This is a VERY late review. My wife and I took our dog to this "vet" about 1 year ago and he did nothing but make us feel like we were wasting his time and inconveniencing him. He was very condescending and left us walking out with more questions than answers. When I ask a "professional" a question, I would prefer an answer as opposed to being answered with another question. We spent over $300 to walk out with nothing but knowing our pup had flees. We went in for 4 other reason and he answered nothing but pushing flea medicine on us and telling us our dog was over weight. We went to him because of such a high rating only to be let down in the worst way. We consider our dog as our kid, much like A LOT of other people, and to walk out of an appointment being more worried than when we walked in is unacceptable to me. I don't often bash on businesses, because I have been in customer service and know how awful customers can be, but my hopes are someone reads this and does a bit more research into who they're taking their fur babies to. Fast forward to today, when we took our dog to an actual vet, even he was sickened and informed us that our dogs SEVERE arthritis could have been addressed at Dr. Moody's appointment had he not just brushed it off and she would not be as bad as she is today. No response from the owner is needed on this post due to the fact that my wife and I will never be back. ????

Dr. Moody and his team are great. Our Family Pig is always in good hands when we take her there.

The staff was warm and welcoming. You could tell they really care about the animals. Dr Moody took his time to meticulously looked over my old man, and thoroughly answered all my questions since I'm new to the area. I would highly recommend this down to earth clinic!

2 days before christmas at 10pm my cat had an abscess, Dr. Moody let us come in, he stitched my cat up and we were on our way. Ever since both him and Dr. Kidder have seen my 4 other animals and it has been outstanding service every time. They are caring and kind. They very reasonably priced! I can't thank them enough for caring for all of my furry family members!

I would give more than 5 stars if I could! My husband and I recently moved to Oak Harbor and we adopted a puppy(our first pet) 2 weeks ago. Our puppy had been throwing up for 3 days and not taking any food or water. We were really confused and concerned, especially since this was our first pet. We called MANY vets around Oak Harbor and this was the only one who answered our call. Because my husband and I were so worried about our puppy, they were so kind enough to make an opening for us after hours for the same day we made the call! We showed up early and they took us in early! We absolutely loved that they also explained the many options we could take to fix the problem our puppy had. They didn't force us to do unnecessary tests and they let us know the prices of tests before hand so we werent thrown off in the end. The vet we had also taught us some tricks to help us discipline our puppy! They definitely made me, my husband, and our puppy extremely comfortable during our visit. In the end, everything was really affordable and we decided we will be keeping them as our normal vet

Had to put my dog down, she stayed until I could get there. Compassion, professional.

I was very impressed with our visit. This busy office went out of their way to care for our senior dog even though he was a new patient. They were kind, courteous, and did a great job.

We're new to the area. We currently have 3 pets (usually 4) and we planned to make appointments for all of our pets after the holidays to get them established as patients with this vet (based upon the fact that he's former Navy and that his website proclaims his "passion for animals" and that he does "care about what happens to your pet and will do everything in our power to ensure their well-being"). Well, 1 of the girls decided to preempt that plan and began acting sick over the weekend. We suspected another bladder infection and rather than disturb the vet on a Sunday evening we called Monday morning during regular business hours. And, because this Monday happened to be the DAY BEFORE a holiday, he would only see us if we paid an additional $100.00 "emergency" fee (on a regular non-holiday business day). If this is representative of his "passion" for animals and level of "care", no thanks. We will take our (frequent) business elsewhere. Update: No, you mentioned nothing about being booked 2 hours past closing. You said we could only be seen that day if we paid the extra $100.00 "emergency" fee. No worries, we called another vet and, although they also closed early that day, they still gave us a regular appointment time and we paid the standard exam, diagnostic and injection fees. Now they are the primary care for our 2 dog/2 cats. It all worked out. Thanks anyway.

