We were charged $25 just to take a tour with our dog, to see if we wanted to become customers. Stupid policy.

My dog is always happy and exhausted after going to Dogtopia. Very easy pick up and drop off along with booking appointments on their app. Friendly and attentive staff and the hours are very convenient. It's also wonderful to see your pup on the webcam either on your computer and phone. Great place and I highly recommend!

I love how friendly the staff at the Herndon location is. They are so loving with our little Eloise. Sometimes when I bring her in, she is shaky and nervous and the staff there take special care to hug her and love on her and ease her into the romper room. When I check the webcam a little while after dropping her off, she is happily running around and playing with the other dogs. They understand and appreciate that Eloise is spoiled and loves to be snuggled, so they snuggle her from time to time and that seems to make her relax and enjoy her playtime. I really appreciate them for being so affectionate with my very human-centered Frenchie.

My dog loves it here, but they really need more employees at pick up time. Usually there is only one person, who is often busy with other things (washing dogs, etc). Today I came the same time as someone who was there for a meet and greet. The employee did not address me at all until she came back from the meet and greet 15 minutes later, and now there are four people waiting for their pet.

We love sending our dog to Dogtopia for “school” three days a week. Especially during the height of the pandemic, it was wonderful to get our pup out of the house and engaged with other dogs. She truly thinks Dogtopia is the best place ever! The staff are so caring, attentive and all-around wonderful. Try Dogtopia for your dog and tell them Maude sent you!

My puppy loves coming here! She's such a ball of energy, but she really gets it out while she's here. When she gets home, she barely moves for the rest of the night because she's so exhausted. I appreciate that they have cameras. The whole family watches our baby play all day! Also really good for socializing your dog with other dogs and preventing separation anxiety. I've never been able to board my older dog, she's just too anxious and not good with other dogs, so I'm hoping it will be a helpful tool for future boarding of my puppy.

My dog adores Dogtopia! I love that he is exhausted and happy when he comes home from a stay there. Unlike a lot of other boarding places, most of his day is spent in an open play area.

Staff is wonderful! They truly love the dogs. They are communicative, friendly, and kind. We've been coming to this location for years. Our dogs start jumpin' as we turn into the parking lot! Woof! Roxy & Cookie give them two paws up.

We had a very poor experience with our first boarding. Our dog has been boarding at other dog boarders numerous times and this was the first time where we had the company demonstrate questionable care of our dog. The company provides cute report cards for their stay and they noted that he hadn't had much of an appetite which is normal (our dog plays too hard and is generally too excited to eat much during stays). However, we had dropped him off with a brand new bag of food, usually enough for 10 days and he was boarding for 4. When I enquired where his food was the staff went back and forth between saying that they tossed out his food if he didn't eat it and that he had eaten every single meal. Based on our dog's weight loss I'm going to assume he didn't eat for much of his stay and that the staff either carelessly throughout all of the food or was using it to feed other dogs. The lack of care by the staff and their inability to actually say what happened to his food leads me to question why I would ever book him at Dogtopia again. We will not be returning. It is also disappointing that they have no outdoor area for the dogs, which is something our new spot has.

Griffin always comes home happy and exhausted. He HATES car rides, but gets really excited when I tell him we're going to doggy daycare. He can't wait to get to the playroom when we arrive, not even a backward glance when he leaves me. We are both huge fans!

Why we like Dogtopia at Herndon? - The staffs are really nice, friendly, helpful, informative and you could tell they really love their job and love dogs! And that’s a very important factor when choosing a place where you leave your puff baby under their care. - They have accessible videos you can watch while you’re away is a huge plus for the facility. Update: video cam is not available on weekends ???? - They create fun activities for the dogs. - The place looks neat, clean and new. Our dog Nala is always excited to go there. And she looks happy and taken care of. Thank you all to the dedicated and responsible staffs at Dogtopia Herndon. I highly recommend the place! I wish I brought her here when she’s younger.

