was not what I was told because the person who I talked to on the phone mentioned that it was $42.20 FOR BOTH CATS. Of course I had to pay it if I wanted my cats back and the lady said that it was a "miscommunication". I can see if there was a miscommunication if they were quoting the same daily rate but they weren't even doing that. On top of that, there wasn't even a charge of the daily play time and if I asked if they did it, who is going to say that they did do it or not, they probably did and forgot to add it or they probably forgot to play with my cats and will add it just to get more money. Lastly, when I dropped off my cats, I asked if I would receive any updates or pictures. I was told that they would note it on my file and that I can call for updates. Well I had to call for the update, no one called me at all. They also didn't even bother to call to let me know that my cat was not eating because after 5 days at this facility, my cat has lost two pounds. In conclusion, I'll have my cats boarding at another facility. I don't think my cats received the best of care and did not appreciate that I was not informed that my cat was not eating.

I took my dog to the vet when she was really sick. I had signed up for their care club. After my dog passed, I called to cancel care club and they refused. So now I'm paying every month for my deceased pet.

They have been a good clinic for our animals. They do seem to have a small disconnect between their location staff and billing though.

I brought my dog here for some dental work and it ended up being a more complex and expensive procedure than expected. Dr. Jones and the staff were aware of my financial situation and still gave my dog Izzy exceptional care...he even knocked off $800 from my total bill... Izzy feels so much better and I am very grateful for VCA staff and Dr. Jones. Thank you!!!!!!! ????????????

The employees here are great and friendly! They have observed covid procedures extremely well and treat all our animals with good care. The only reason I didn't give the 5th star is because I *personally* feel like they do push some needless procedures. Nothing major, but like a fecal test every couple of weeks with no backing behind the recommendation seems like just a push to get some extra money. Quite literally the only negative point I have to share, everything else is great!

Had a good experience today with my puppy. They took the time to answer any questions I had, really went into detail and assured me we weren't failing as puppy parents! very helpful and personable. Of course appointments and vaccinations are pricey but they had a good Care Plan which helps with regular visits and vaccinations a LOT!. I felt a lot better leaving, because before getting there we felt discouraged like we just were failing him.
