This facility is biased against those living in apartments. Every dog is listed as being "NOT suited to apartment-style living" without any explanation for what that means... What if you work from home and your apartment complex has a dog park? You could take your dog to a park multiple times a day. What if you are a regular runner or hiker? Your dog will have regular outlets for their energy. Every dog does not NEED a farm to live on, and this shelter is killing unadopted pets while denying interested adopters on the basis of housing bias. Shame.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PUT THEM DOWN< We unfortunately had an incident, and could not take a chance on something else happening, we specifically asked that she be put down. A year later we get a call from Texas (due to having her chipped) saying your dog is here,. so Everett re-homed her after we asked that they not. PLEASE THEY ARE OUT TO MAKE $$$$$$$, if you ask that your animal be put down, ask for the remains so that you know you did not allow them to do this,

Make sure your cat is actually spayed or neutered! I had a pleasant experience picking up my cat here. Sadly, I was told he was spayed and it was a lie. My cat now pees on walls marking his territory and I had to go out of my way to spay him. They offered to help, but I've since moved.

This is a spectacular place! Clean and comfortable with a room for getting to know the dogs. It took less than an hour to adopt our new family member. Thanks to the wonderful people at Everett Animal Shelter!

They wanted to euthanize a one year old healthy cat because he sprays in the house. He JUST got fixed, the VET said it can take 30 days for spraying to stop after getting fixed, but yet they weren’t planning to wait to see if he would stop spraying. There were 2 cars in the ENTIRE parking lot, but couldn’t answer my calls on my way there. I took a kitten there to find a forever home and the paper work was a hassle and had a long wait time, even though I had prefilled everything out before going.

The girls were great. Answered all my questions. So glad I found this little guy. He’s such a love. The only somewhat negative thing I’d say Is I wish they’d ask more questions about the animals background. Personality, bathroom habits and likes and dislikes

I had a bad experience with uno of the staff members, she was very rude over the phone. I went there yesterday, drove 40 min., desperate because my cat has been missing, I know during covid they are just doing curbside appointments, but just wanted to ask and leave a flyer of my lost kitty, so they would recognize her quickly if someone took her there, so we would be able to reunite. This person told me she wouldn't take the flyer because nobody would be on the lookout for my cat, because they get thousands of animals during the year, and hanged up on me. I couldn't understand why would she even work there, It's a shelter right??? Aren't they suppose to care a little bit for this situations??? Sad, very sad.

My husband and I wanted to adopt an kitten from this group. We gave all of our information in a timely manner, and also texted them upon request. When asked if the kitten would use the bathroom inside or outside,my husband stated that he wanted to have the kitty be comfortable with both (we would have a litter box for when they use the bathroom inside) We were told he had been adopted, but then told we were also denied because they don’t let cats go to homes where they are allowed to go outside. (The reasoning was sound and it was for the animal’s best interest,so we were okay with this, and the new kitten we are about to adopt will use bathroom exclusively inside.) However,a week later we get a message (see image) asking my husband (who put that he works for Uber) asking him to give an animal a ride to the cardiologist (this is not how Uber works,Uber picks your rides and you either confirm or deny the one Uber chooses for you.) We were asleep after a long day,so we didn’t see the message. Cinda who wrote us accidentally sent a message to (Joanne?) telling them they actually denied us because the cat was also going to be able to use the bathroom outside,so we now doubt that he (the kitten andy) was even adopted at all. When my husband responded, the reply was “sorry, thought you might be interested in a customer.” No ma’am that is not how Uber works, and I would have completely been okay with giving the cat a ride to the cardiologist out of the kindness of my heart (had I been awake) You have some nerve lecturing us on the safety of our pets, but then giving us the all clear to be your delivery driver -having never met us at all or even had a proper phone conversation- If letting a cat use the bathroom outside is unsafe,I would love to see you explain how letting someone you have never even met before pickup, and be responsible for a cat with medical issues IS considered safe in your book. Do not give these people your personal information, they will solicit to you,and lie to your face.

Kim is sooooo fabulous!!! I had to go to the ER and couldn't take my dog Winston. I was frantic when I was told he was going to be euthanized. He had done nothing wrong! Tracked him down and Kim was such a blessing. Winston are hanging out in the yard right now thinking good thoughts for her.

Care and attention are priority one. We went in to meet some small dogs and ended up leaving with a larger dog whom we are fostering to make sure she truly is the right fit for our family. She needed some medical care and the adoption won't proceed until they know she is all better. We couldn't be happier with our newest pack member and the care attention of the staff at EAS!

We adopted a dog here and worked with Lark. They were fast to get back to us and was wonderful in working with us on adoption times. They took good care of Axel and made sure he was healthy to adopt. We love him! Thanks Lark!

So disappointed I got approved for a kitty adoption and it was going great, the girl told me to double check with my mom since i’m 18 and don’t own the house. She specifically said that she will owe the kitty for me and to call back that night and leave a voicemail since they were going to be closed. That night I called the number she gave me plus the shelter number twice but it kept giving me automated voice messages (like click 1 for shelter directions, click 2 for adoption information) so i wasn’t able to leave a voicemail. She had told me she will keep the kitty until she hears from me so I figured i’ll call tomorrow when they open up. I called at 12:32 (they open at 12:30) and the girl i talked to was someone different and was very disrespectful. She said she’ll they gave the kitty away but “i guess i’ll triple check” and blamed me for not calling before 9am. I told her the other person didn’t tell me that and that they open at 12:30, so how would i know to call at 9am. She said I was lying about the information given to me. I understand there’s nothing I could do about it since the kitty was already gone but I called three times that night and it should’ve shown a miss call the next morning or they could’ve called me before giving the kitty away to someone else since they told me that they reserved her for me. Then when I did call the girl was really disrespectful saying i’m lying and acted like I didn’t know what I was talking about and didn’t apologize or say that they will reach out to me when they receive more kittens.

I adopted a cat recently at EAS, and unfortunately, my home didn't turn out to be best suited for his needs. Due to COVID restrictions, I wasn't able to meet the cat prior to adopting him. After a couple days, I realized that the cat would be happiest in a different home, with more space and the opportunity to potentially roam outside occasionally. Additional time for him to settle in wasn't going to change that. I was beyond devastated to have to make this decision, but it was in the best interest of the cat. I don't think he'd previously been indoor only, and I live in a city building where he wouldn't have been able to go outside. I called the shelter, and was very sad that I needed to return the cat. They were extremely compassionate and understanding, agreeing that a different home was best for this little guy. I've never met a more snuggly and sweet cat in all of my life. I'm very sad that I wasn't able to keep him, but fully trust that the team at EAS will help him to find the right home, and when the time is right, help me to find a new kitty that is more suited for the small space I live in. Thank you, Tina, Lisa and Pam for your love for these animals and the great care you give them. I miss Safari dearly, but am excited for him to find the home / environment he needs. If you someone reading this becomes the new home for Safari, you have found the most incredible cat in the world <3.
