Amazing vet. My 5 year old boy was diagnosed with stomach cancer and they were able to do his surgery the next day! They gave him a full month of haply living before the cancer (they quoted me a few days to maybe a couple weeks) took my boys life. I will forever be grateful to this vet!!

This vet does not communicate with you at all during any process or procedure. My cat went in for a checkup and they didn't call me until much later in the day. I then finally called them and they told me that my cat was almost out of surgery. But she only went in to get a scratch checked out!!? Absolutely insane. They didn't even recommend or indicate any further action to be taken until we asked for it. I would not recommend this vet. If you do go here, I would call them every hour to make sure that you were kept in the loop about what was happening.

The people in the office were the kindest people. I was told just to come in for my cat. The vet did an amazing job of trimming my cats ingrown nails. I will be going back there for my cat's future needs.

I just took my dog in today to get two vaccinations and deworming medications. I arrived about 20 minutes early because I knew I would have to fill out paperwork because it was my first time visiting, I had to wait a while but I eventually was told to come inside instead of wait in the car with my dog (who is dog aggressive and has fleas) because if we were out of sight we would be forgotten about, or so we were told. So we had to sit there for at least half an hour keeping her in the corner and hiding her from dogs so she wouldn’t get triggered. We finally got in a room and ended up waiting until they were about to close, we heard them taking all of the other dogs out but we still, after almost two hours, hadn’t seen a vet, so we walked out. Honestly, after reading these reviews, I think we dodged a bullet and got out mildly. Between the surprise surgeries, dogs coming out of surgery with broken limbs, extremely expensive bills, and long wait times, this review section has me happy I walked out.

I started going to Bham Vet in January of 2021. I had just gotten my first puppy and wanted the best care for him. After now moving and getting a new vet I truly see how unprofessional and unreliable this vet is. Without fail I would have to call 5 to 10 times before I ever got anyone on the phone. I would show up to pick my little dog up and they wouldn't have even seen him after being there for 5+ hours. And the care they put into getting any notes or information to us was poor. I was never given any guidance when asked advice for a first time dog owner and never met the actual vet until we were planning to move. While nearing the end the communication became better, I would never recommend any first time pet owners take their animals here.

I’ve dropped my dog off before at 10am and was told it would take an hour. I wasn’t able to pick my dog up until 4pm. They also never pick up the phone. I would say they are under staffed, or just take on too many appointments.

The care was amazing but the communication for updates for my cat because she was kept over night for observation was nonexistent, I had to call them each time for an update

Losing a pet is one of the hardest obstacles in life. The loss leaves you hopeless and heartbroken. Gentle care can ease the situation. We received truly warm messages from the staff. We were able to say our goodbyes after hours on the weekend. I will forever be grateful for that last visit. The burden of cremation was lifted from us. Our boy was in caring hands until the end and back to us in a elegant pet urn. Love you sweet boy ????

They are awesome when it comes to care but when it comes to communication with what's going on with your pet or any costs associated with said care they are horrible. Cost was twice the amount of the original quote and i was sent home without any care instructions or when to bring my cat back in for his stitches to be removed. All in all I'm grateful i was able to get care for my cat but make sure if you go here you really hammer down communication with this group.

Dr. Sullivan and the team at Bellingham Vet have taken care of our family menagerie of pets for nearly 2 decades. Their care, professionalism and treatment of animals is exceptional — the best I have ever witnessed. Could not recommend them more highly.

Dr. Sullivan, Derek and Ian were all professional, responsive and reliable when it came to getting my Chihuahua into a last-minute appointment. I live in downtown Seattle, but with the increased amount of pet owners and, therefore, increased amount of sick animals, it was impossible to get my dog an appointment on a Saturday to have X-rays taken of her chest. Derek and Ian were both attentive, empathetic and compassionate over the phone and in-person. Dr. Sullivan spent A LOT of time going over my dogs diagnosis/prognosis and options regarding her care. He was patient with me as I asked questions and even offered to monitor her over night so I could get some sleep. My dog has seen numerous vets over the years, but I must say, the 70 mile drive from Seattle to Bellingham was well worth it to have my dog seen by these wonderful people. I cannot thank your clinic enough for the compassion you were able to show me and my dog.

