My dog is very happy the 1 day per week that he is there. The problem is that there is only 1 staff person, (several others have left in the past year since I have been bringing my dog here,) and many times it has been 10 AM or even later when she arrives.

I don’t post reviews, but I was so upset and even tried to reach out to the owner and haven’t heard back, so I wanted to post a real review of this place. About a month ago my husband and I left both of our dogs at this boarding facility while we went for a weekend vacation. We trusted them because it’s where we adopted one of our dogs years ago and we've had them stay there about 2-3 years ago and didn’t have a problem. Well, when we went to pick up our dogs after we landed on a Sunday, my husband was furious and I was almost in angry tears. First, when we arrived, no one was there. The building was locked, and it was after opening hours. It wasn't until someone else who was also waiting called the owner to see what was going on and found out that the person working that day, was running late (it happens, I get it). But it was after 3 pm and we were curious to know who the heck was watching our dogs if no one was there. We saw multiple running around outside and some barking inside. Well, when the worker finally showed up, they brought out one of our dogs, Zelda. Zelda normally gets very excited and runs when she sees my husband and I, but she slowly came out with her head down looking terrified. I had to walk over to her and as I was petting her, I felt dried chunks of something ALL over her. It was her own feces. The worker said it was normal sometimes, but this meant she sat in her own feces long enough for it to completely dry. Link (my other dog) came out and he was covered in feces too. The worker asked us if we wanted her to clean them. My husband responded, "well yes, we paid for them to get groomed and they're covered in their own feces. Obviously, I do." After they washed the feces off (not cleaned just washed off), we brought both dogs outside to leave and we noticed they were searching in old bowls that were left outside of their building for water. We pulled out their water bowl and dumped our water bottle in it. Both dogs were shoving each other so they could have some like they hadn't drank in days- they've never done that before. Fast forward to when we got home. They weren't able to get all the feces off Zelda (that's how badly she was covered) and she's acting strange. She was scared and wasn't eating. The next day my husband found blood in her stool, so we set up a vet appointment. While we were waiting for the results, we still had a hard time feeding Zelda and she even got a nosebleed, which has not happened in all the years we have had her. The doctors tested for parasites, and that came back negative, but they did state that they found her bacterial balance was off and she had inflammation in her lower intestine that may have caused the bleeding, so she was placed on antibiotics and a probiotic to get back on track. She also lost almost 2 lbs. The Vet said it’s possible that something stressed her out to the point where it may have been the cause. About 2 weeks after that, I came home to blood and urine all over Zelda and when we brought, he back to the vet, she tested positive for E-coli. Even when we took them to get re-groomed, our normal groomers said they were acting different and were scared to be there. I'm grossly disappointed and most likely will never bring my dogs there again for kenneling. I have waited a month before posting this, as I wanted to make sure I wasn’t just saying things out of anger, but the feelings have not dissipated in that time and after 2 vet visits. I wasn’t going to say anything but since they’re caring for other dogs, I feel like it needs to be addressed. The only thing we could think about was that we were paying someone we trusted to watch our dogs while we were gone, and they were sitting locked in a kennel without water for long enough for them to have to use the bathroom, and then sit in it, and then have it dry entirely.

This is an amazing Pet Sanctuary, and Rescue as well. All of the staff are well versed, and truly love the animals put in their care. This is a safe, and pleasant place to trust our pets????!

The following statement is not a troll, nor is it fake review. Please be very careful when you bring your pets here! The lady who owns it is very passionate about animal rights and will take great care of your animal. However! She will hold your dog hostage if she feels that your not a suitable owner. This lady refused to release my dog, even to the point of lying that she had it. I had to convince her to give my dog back. Will never go here again.

My Duncan and Smiley love their doggie hotel and so do I. All the staff are friendly and loving. They always remember Duncan and Smiley. Both my guys are rescues. Smiley quite quirky and they accommodate him perfectly. Also, the grooming is the best. Just love this place.

