I went on an urgent visit when my pet became very sick suddenly. He did not survive but the care I received for my two visits meant a great deal to me and the care was excellent.

We were fostering a dog that ended up being adopted here by someone. Get happy with their service. Seemed like great people and a great animal hospital.

My dog is a patient there and I called with an emergency to have her seen, on Thursday morning. My dog had been throwing up since 1:30 AM, Thursday morning. We are talking puddles of water and food. I first took her down to the emergency vet in Yorktown and waited two hours, before leaving, bc they had another emergency due to come in. I decided to take her home and wait until VCA opened at 8 am... In the meantime, I called all other vets in this area AND Richmond, to have her seen, but there was no vet available and I was referred out to Cary town. She continued to throw up puddles of water and food. I finally got through to my vet and explained everything I wrote above. I was told it is a surgery day and your dog won't be seen until 4 pm. By 2:30 she was able to eat some white rice and boiled chicken and didn't throw it up. I called the vet to let them know, which I was told that was good and she wouldn't be able to be seen until a later time, because they had an emergency coming in... I am very sad about this whole scenario. Follow up: I have since found another vet for my dog. The answer I got from them was there is a national crisis for vets and that everyone is overwhelmed.. yep, that makes everything better. SMH.

My new vet practice for the dogs and kitty. We're able to get my Dane in same day for gastritis. They even called the.next.to check on her and then a follow up email. I am looking forward to a long relationship with them.

We visited Williamsburg in May and brought our 13-year-old cat with us who is in renal failure. We found this hospital to administer subcutaneous fluids. They promptly got us in for an initial exam, followed by tech appointments throughout the week for subcu fluids. We returned in August and again, brought our cat to this hospital for subcu fluids and meds throughout the week. We could not have asked for better care. Everyone has been amazing. It’s very comforting knowing we can travel and my cat can get the treatment she needs from great providers. Thank you so much!

They didn't care and turned us away this past Saturday when our elderly Toy Poodle had an accident and fell landing on the cement then having a seizure. ,and limping. We drove from Yorktown not knowing they changed their hours in June. We thought they were still 24 hour emg vet still. We get there shortly before 3 and are told they can't see us. I practically begged the girl on the phone explaining that we came there because our dog had been recently seen there and that she also had an appointment Wednesday. for a pre op for a cleaning. We had already taken her to their cardiologist for a test before the cleaning also. She said no, you'll have to take her to to an emergency vet and turned us away.. I decided to call Monday morning and cancel our appointment for the pre OP cleaning after this attitude because I think they really wouldn't give a care for my little ones wellbeing at all after this treatment. My husband and I both work in healthcare and would never turn away a person in need, ever. I would never turn away a person with a injured pet. Simply heartless!!

A very sad day, letting my 20 year old kitty cross the Rainbow Bridge. The most compassionate way possible, and allowed me to spend precious time with my Callie.

Our dog had a seizure and our vet was closed, we were referred to VCA Animal hospital. They were very helpful and friendly, the doctor really listened to my concerns and let us know she would send over all our pets info to our regular vet. The following day I called our vets office to make an appt and she had all our pets notes from the night before. Very efficient!!

Great friendly staff. The veterinarian explained everything she would be doing to our dog. From the time I pulled into the parking lot and our dog being discharged was about 2 hours. Thank you for your service last Friday night.

I do not recommend this place. I had a terrible experience with them. My cat had diarrhea and vomiting. I called them to ask for an appointment. A lady said if I want to take my animal there on the same day, I should have an emergency visit. The lady told me to come at 1 pm. I went there. They took my animal. I filled out paperwork. A vet tech came asked me a few questions and took my cat's stool sample. Everything was normal. Until a staff came with a 1000-1200 dollar bill for every test they could do on my animal without giving me the results of the stool sample. Excuse me lady, what were my animal’s test results????? I would like to know that first. All this happened after 2 hours of what was supposed to be an EMERGENCY. Anyway, I decided to have medication treatment. I waited another 2 hours(!!) and finally, I have my animal after 4 hours on an emergency visit!!!! When I ask the staff if they give her water. She said No. Unbelievable. My animal was in the cage for 4 hours having diarrhea and you didn't give her water? I will not go back to this place.

Our hearts are broken today, but I feel blessed that late last night we brought our very sick Coco to VCA Merrimac where Dr. Young and her assistant immediately attended to her. Both were extremely attentive, concerned, professional and above all compassionate to our sweet girl and to us during a most difficult time. Thank you both for giving Coco the peace she so deserved. We are grateful to have ended up on your doorstep. With deepest appreciation...
