Our dog broke her back leg while with my parents at the beginning of the summer (and also tore her CCL at the same time). We saw Dr. Litterine-Kaufman and he was absolutely wonderful. We ended up needing two separate surgeries, and Dr. LK was with us every step of the way. Zoe had a particularly tough recovery and we ended up needing to come in multiple times between regular checks - the entire team was patient, kind, and accommodating. There are lots of mixed reviews online - but VVSA is truly the best. Thanks so much for your care of our girl!!

The staff at VVSA and Dr. Litterine-Kaufman were excellent. They were able to schedule my dog within a reasonable timeframe. Dr. Litterine-Kaufman was exceptionally communicative throughout the entire process of my dog's TPLO surgery, which I found reassuring.

My dog needed a combo MPL/TPLO surgery on his stifle and Dr Hamilton could not have been more kind or patient while discussing the procedure and answering all of my questions. After surgery it was Dr Hamilton that called me to tell me how the procedure went. It was a small gesture that went a long way to show how much he cares for the patients and clients. We also used Dr Hamilton for my dog's two subsequent surgeries, and again he took the time to answer lots of questions from me and never seemed like he had other places to be or things to do.

Can't say enough good things. Dr. Barnes performed TPLO surgery on my granddog. I was very nervous at the start, but Dr. Barnes took the time to explain the procedure in depth. Both surgeries went very well. He was also great on follow-up exams. The entire entry staff was also great - took super care of my best buddie.

I'm never disappointed when visiting this hospital. Dr Kaufman was spectacular with my Navajo. Doctors here seem to know what they are doing and do so with caring hands.

I have had to use their services 3 different times. They are so professional & friendly .Dr Hamilton is the very best. He takes as much time as needed to explain everything and answer all questions. He truly loves animals it is not just a job to him it is his passion.

My ten-year-old yellow lab, Noah was diagnosed with Sqaumous Cell Carcinoma in his nasal cavity in May, 2018. I was referred by my local vet to Dr. Roy Barnes. Dr. Barnes was able to operate on Noah within one week, saving his life. This operation involved reconstructive surgery as well. I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am with Dr. Barnes and his competent staff, to include Dr. Jessica Giannetto. Not only is Dr. Barnes an amazing surgeon, but he is also caring, compassionate, professional, honest, and dedicated to his patients. Dr. Barnes immediately gained my trust when the first thing he did was to get down on the floor to meet Noah and get acquainted. I plan to tell everyone I know about the great, well-run operation at Virginia Veterinary Surgical Associates.

Love Dr. Todd Hamilton! He is great to talk to, he sits and take as much time as you need. I will not go anywhere else, if another unfortunate injury occurs to our collie puppy! (Torn ACL/Crutiate) Thank you so much!

Doctors Hamilton and Samuels have been caring for my older dog after a splenectomy and gallbladder removal and I've been impressed with the level of care he has received, both during surgery and through follow up. Dr. Samuels especially has …

I am a veterinarian myself, but when my senior dog needed a complicated surgery performed I took him to VVSA. I am glad I did. The entire staff was helpful, took great care of my dog, and Dr. Suess was fantastic. Your pet is in good hands with these professional and caring people.

I have not been here personally, but did want to alert readers that Shelley Ottenbrite seems to only writes negative reviews. Based on what I have seen (search her reviews) I would not base any decisions on a negative review from Shelley.

Dr. Suess and his intern couldn't care less about your animal -- just that you don't ask questions and have a working credit card. When I asked the intern why cancer would show up in a chest x-ray when it didn't in a large tumor on my …
