I am so thankful for this office! We just had another big snow storm hit our area. Our cat was suffering and needed to be put to sleep. When I called the office early this morning, there were a couple of people there canceling appointments for the day. They were indeed closed, but did not hesitate in telling me to bring my sweet girl in. Carrie and Angela went above and beyond to help us. They were very kind and compassionate during this difficult time. They are an absolute asset to this office. I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences here. Thank you all for taking care of my babies.

I have been taking my babies to see Dr. Dunlap for years... his love for animals shows.

Bella, grandson's dog was hit by a car today. Animal control unavailable. Called Animal Health Care and they were waiting on us when we arrived. Very caring, friendly and sympathetic group of vets.

My puppy broke her foot they did surgery on it. I had to have her there between 7 &7:30 a.m. By 11:30 I hadn't heard anything. So I called to be told she was sedated and in surgery. By almost 2 hadn't heard any updates. Called to be told she had been sedated but no surgery yet.. By now I'm confused and upset. I go there.. Got apologized to for the mix up. And got to see my puppy.. She didn't get her surgery until about 4.. So they had to keep her overnight for observation.

While traveling over the holiday our dog got stung by a wasp and had an allergic reaction. We were 1/2 mile from AHCC , my husband called and they told us to come right away. They were understaffed and squeezed us in somehow. After a benadryl injection our golden had a seizure and Dr. Heather Smith showed such compassion that I instantly liked her and her genuine concern for your dog. They even called the next day to check on him even though we live in Williamsburg and are not regular patients. The entire staff that we delt with was awesome! Thank you!

The service here is great. This is the only place I take my dog. They're thorough and honest. Everyone is friendly and they're all very dedicated to what they do. I highly recommend them.

A bunch of heartless humans who would rather let your animal die than help you with a payment plan. I’ve given this place $1000s of dollars and one time I ask for a payment plan they deny me. I really can’t believe it. It’s absolutely insane how heartless people can be!

Saved my pets life without charging an arm and a leg. Was able to get a same day appointment for an emergency. Thanks. Really appreciate the great service.

Staff was very accommodating during an emergency earlier this year and got our cat in last minute on a Saturday. He had multiple bite wounds to the base of his tail, and I really appreciate the vet (female, but I don't remember her name) helping me understand the amount of pain our pet was in. I was hesitant about pain meds for him because he hadn't seemed in much pain before his procedure and I thought it was one of those things they were pushing unnecessarily for monetary reasons...but she was so right. He was miserable, and I'm so glad the staff encouraged me to make the right decision in taking the pain meds home for him. The price for his procedure (I&D, scrub, antbx shot and pain meds) was around $120, and I thought was quite reasonable, all things considered.

My husband and I live in East Tennessee and have travelled to the Staunton/Waynesboro area many times over the past 10 years, mostly for relaxing get-always. This time we were here for a four day dock diving event for my husband’s Labrador. As a visually impaired person who depends on Kendalee, my guide dog who is also a Labrador, for my safety and ability to move around independently her health and well being are critical to me. On the trip up here, she got sick in the car and again later after we arrived in the area. The next morning, I Googled a ‘vet near me” and the Animal Health Care Center came up and they were close to where we were staying. I called and talked to Anna, one of the most professional receptionist I’ve ever dealt with, and she quickly got us an appointment. Once we arrived, Anna helped us with the paperwork and took us to an exam room. McKenza, who introduced herself as the vet tech, came in and got her history and asked a lot of good questions. After a short wait, Dr. Smith came in and did a thorough exam and talked to me about a treatment plan for Kendalee’s GI issues. By the next day we saw a noticeable improvement in my trusty guide dog. All of this is always stressful on me as I was a Veterinarian before my declining eyesight forced me into an early retirement. Everyone we met at the Animal Health Care Center treated us with compassion, empathy, and the utmost amount of professionalism. Although I hope not to have an ill canine during our next and any other visits to the area but if we do we will definitely return to the Animal Health Care Center.

I loved it..they were very nice and helpful...they cared about my dog and what was wrong with her...I'm definitely going back they will be her new veterinarian....

AFFORDABLE !COMPASSIONATE! KIND! CLEAN! My Father takes his dog here he always talked about how amazing everyone is there. My new dog was sick and decided to take him here. I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I called to make the appointment, a woman named Connie answered the phone and was beyond compassionately helpful. They are also very affordable. I had had past experiences not being able to afford care for my Doggie Angel Roscoe a year ago and it was quite tragic, every Vet was just too much for me to be able to take him on a regular basis as sick as he had gotten. The office visit is $45. And they didn't charge a crazy amount for the medication my dog needed. I'm very thankful to them???? !

Very friendly folks. They treat your pets well and are very concerned about their health. We had our dogs boarded there a couple weeks ago and we were very happy.

They do great with pets. Our dog came out looking like a model. Staff are very friendly and fair. Recommend to anyone with a pet.

They are so personal and professional with my fur kids that when I leave them I don't worry. And when I take them there even through COVID they allowed me to be in the office with my baby. They care for our animals as well as they we their own animals ❤

I like this place. They helped me diagnose and treat my pet rat. I was a little disappointed they didn’t see something was wrong the first time I took him in when he was acting weird and lethargic. They said maybe just a pulled muscle and gave me pain meds. A couple weeks later It developed into full blown pneumonia :( the good news is that they gave me antibiotics, an x ray and I felt that he was really well cared for that time. He is acting his normal self again and all healed up! Will definitely take him back to them. Update: he randomly died last month after a follow up where he was deemed to be back to normal health.

My ferret receives his veterinary services here for about 6months now. They are always and I mean always so very very sweet the entire staff. I have had good experiences with their vets, the vet tech staff, and reception area. They are happy to answer any questions, very understanding, and charge reasonable prices for their services. Ferrets can be very expensive pets but atleast this place doesn't upcharge like crazy. Overall a very good veterinary practice and will continue to go here.

Meanded our family emotional support rat terrier from a vigorous dog bit. They periodically updated me of the status and their recommendations. Very considerate to the needs of our dog and I’m recommending this establishment to others. Our dog has recovered and is doing well.
