I have been using Aerowood for over 10 years and they have always been excellent with the care of my pets.

We have been bringing our dogs to Aerowood Animal Hospital for the past two years and have received excellent care. Unfortunately, with COVID, and presumably being short staffed, the service and care for the past six months have been less than satisfactory. We had scheduled our dog to be spayed one month prior to the procedure. Originally, I had asked if we could drop our dog off at 6:30 AM, prior to work. They reported that they could only accommodate a drop off time between 7:00 AM-7:30 AM. I was able to re-arrange my work schedule, and took time off, to accommodate for this drop off time. I received a text reminder one day prior to the surgery stating that my dog would need to be dropped off between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. When I called to confirm that I had made previous arrangements, they stated that my chart did indicate a 7:00 AM drop off, but “couldn’t guarantee, but someone should be there.” I asked the receptionist to verify that someone would be at the clinic as I would not be able to come at 8:00. She stated that someone “should be there around 7:00 AM-ish.” When I arrived at the clinic at 7:00 AM there was nobody there. A woman came at 7:13 AM—please note that this woman was AMAZING and she was so accommodating. There was no paperwork ready for my dog, and she was not informed that I would be dropping my dog off earlier, but was so wonderful and patient—she was able to write up an estimate, find forms for me to sign and was very kind to my dog. She deserves a raise as this morning’s ordeal was completely out of her control, but was incredibly professional and kind when trying to fix the mistake. In previous phone calls (4+ times), we had asked to have her front dew claws removed secondary to our dog being in the fields and will most likely snag her claw on grass and brush. We understand that some clinics will not perform this surgery, as the dewclaws are functional and tends to be a controversial topic as to whether they should be removed preemptively—this was not the issue within our previous phone calls. We dropped our dog off for the intended spay and dew claw removal, signed paperwork and had checked with the receptionist on the procedures that were occurring that day. An hour after dropping her off, we received a phone call stating that they do not perform this surgery at the clinic as they believe it is functional to the dog—that is fine. If we would have known this one month prior—when we originally scheduled the appointment—we would have rescheduled with a separate veterinary clinic. We were called at work by Dr. Pastor, and were clearly frustrated with the scenario. We absolutely were frustrated with the situation as we had taken time off work, confirmed multiple times that we would be receiving this procedure, and even dropped off our dog that morning—which clearly meant that pre-surgical paperwork had not been completed or reviewed by attending veterinarian. When we explained everything that had lead up to this current frustration, and asked Dr. Pastor if he understood why we were so upset and frustrated with the situation, he stated “I think you’ll live.” As people know, dogs are family members, and we know that people can have different opinions. But if this is how he treats us, I am unsure as to how we could trust him completing a surgery on our dog. Unfortunately, that customer service coming form the Doctor is unacceptable and we will no longer be taking our dogs to Aerowood Animal Hospital. I do not recall who performed our fist dog’s spay—but she was WONDERFUL. I am disappointed as we really enjoyed taking our dog to this veterinary clinic. Unfortunately, with the lack of communication, bed side manner, and poor customer service, we will have to take our dogs elsewhere.

It's nice to have a vet who doubles as an emergency clinic. They have multiple vets, friendly staff.

I have been taking my pets to Aerowood for over a decade. We recently adopted a new puppy from a rescue and she just had her first vet visit. Unfortunately our new puppy was not on her best behavior, which happens sometimes (with rescues especially). Dr. Murphy and the other staff were so patient and accommodating for her. I want to take the time to say you’re all doing a wonderful job and our family appreciates you immensely.

After what was a failed attempt at saving my cat they called me to let me know she didn’t make it. I want to clarify this is not warranting the one star. The one star comes from the 2 months it took for me to finally get my cats ashes back because they LOST or ‘misplaced’ my cats body. Extremely unprofessional, they didn’t send me the email to pick my cats urn and selected it for me. They lacked clear communication. I was extremely heart broken in this and their experience did not help at all. Not a great emergency hospital- speaking in terms of the ratio to lives saved vs dead and not a great experience for customer service and professionalism. It’s like they forget that pets can hold such a significant spot in someone’s heart..

I'm very concerned about this vet. The desk staff informed that they only give preventative heartworm medication to dogs that have tested positive for heartworm. If a dog is positive for heartworm, preventative medication can kill them. Typically you only give heartworm medication to dogs that have tested negative for heartworm. I usually have a lot of confidence in vets, but this is so backwards that it makes me worry about their other policies. Besides that, typically an hour wait time for appointments.

I would put zero stars if available. Extremely incompetent service. They had my dog for a whole hour and they did not treat him or gave any diagnostic. Waste of time and money. It's a shame that people call themselves professionals at this location.

Despite all the great reviews I am so disappointed in the outcome of my cats situation and my experience. To make a long story short I came as an emergency because my cats ear swelled up really bad. The vet suggested she drain my cats hematoma ear at a second visit. After the procedure And all of the home instructions the next day the ear was swollen again and had only continued to swell more and more. Out of concern I called and asked if the cat can be seen and the front office told me to go somewhere else without consulting the vet about my cat. I asked her what about the follow up appointment the vet told me to schedule and again she told me go somewhere else we can’t help you anymore! I paid $600 here to just go get further services somewhere else. I am at urban animal now and they are helping me drain the ear again!