Staff are friendly- it is clear they love dogs! The facilities are clean, they smell fresh, and are pretty accessible and affordable. I like the community-people and pups that go there. Update 7/2020 They have been great through the pandemic, keeping everyone safe while providing needed services. ThisaThis me to be more productive spending less time worried for my little Dood. I highly recommend them for anyone living in the Reston/ Herndon Area.

Our pup is OBSESSED with Dogtopia. This particular location is extra special because it is a little smaller so he gets lots of extra attention. We will continue to recommend over and over again!

Poor service - you will go through unnecessary hoops to board your dog. I will not recommend.

Chuck was friendly, non-judgmental, informative, and patient with a new-to-daycare mom like me. So happy to have found this place.

First - that my dog LOVES going here. When I moved to Reston, I tried 3 different places - this was the ONLY daycare she was excited about and eager to go to. She gets so excited when I drive up and would run up the stairs if I let her. When I pick her up, she's happy, 'hugs' and leans against the workers. And she sleeps - so I sleep. Second - the staff here are awesome! Super helpful, attentive, patient, and really know/understand dogs. I'm sure there are days they get frustrated with some pups, but you'd never know it. Very professional. All dogs treated well and equally. Third - Very clean establishment. Was a top requirement on my list when searching for a DDC. Fourth - the webcam is great....I like being able to check on her and see her. Fifth - affordable! As a single person with no family/kids, I need to use doggy daycare more than most because my dog is super energetic...makes it hard to get work done at home and days at the office can be long. Highly recommend!

Love this place and the people. It’s amazing. They love the dogs as their own and are so thoughtful. I always bring my dogs here and love how they remember my pups. My one guy runs and jumps into the managers arms. And he’s my shy guy. I highly recommend Dogtopia in Herndon.

I'm a big fan! My small dog has been going here for over two years, and consistently looks forward to playing for the day! He jumps at the door and is so excited when we arrive. I love the video feeds to peek in, and staff are responsive and engaged. They really care about the pups!

The staff is incredibly friendly and I feel like they care about my pup. I don't worry about her when she's there. And she loves playing with the other pup. This level of trust is invaluable.

Though the staff is friendly and helpful, the quality of this place is terrible. They are not licensed to give shots like other daycares, also the dogs do not get to go outside. My dog was there for 3 days and didn't get any sunlight. He came back very stinky tho I told them to give him a bath, they didn't. His behavior was sickly, his eyes were droopy and glazed and he wouldn't interact with the family when he came home. All he wants to do is lay down. He is usually hyperactive, he is only 2 years old. I will not let him stay here again unless it's an emergency and this is my only option.

I took two of my dogs here recently for a few days of boarding and grooming including a nail trim. One of my dogs came back limping with a quicked nail (cut too short which results in pain and bleeding). I understand accidents happen but where I take issue is with the lack of communication around the event. According to the staff there at pick up my dog was conveniently limping the day BEFORE his nail was cut. So the staff and groomer decided to 1) not call us and let us know so we could maybe come get him early and 2) STILL cut his nails on the same paw he is trying to keep weight off of and as a bonus cut the nail too short. Part of me hopes a group of professionals in the dog care business would display better judgement than that so what sounds more likely is that he was limping because they cut his nail too short and rather than own up to the mistake they were being evasive. At pick up I was told someone else did the actual grooming and that a Chuck would follow up with us "tomorrow" which has now come and gone. Based on my recent poor experiences between this location and a different one in the DMV, I wasn't super surprised when no one followed up. We've been customers of Dogtopia for a few years and the quality of logistics and communication have decreased dramatically overtime. I've had less than ideal experiences in the last few weeks but this was the first time one of my dogs was injured. Again, I understand that accidents happen but this situation turned into more than that between the lack of communication and/or straight up evasiveness. It's not like my dog can call me himself and say he's hurt or say "my paw hurts already, please don't cut my nails" (since again, limping isn't enough) but I'd hope I can trust the professionals I leave him with to at least exercise that judgement.
