Healthy Hound Playground and Grooming Salon & Spa Sterling, Virginia

My puppy always comes home from HHP happy and exhausted. The staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are clean, and they walk the dogs outside several times a day. The grooming services are also wonderful.

Healthy Hound Playground totally exceeded our expectations. We’ve tried boarding our dog at other places and she has always come back acting strange and just not herself. We did a tour with Tay and felt comfortable with her from the start. The staff were super friendly and competent as well (unlike other places we’ve tried where they clearly didn’t follow our specific feeding instructions, requests for limited social interaction, etc.). I even called to check in on our pup once and they were very helpful in providing us detailed updates if we asked. I ended up feeling so comfortable that I didn’t feel the need to keep calling to check on her during our 7 day vacation. The biggest indication that this place takes good care is the mere fact that our dog has 100% been herself since we picked her up - no unusual behavior at all. We will definitely be using this place for future trips. Thank you, HHP!

Nice groomers, no current issues, decent priced.

Reasonable prices for a spa bath plus face, feet, and sanitary areas! My boy looked so handsome and felt so silky soft. Everyone I came into contact with was so friendly and my groomer, Jessica, even spoke with me beforehand to ask exactly how I wanted my golden retriever trimmed. I’m very particular as to what is cut so I appreciated that so much.

My dog absolutely loves coming here! She always comes home and sleeps which is awesome!

My babies Roxy, Rocko and me, are so grateful and happy with this place , specially with Alex, he is so good and caring . He knows what he is doing and he p uts love on it. I would highly recommend him. Thank you all for taking good care of my little angels!

Its good. Very busy so hope they add more employees and update their software, esp with Rivana-Innovation Station coming down the street. We could use more options in Reston-Herndon-Ashburn Corridor like a Camp Bow Wow, etc.

Updating my review from 2 stars. Like other reviewers, the owner reached out to me regarding my review. It was a pleasant exchange. I even noticed a considerable positive change at Healthy Hound following my conversation with the owner. I believe he genuinely cares for his business and it’s customers. Left a star off because I’m hoping the changes are lasting.

Had a few issues with local groomers that don’t seem to understand Newfie cuts. Shin was very thorough when we came in and our baby came out perfect and fluffy after a week playing on a farm! Highly recommend their grooming services!

Took my pomsky for the third time to HH and received the same great service. Will keep coming back. Before and after pictures of her recent haircut added, she’s happy!

Both me and my dog King absolutely love Healthy Hound and recommend it to all the dog owners we know. The staff is loving, attentive, and skilled. It is truly an all in one dog support system with boarding or day care, a variety of grooming services, adorable emailed puppy updates so you can check on your pooch, and the list goes on.

We have a very active Vizsla and he can’t wait to get through the door at HHP to go play and have fun. We also utilize their grooming services which are super convenient and they do an excellent job. My very anxious guy never comes home stressed! HHP is our pups home away from home.

We have been bringing our dog here now for about 6 months and have really enjoyed leaving him there. They are professional about taking care of the animals are there.

My dog Bailey did great and came home looking so happy and clean after her doggy spa bath. The staff was friendly and informative. I like how they text you when your dog is done and ready to be picked up.

Love, love, love this place! We have taken two different dogs there (previously, one German Shepherd with mobility issues who hated other people/other dogs; and more recently one younger husky who absolutely loves people and other dogs) for grooming and both have come back looking/smelling great and seemed to very much enjoy their time there. The last time we stopped by for a grooming, our husky even cried a little as we took him back home, like he was sad to leave them behind!! They also took great care of him when we dropped him off for daycare, and he is always extremely excited to see the receptionist. :) Thank you Healthy Hound!

We've used Healthy Hound off and on over past 4 years. Our dog has always loved going there. Even with all the growth the place has gone thru over the years the staff has been nice and friendly to all of us.

We have tried many different doggie daycares and Healthy Hound is BY FAR THE BEST. We live 30+ minutes away, but we make the drive because of the amazing service. At the end of the day, dog owners want to ensure their pets are in safe place. It’s an incredible bonus if they get exercise, engagement, and even form bonds with the staff. We have found that in Healthy Hound. Every single staff we have engaged with is friendly, welcoming, patient, and genuinely cares about service. I wish I knew more of the staff by name to give a specific shoutout. Logan, for example, always takes such good care our dog never wants to leave him! The rest of the staff is amazing as well, their names are just escaping me at the moment. Thank you so much to Healthy Hound! It makes such a difference when we go out of town or to work to have the peace of mind.

I have been taking my 10 month old boxer to Healthy Hound since she was a baby and she still can't wait to go! All the folks who work their greet us with big smiles every morning and provide reports to me when I pick her up in the evenings. They truly care about her, as demonstrated by how they gush over her when I drop her off! I highly recommend the Healthy Hound to anyone looking for a happy and safe place to take their fur-baby!

These guys are great. We had a few rough patches at the start but they made everything right and were happy to love on my pet and be accommodating. I was nervous about leaving my pet my first time but now I know he loves it because he can't get in the door fast enough when I pull into the parking lot.

We had a good experience here. My dog was groomed. The staff was friendly and helpful as this was his first professional grooming. I was not super happy with the cut as his tail was not trimmed, so make sure you are very specific with what you want as certain cut names are not universal.

Excellent grooming service!!! Our Samoyed received a full spa bath, blow-dry, and thorough brushing by Alex. Our pup came out looking (and smelling) simply amazing! His fur was wonderfully soft and white. Samoyeds have a dense and profuse double layer coat, with a longer outer coat and a soft, thick, wooly undercoat. It has to be systematically combed - section by section. It was clear that Alex had brushed also the undercoat, not just a superficial top-layer brushing! Alex had also spent a full hour blowdrying our pup, which we appreciated as his skin can't be left wet. Alex spent 3 1/2 hour on Bamse and the price was very reasonable. We are very happy with the service, and it saved us a Saturday of grooming at home. We will be back. Five stars!

The dog grooming at Healthy Hound is absolutely fantastic. My dog's haircut was perfect - they did exactly what I asked, and he smelled soooo good from the spa bath. Nails were included and were taken down to a good length with the grinder. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. My dog seemed happy when I picked him up. I live in Reston and they're not far. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful place! Every time I drop off my baby doggo for doggie daycare or for boarding - I am greeted with happy, friendly, smiling faces - that are genuine. It’s hard to believe that there’s this wonderful business place right here in the DMV area - and I have always had a positive experience. I can’t say that for many other places/businesses - and I have lived in the area for over 20 years. Recently had a grooming session added to a full day of doggie daycare and my baby doggo smelled and looked great. The best part: is that my dog has such a good time running around playing with the other dog guests and staff - that she is pooped the following day - it’s like a relax day for free. Love this place and highly recommend.

If you are looking for a professional grooming service, this is the place. Tonya grooms my cocker spaniel Luke with utmost care and detail and I know that he is in good hands with her experience. She takes pride in her work and makes him look perfect. The staff at check-in is also very attentive and I like that I get email reminders. Look no further, I highly recommend!
