Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine Bothell, Washington

I brought my rabbit, Pancakes, into the Center thinking she was sick with gi stasis. Thanks to the thoroughness of the emergency vet, Pancakes was diagnosed with a severe liver lobe torsion and internal bleeding, and quickly underwent surgery to remove the lobe. The doctors who operated on her did an excellent job, and communication and compassion could not have been better throughout the process. The vets saved Pancakes’ life, and I am incredibly thankful for the quality of care she received.

When my ferret, Slinky got extremely sick I was afraid he wouldn’t make the drive to CBEAM from Bellingham. They were the only ones willing to help him. I dropped him off and waited worried sick he wasn’t going to pull through. CBEAM was wonderful and the vet regularly kept in touch, let me know cost estimates, explained what tests she felt he needed and in what order we should do them. In no time she had everything figured out and had meds ordered for me. She even had refills sent to the pharmacy and shipped to my house. Slinky bounced back and made a full recovery thanks to their excellent care. The cost was very reasonable for what they did and the care he received but most important to me was how well he was treated. I will forever be grateful for them because we were not ready to lose our sweet Slinky. Thank you CBEAM team!

You guys are ???????? for taking down your bad reviewss that warn others. Thank goodness there are additional exotic vet's out there who actually care about the animals, their welfare, the owners involved, and NOT just the money.

We had an emergency with my daughters guinea pig. They were so kind and attentive to not only her guinea pig but to her as well and spoke kindly to her and we’re very reassuring. They called multiple times to explain what was happening and …

They are just great! They contact us multiple times a day with constant updates so i dont need to worry and they are so sweet and professional.

The vets here are simply amazing. I have a bearded dragon who was very sick when we got him. Thanks to the vets here his health has taken a 180 turn for the better. We were scared we might loose him. But the amazing care and directions given by the vets has given my dragon a chance at life! 100% recommend this place!

I cannot thank these guys enough for getting my little parrotlet in right away and immediately treating him. He's almost back to his old self now and their fast diagnosis and treatment saved his life. They are kind, compassionate and really know what they're doing!

After hours staff was amazing when we needed to drive 4hrs to get our two pythons seen for a Respiratory Infection. The staff gave us regular updates and took great care of our snakes. Would 100% recommend this Vet to any snake owners!

I have been bringing my two chinchillas to CBEAM since 2019 and trust them to always take care of my fur babies with the upmost care and concern. I recently brought Rocket in for an emergency cracked heel that was bleeding. They took all necessary actions and had him back out to me within a reasonable time. Two days later Rocket got his bandage off and they got me right in to get a new one.

I have never had a bad experience with the center no matter if its for a simple checkup for your bird or something like a CAT scan they are well equipped to handle any need there. Their staff takes the time to explain everything to you no matter how many questions you have and I have used them for over 15 years without a disappointment with the service and compassion from everyone at the center.

They intentionally hurt my bird by taking out blood from his leg (it was unusual and unneeded) On top of that gave him wrong medication and it's been 20 days and my parrot's leg is still not fine PLEASE DON'T GO HERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS

The center was able to see my rabbit on Christmas Eve when no one else in a 50 mile vicinity could. Everyone on staff was so wonderful - kind, efficient, knowledgeable, and understanding. The whole experience was positive. I got my boy the medicine he needed and could rest easy through the holidays.

Same as some other folks feel here just a waste of time money hungry vultures!.... My baby still died because they want all money up front or your pet dies, they don't care about pets at all. I should've went to Dr Pol

This hospital was fantastic. My bunny got sick on a Sunday, and they were the only exotic pet hospital that was both open on Sundays and able to get her in the same day and start care. During her hospitalization, doctors at the Center for Bird and Exotic Animals were attentive, responsive, and so helpful for helping me figure out the best care for my bunny. I don’t know what I would’ve done without them!

I brought my 5 week old rat here for an emergency URI appointment and left with a $700 bill. They are clean and professional, but the prices are not affordable for your average pet owner.

Staff and the Doctor were very caring and professional and guided me through a difficult time and decision for my beloved pet. I appreciate everything they did for my Samus, and pray that he will be ok. Thank you

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a vet. The vet coerced us deceitfully into getting a blood work done for our bird even though he was perfectly healthy. Their team didn’t do it right and ended up injuring our bird’s leg to a point where it was unusable for gripping or climbing. Because of this, we had to spend an additional 300 dollars on x ray, urgent care, and medicines because of the injury that was caused by the vet. This is incredibly unfair to our bird and us and I will never be returning to this place.

They were very caring towards my pet and very good at communicating with me what was happening. I received multiple updates over the two days that my pet was there hospitalized and they were able to stabilize her to the point where I could continue at home care. I do recommend this place to all owners of exotic pets, with knowing that any emergency vet visit and hospitalization is going to be pricey. Thank you so much for saving my pet!

They were very helpful and understanding when my ferret was in a hypoglycemic crisis (due to his insulinoma). They were honest and helpful and helped stabilize my ferret. He's not 100% back to normal, which is expected but he's brighter. They kept me updated with his care and returned my calls. Very professional, caring, and knowledgeable.

My partner and I have added a couple of goslings to our flock. One of them, just a few days old, had eaten something that wouldn't clear its little throat. With spitting up a slimy foam, along with labored breathing. I'm a doting dad and wanted the best for my little puff ball. 30 min had passed as I drove to our normal vet (who doesn't have a bird specialist on staff) they gave us the number for this place and I will likely forward my story over to them.... I ramble (clears throat)... As I reached out to this place a human jumped on the line and asked me what what they could do for me. I told them the above story (see above) and they said there would be a $200 ER fee. (the doting dad I am) "I'm fine with that, can you bill me, I need to save this little guy" I told them I would be able to pay whatever. as my funds will be available soon. They put me on hold and came back after a bit. The person told me that they cannot do any form of payment plan unless I apply for a credit card. They would however bill me a euthanasia fee... I hung up the phone. We spent the next 2 hours with our little puff ball. She's was able to clear the blockage with some help from us and water. She's back with her sister and doing much better.

It was suggested that we go here for emergency services for our hamster. We unfortunately chose end of life services given her condition, but the staff was so nice and accommodating during the entire process. It was very sweet and made it much easier. Thank you ❤️

Friendly, caring, and empathetic. Helped my ferret to avoid suffering. Emergency, Hospital, and Euthanasia services. Would def take my exotic pets here in the future. There were lots of caregivers involved but a special thanks to the ones I remember - Amber, Merry, JJ, and of course Dr Haviland.

I called them when noone else would see my appleyard duck "Mama". From the very friendly tech, the very professional receptionist, to the Dr herself, it was a wonderful experience. Thanks for everything you did for us.

I had a scare with my ferret a few nights ago. Most amazing vet I ever had! Now my little one is doing much better. So thankful that staff was so kind and made my fur baby all better!

Every experience I have had has been very informative and empathetic. This office has info on birds that I have not been given at any other vet (such as research studies on the benefits of UV lighting for birds and videos on how to best prepare my birds for a vet visit) AND they don't talk down to me if I don't have this info already (as I have experienced at certain other exotic vets in the area). They are open 24/7 for emergency visits and have a service to text questions which is very helpful. And as a cherry on top, after one of my birds passed away last year, I received a card signed by the entire office. Very thoughtful.

We were so worried about our sweet parakeet Pipsqueak when he stopped using his right foot and everyone has been wonderful caring for him and showed us how to handle him to give him his medicine. My daughter and I are much more confident in caring for him and helping him get better. So worth the long drive