We've been going to Aerowood for years with different pets. They've always been great and reasonable. I appreciate the followup calls after procedures or illnesses

Been going here for 20+ years with multiple pets. Always trust their advice. Had to drive over from Moses Lake because they would fit us in the day of need. They got us in quickly and helped us with our concerns.

Edit: We had to take our dog to a second emergency vet the very same day he was discharged, just a few hours after he left Aerowood. We also found out Aerowood did NO tests or x-rays to attempt a diagnosis, so they must have just visually examined him and called it "good enough". They helped him rehydrate and gave him pain medication but made no effort to determine the cause of his suffering. He was discharged the next day (due to staffing shortages) with NO guidance for further care and one single medication to treat one of his many symptoms. Aerowood was our only choice when all the emergency vets around us were at capacity or not able to take overnight patients. Staff was mostly rude/abrupt, with two nurses and Dr Smith being the only bright spots in the whole experience. When Dr Smith went off-shift, we were called by Dr Murphy, who told us he hadn't reviewed our dogs file so he didn't know wht the situation was, but that he would be ready to be discharged soon because they wouldn't have a doctor on staff that night for overnight care. They did not arrange a transfer to another hospital, which I understand is standard practice. They discharged our dog with no instructions for further care, aside from prescribing an anti-biotic to treat a symptom of his pancreatitis and prescribed nothing to help with his nausea or vomitting, which were the most problematic symptoms. My husband had to contact our regular vet for further instructions, who asked us to contact Aerowood again (since they were the ones to last see him) to advise on next steps. Aerowood immediately tried to refuse to advise him (and tried to tell us we needed to talk to our regular vet) until he pushed, then when he asked clarifying questions about if our dog could continue taking other medications, were extremely rude and condescending, cutting us off, talking over us, and so on. The short version: Only go here if it is your absolute last option. Most of the staff could care less about caring for your pet and aren't going to be helpful when you have questions.

What started as a positive experience under poor circumstances, nobody wants to be in the position of taking their sick pet to the emergency vet, turned sour after the overnight staff had left. Our little schnauzer was in for a very bad bout of what we think to be pancreatitis and the morning after getting him admitted were called by the morning doctor with no knowledge (although they had the records to refer to) of his evening other than that he had been given medication and IV and would need to be discharged due to lack of staffing. While the latter is not the fault of the staff, the lack of advice, help in determining options, and general unhelpfulness when later calling to ask about medication and details to pass along to his primary vet as we continued to try to find an available emergency for this evening really made me question the 4+ stars for Aerowood. Dr. Smith was the single helpful and seemingly caring staff member, and the primary reason for the star I have given.

We have been going exclusively to Aerowood Animal Hospital for all our pets' needs for 32 years: two cats and 3 dogs have had their personal physicians there. The care and advice we have enjoyed over the years has been outstanding, and all the doctors and staff have always been personable, professional and a network of close partners for our pets that we can always rely on. Wouldn't go anywhere else unless a specialty required it. Aerowood knows why they are here and excels at it.

This place doesn't treat emergency as emergency, and they don't even have nessessary med equipments calling as an emergency hospital. We took puppy in, and told them our puppy might ate a needle. They took one hour to do a x ray confirming there was a needle in my dog stomach. Then they told us their endoscopy might not working. They charged us over $250. We had to found another emergncy hospital. Then they took another hour just checking him out.

They are very nice people but they will go for the pricey route right off the bat, so you do have to know what you want for your baby.

Our only contact with Aerowood was incredibly rude and unprofessional. My cat had an accident and injured her leg. We went to Aerowood as it was the closest to us and seemed to have good reviews. Upon arrival, we approached the door and attempted to check in. We were met at the door by a cold and obviously frustrated young woman. She told us that the wait would be over six hours, and as we expressed concern for our cat and asked if there was anything she may suggest to ease her pain, she responded with “not unless you have pain meds.” She gave us no information or showed any concern for our cat or any interest in helping to ease our worries. We will never be returning to Aerowood and we will tell our friends and family to stay far away.

Dr. Breaker is excellent. Told us of our terriers increased muscle mass, good weight and how to deal with his eye irritation from straw dust.

WHY do you place NEW, but unflattering (and TRUE) reviews deep down in order?? In "going CORPORATE" the prices are "sky-high" and the manner is COLD. Yes, the veterinarians are now EMPLOYEES whose paychecks reflect how much money they bring to the corporation. My pet died after I spent a "boat load" of money there and they're TOO CHEAP to even send a condolence card! I don't really know what went on inside, as pet owners were locked out (due to "covid spiel"), as my pet went in alive and came out dead. But, in fairness I was able to determine that both the vet Dr. Wyle, and her tech also (Asian woman with shoulder length hair), had an above average amount of veterinary knowledge. They saw him too late.

The doctors are nice. But they account for a fraction of the visit. The desk staff will make you wait for hours (no exaggeration) to intake your dog. And after the appointment they take forever to return your pet and medication. Not sure why it takes so much time, but they sure seem slow. I need to schedule entire days off of work, so I can accommodate whatever timeline the desk workers use.
