I love Prairie. Only complaint I have is how far out appointments are for any of the vets

This place used to be great. Now they are not only unprofessional but in my opinion and based on my personal experience they utilize bad practices that put your pets in danger. My 1 year old dog was killed by their veterinarian after they administered a “routine” vaccine that he had a negative reaction to. Instead of immediately providing aid when they saw he was in trouble they tried to bring him back out to us. When my wife saw his condition, she forced them to take him back and see what was wrong with him. He had no previous medical issues. Once they took him back into their office instead of giving him oxygen and epinephrine for a vaccine reaction they essentially just waited to see and monitor. This lack of proper emergency care lead to his condition worsening. At that point their vet told us to drive him to the emergency hospital because they were closing soon. He died within 5 minutes. We had a necropsy performed that verified that he died due to a restricted air from an allergic reaction. Their office never offered any condolences or took any responsibility for their actions or lack there of. In fact they gave every excuse to distance themselves.

Such great staff. Daily immediate care appointments if you call early enough. Just a very well run practice. Story: several years ago now we had a dear kitty that needed to be put down. No other practice in town would schedule an appointment for this sad task any sooner than ten days out. Prairie worked us in the same day, even though their schedule was full. They were so kind and helpful.

We've been coming here for years. Very nice staff, only issue is that vets come and go. Dr Morris was great so we will try to stick with the same one if possible. She performed a mass excision, healed perfectly and though basal cell, she was able to get clear margins... No further treatment necessary! Thankful.

We had a wonderful experience our first time at Prairie Animal Hospital. The pricing was very fair, the vet called right after the procedure (spay) to inform us of how everything went and how our girl was, and talked over a follow-up care plan. Our girl healed nicely and is back to being her rambunctious self. Overall a great experience, we will definitely be back.

Prairie Animal Hospital and their staff was so great! I just moved to town, my pup was having an issue with her eyes. They got us in fast and were thorough without doing a bunch of unnecessary tests. Everyone was professional and helpful. My pup is now doing fantastic.

I really hate their billing system. I consistently feel like I'm being billed twice for an office visit. For example I took my dog for an xray and consult for an injury I was confident about. I took the dog in, they weighed him, asked me 3 mins worth of questions and told me that he needed to be sedated for the xrays so I was dropping him off now and returning after 6 pm where the xrays would be reviewed and the consult would begin. Why did I pay $150 to drop my dog off? I confronted them about this where they made a very weak and unconvincing defense of the double office visit charge. I believe the gal I brought thos up to was not very proud to be working somewhere where she had to make such a defense. I didn't have the energy to push the issue. The consult with the surgeon was very informative and very very honest about options as well as the costs of qualified and good top local vetenary surgeons. I have only found worse vets when searching for an alternative. Prarie is by far the best local vet in my opinion. But, as I stated, the way that they break up the billing consistently makes me feel like I've been double tapped for the highest cost item on the bill every single visit in recent memory.

I bring all my pets here 1 dog and 3 cats.

My friend took her cat in to get an exam as he wasn't feeling well... they called her saying that he should be put down... my friend is a retired vet tech. She looked at his ultrasound herself and saw he was only dehydrated. They wanted to put him down for being dehydrated... are you kidding me?!

The staff is always helpful and pleasant to work with.

Prairie has been our go-to for quite some time now. We recently lost our Boston Terrier and the folks at Prairie were very compassionate and helpful.

Can be very inexpensive They love animals and they take care of you

We highly recommend Prairie Animal Hospital. The staff is incredible, the doctors are caring and we always board our Sheltie the Sheltie there. Karen and the entire kennel team are the best!!! They are always there for us.and we could not be more pleased!

Changed my appointment without letting me know and that day was my only shot at getting my beloved dogs in to see them. What a let down.

They changed our appointment schedule a day later without telling us which completely ruin my schedule bc now I can't even show up to my appointment. I was so disappointed because my dogs needed a check up. Will not go back.

Super friendly and always accommodating with fair pricing for services. They were the best when we had to rush our cat for emergency care on an abscess we were unaware of.