We had a tough situation with our cat. Dr. Moody made the whole experience as best as one could have when putting down an animal. His office is rural and it was a perfect office for our needs. He was kind, compassionate, and just so nice. I highly recommend his services. His bedside manner is the best on the island. He is the 3rd vet we've seen while we lived on the island and the best one so far. The only one I'd recommend. Thank you for helping us through this tough and sad situation.

You let me down, Dr. Moody. You let my family down. Worst of all - you let my puppy down. I remember you from horse 4H and coming out to my farm to care for my horses years ago. I remember that you put my golden retriever, Buddy, down after he had gotten hit by a car. I remember that you put my moms horse, Iggy, down. That is why your behavior Friday morning shocked me. So I want you to know why I am disappointed in you: My boyfriend was the one who called you at 2 AM, June 2nd. Why? Well, it wasn't because our 8 month old pup got into our nonexistent "stash", as you accused us of. It's because our pup had a stroke, seizures, and you were less than a mile away from us. You were unwilling to come out to see us and unwilling for us to bring our pup to you. I'm shocked if you couldn't hear him crying in the background. Instead, you continued to act unprofessional and accuse us of letting our puppy have access to marijuana. Then you weren't going to come out due to not getting very much sleep. Instead of coming to help, you were giving us directions to take him to the vet clinic in Mount Vernon. But while explaining how to get to the clinic, Haji had passed away. I suggest not having any emergency hours if you're unwilling to follow them. It ended up being a waste of time. This is my personal experience with Dr. Moody and I hope this review helps people with considering which vet they should use. Thank you to those who took the time to read this.

Doc has been my VET for 15 years, sensible and truthful, definitely my best choice. Like Central Whidbey Veterinary Services on Face Book!

Wonderful services, very considerate, affordable, has handled many horse and dog emergencies for us all with a professional demeanor, explains procedures and thoughts in a manner that we could understand, has always let us watch him work with our animals so we know what is happening, no “behind closed doors” acts. Couldn’t ask for a better veterinarian! Most recently we had a filly split her chest open from a piece of tin roofing, he was very quick to arrive and talked us through the steps over the phone. Although she didn’t approve of the stitches he went above and beyond with her, going through 3 rounds of stitches, he’d come out when in the area to check on her, and she made a very quick and full recovery.

Dr. Moody has been my Veterinarian for over a decade. He is literally the only Vet i feel i can trust. He has always been there when i have an emergency. In February my dog had to have an emergency cesarean to deliver her last 2 pups. He took such great care of my baby girl after hours. We were all exhausted but he go us through it. He has also been awesome for my horse emergencies as well as just regular stuff. He is honest and to the point. He doesn't sugar coat things and i like that. I have had dishonest vets in the past an Robert Moody is the only Vet who actually listens to what you want. Excellent ethics and service!!

I have been using the services of Dr. Robert Moody for about 6 years. He is very kind, patient, and enjoys educating his clients. I also find him to be very affordable. He has treated my horse, dog, and cats. One of my favorite experiences is when my dog was with a sitter, she in an accident and was diagnosed with a torn CCL. The 2 vets who saw her first said she needed mandatory $5000 surgery and would never be able to do much otherwise. Dr. Moody gave me honest information and recommendations and advised me to hold off while we tried the alternative. We successfully treated her with rest and anti-inflammatories. He's a stand up guy who generally cares and isn't out there to "take your money," as some might. It's great that all of my animals can see the same veterinarian. Highly recommend Dr. Moody and all of his services!

Dr Moody has been my vet for over 15 yrs and I trust him unconditionally, he's never ordered extra tests or charged for things I didn't need. He's saved more than one of my horse's, goats and god knows what else's lives. Truly thankful to have him on whidbey island..

We're new to the island (last week) and hadn't had time to find a new vet for our pup. Of course, a late LATE Sunday night need arose in the middle of a power-outage and 30-year windstorm. One phone call and we were on our way to see Dr. Moody who was just outstanding. He's a no-nonsense, very practical, and thorough kind of vet who was fun to be with and as keen to know about our dog's humans as he was our dog. I cannot recommend him highly enough. NO further shopping; he's our vet.
