I'm very sad to hear the owner has retired. We have no idea where we will turn for another veterinary clinic as this was by far one of the best places that have treated our pets.

They never answer their phone!

I've worked and volunteered with cats for over 15 years and there is no other place I'd rather take my senior kitty. I'm very lucky that I live close by but I would drive a distance for the high standard of care and kindness provided by Dr. Voelkel and his staff. There are a lot of benefits to having a cat-only vet, and this is the best one in town.

I really like this clinic, but it's almost impossible to get ahold of them. I've been calling for the past week to set up an appointment with a kitten I recently adopted and the phone always rings to voicemail. They were better in the past about it so I can't say for sure what's changed.

We took in our 5 year old cat about a week ago for her routine checkup and blood tests. We recieved her records today and it showed that she needed a urinalysis, which they never told us on her phone update. These last three days we have been sleepless as our furry child has been vomiting, not drinking water, not eating food, nor playing - very unlike her usual demeaner. We had to take her to the emergency where they held her overnight and set everything straight. She is doing much better and on the road to recovery, no thanks to Accent on Cats. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. Pick up your phone, and more importantly, stop brushing off concerns of your clientelle.

Our first time there was a very positive experience. Friendly staff. The doctor came out several times to talk to me and explain everything. Took the time to answer all my questions.

Great place very loving staff

This place is great. I went from clinic to clinic trying to find a solution to my cats' GI problems, and this is the place where we finally got some effective long term solutions. Other places would just give meds to treat the symptoms and order a bunch of expensive tests, but offer no long term solutions other than 'more expensive tests'. Also, Dr. Voelkel is a straight-talking pragmatic guy. He is honest and will not try to upsell you on unnecessary treatments/tests.

Provided excellent service during these times, all owners have to wait curbside but I knew they were taking excellent care of my cat for his initial appointment. It was quick and easy to book an appointment and I was seen without any wait once I arrived, will definitely continue care here!

Very nice staff. Recently got a dental cleaning, and my cat’s teeth look fantastic, far superior than previous vet’s cleanings. Very reasonable pricing. I feel safe putting my cat’s health in their hands.

The care and professionalism shown at this place is incredible. Never talked into anything or sold anything outside of whats necessary for the health of my cat. The price has always been affordable and sometimes I think I'm undercharged. I moved to deep North Portland recently and will without hesitation continue to go here for the life of my cat. Cannot recommend enough, thank you!!

What time do you close? At my shop we're required to answer until we close up, apparently here they screen your calls in the last ten minutes. Obviously not expecting to bring the cat in at that time, but would be nice to get some advice for the weekend. Your staff sucks.

Unfortunately when I brought my cat here he was very sick, and did not end up making it. But Accent on Cats was very kind to him, and to me. If I lived near by I would absolutely continue using their services.

Very nice experience for my cats. It's definitely a good place for shy kitties, who aren't too fond of the hustle and bustle of other vet clinics where the smells and sounds of other animals can be frightening. The vet and his assistant are very nice and it's wonderful to have my kitties treated by other cat lovers.

I could not ask for a better place to bring my cats. They are always so welcoming, responsive and I never feel like I'm being pressured to do any extras. I have never had such great experiences with the vets as I have here. Cannot recommend enough.

Our older cat much like my husband doesnt like leaving the house so we normally dont take him to the vet unless absolutely necessary. I just about cried when we took him to the cat clinic. These humans are AHHHMAZING!! I have never seen our fur child so calm in the presence of others. We loved them so much we decided to adopt two more kittens and make it our families official vet???????????? they are so knowledgeable and gentle and caring making it possible for this crazy cat mom to breathe!!

I've been bringing my cat here for a few yrs now, they always take care of him. I'm bummed I'll be moving out of the area. Highly recommend Accent on Cats to everyone.

I really like the Doctor and Staff here. I trust them with my cats. Their prices are reasonable and they are very upfront about costs. I like that they offer multiple approaches to solving an issue and try to start off conservatively. I would definitely recommend this Clinic.

We love the care and attention our cats have received here. It's comforting to have a place that specializes in cats because general veterinarians don't always know cat specific illnesses and diseases as well. The staff here all have a warm and caring demeanor and I've never gotten the feeling that we were posted towards anything unnecessary. When they've found things wrong, we get medicine and care instructions, but also advice that clearly comes from experience that really caters the help in a proactive, supportive manner. They're very quick in response time and we've never had trouble getting in to see the vet.

Dr Voelkel is great with my cats. Having a cat-only clinic really reduces the stress of taking them to the vet. Now that I've moved and have to take two major highways to get to this vet, I still think it's worth the additional travel time

This place is great! Low-key cat only vet. Staff seem to really care and are always friendly. Have gotten me in to see my cat pretty quick and the bills have ended up being even less than I thought they would! That never happens with a vet! I feel like I can trust them to take the best care of my cat. I won't go anywhere else now.