My 17 year old son was going to work here and trained for three days. 1. They never collected any paperwork from him like ID and SS number. 2. They have rescue dogs that are a little more aggressive and he was expected to go in the kennels with these dog with no training, 3. The owner chastised him for being concerned about getting bit and being nervous about the more aggressive dogs. 4. The work hours are not set and he worked 10 hours one day, he is under age. 5. He was told he needed to yell at the dogs and poke them to get them away when feeding them. 6. He gave his notice then worked 1 more day. 7. He called about getting his paycheck 2 weeks after he left and she never responded to him. 8. He went on Friday to get his check and no check was found for him, the owner said it was there but the person could not find it. 9. So when he came home he called her and she started berating him and making him feel like he did not do a good job. Also said how he was fast to get a paycheck but not to work. Chastised him for being nervous around the dogs and said all you have to do is put a bowl in the cage. 10. She said she would be in the next day for his check but when he showed up she did not have it. She said she left it at home.? She also said I thought you said you did not want it. This behavior is not professional or acceptable. She also blamed him for not having paper work but he was never given it to fill out. This is a valuable lesson for my son and he has learned a lot from it. I am concerned about the care she is giving to the animals.

Excellent customer service. A great mission statement and operating philosophy. As a community service they provide a weekly Pet Therapy program at Cedar Creek Memory Care community next door.

I've never been here but live nearby and walk in the neighborhood. You can hear the dogs barking all night long. I'm talking even at 3am. L It breaks my heart thinking people's dogs are boarded here.

Rude, unprofessional, condescending, and on several occasions has failed to even keep scheduled appointments. Stay far, far away from this place.

I've been bringing my fur baby Roxie here for years! They always take such good care of her. Danika at the front desk is always very polite and helpful! I have left roxie here for boarding, and daycare and she loves playing with all the other dogs! The owner Lissa is always around and showing how much she truly cares about the animals that are brought here. I won't go to another daycare!

This place absolutely garbage would not reccomend sending your pet to this place if you love them. Your pet wouldn't be treated with love and care. My dog came back terrified and he was covered in urine. They also lost all of his belongings that were sent with him for his stay. Again dont send your pets to this place.

I don't have anything positive to say about this place. I came to look at it for possible boarding and it was filthy inside and out. I also didn't have a lot of confidence with the staff. It's too bad it's a good location, convenient to get to but NO!

I rarely bother leaving bad reviews, but I'm done with this place. People often dismiss 1-star reviews, but I have to rate this place, as a PSA. Summary: TWICE in the last year (my only visits) my dog has come home SOAKED in urine - both times there was fresh urine and old/dried/caked urine on his belly, chest, and all four legs. Read on for details. As Paws in Paradise, this was a perfectly serviceable, nearby dog boarding place (most of the good places are 30 minutes or more away, sadly), but now they are awful. Several months ago, I left my 13 year old Anatolian there for a few days. On the way home after picking him up, I noticed an awful smell. When I got home, I realized that his entire lower half (underside and legs) were covered in urine. Some was still wet and some was clearly old and tacky to the touch, so it had been going on for a while. After bathing him immediately, I called and complained. I was offered a free bath, which I responded to by saying I had already bathed him and wouldn't want to stink up my car again anyway. She then offered me a 50% refund, which I accepted, and I received a check a few days later. Because of this, I recently gave them a second chance, after using a PetSmart that is over 30 minutes away in the meantime. I felt I didn't have the time to get there this time, so I revisited Best Friends. Well, I just picked up my dog, and he is urine-soaked again. I don't know if it's the bedding they use, or if they just let my dog pee in his sleeping area, but I'm so fed up. I should have known it would be a problem. The whole place reeks when you go into their lobby. I almost had to leave for a minute while she finished up with the customer in front of me. This place is terrible. If you live in the area, do yourself a favor and drive a little farther for a real dog boarding place.