Well. Made an appointment to talk to the vet here to see if I might want to switch to this vet. Showed up ten minutes early, receptionist came out and checked me in and went to check on "if a room is open." Waited ten more minutes, then she came back out and said the vet had "stepped out." No explanation, no attempt to reschedule, nothing. Just, "yes, he's stepped out." So, that made my decision pretty simple. As I waited, another client told me they are "nice, but understaffed," and that she had just that day been charged double what she was quoted (from $400 to over $800 dollars) and was never called/consulted regarding the bill being double. I feel like maybe I dodged a bullet.

Very unprofessional. My son was supposed to get his dogs test results by the end of the day. Everytime he called they said they were busy. He called on three different occasions before he just went into the office for the results. Then he was told the results were inconclusive. Poor customer service

I am very disappointed with my experience at this clinic. I brought my dog in for an ear infection at 11, and was told it would be about an hour to pick her back up. After not hearing anything for 2 hours, I called back and was told that there was an emergency surgery and they were unable to get to my dog but she was next in line after the emergency surgery was completed. This is completely understandable, and I was alright with this. After not hearing anything for another 2 hours, I called back and was informed that instead of getting to my dogs ear infection, they had done 7 surgeries on other dogs. They then mentioned they would get to my dog right away. That being said, after dropping my dog off at 11am, she was not ready to be picked up until 6pm. Upon arrival, my bill was twice what I usually pay at my other vet. My high energy dog came home after this vet acting confused, uncoordinated, and like she had been sedated. Overall, I am very frustrated with my experience and will not be returning.

Showed up for an appt and as I entered the building a very rude young lady with glasses says "you can't just walk in". I said I had an appt and she said well your suppose to wait outside. They didn't tell me this procedure on the phone and have a poorly placed sign outside. I did not like the idea of waiting outside with my scared cat with all the noise and so I was going back to my car when one of the staff told another customer it would be likely at least an hour as they had two emergencies. They didn't say this info to me. I went back to my car with the clipboard and paper to fill out of basic info and decided to go back up to the door and see what the situation was. She then tells me the same story and if I want I can leave my cat there in a nice cool room and come back when I am called. You seriously think I am going to leave my cat in a strange environment ALONE in a place I have never been to ? Or I could wait in my car for who knows how long. Cell phones are a thing now and they could of called people who had appts to let them know they had these emergencies arise and give us options. I was not happy with the way they handle customer relations and the first thing that got me off the wrong foot was the rude round glasses young lady who has no customer relation skills apparently. Maybe you need better signs and telling people who make appts the procedure, I know covid has made things harder to handle situations and all and it can be frustrating but bad organization. Not sure I would give them another chance. I really needed to have my cat seen for something that may or may not be serious and I left feeling really angry and treated as if I am just another sheep. I got bad vibes from the get go.

I have never left a review until now. This place recommends Trupanion insurance, but then doesn't direct bill or do referrals for services in the plan. I have been going here for over six months and cannot communicate directly with a veterinarian to get my concerns addressed. My dog goes in and doesn't get checked for the concerns I have and I end up wasting money. Further, some of the staff are rude and they don't try to problem solve or care about their clients concerns. Rather I feel that we are just another number!

Very sad for me, my cat I've had for 15 years had to go to sleep, very sick. Dr. Sullivan, Grace and Sarah at the clinic were wonderful with me and Harley(cat), very compassionate, caring and respectful of my sadness. I'll always be thankful that I was led to Bellingham Veterinary. To me, they're way beyond a 5 Star rating. THANKYOU

The staff was exceptional, very friendly and hard working! The vet was very caring and took his time hearing about my concerns. As busy as they are, they do a great job of making you feel welcomed and in good hands.
