Paws and Claws Grooming Richmond, Virginia

I have only brought my dog in for nail trims and they are so wonderful with him! Being a chihuahua, he can be quite cantankerous to say the least. Everyone there who has trimmed his nails...I just can't even believe how good he is with them. I'm waiting patiently for them to start taking new clients in for full on grooming.

I inquired about getting my dog groomed here. Conner responded informing me that they do not take random dogs, rather, they only take client recommendations. Therefore, if I know a current client, have them reach out. I’m not sure why they don’t inform people on their website of this?

They do a fantastic job grooming my mainecoon kitty. From a hygiene cut to lion.

Our first experience with Paws and Claws was great! Our Cavapoo looks so cute! Definitely keeping an ongoing schedule with them!

This place exceeded my expectations by miles. My golden was sick. He needed a bath and trim. I expected a funny looking whatever. I was totally shocked to see how wonderful he looked.

My boys love going here and staff are efficient and friendly!!! My guys look great and don’t spend all day at the groomer.....thanks Paws & Claws!

It's really true about how quiet it is when you walk in....it's kind of shocking considering the nature of the business. I was thrilled with the hand stripping they gave my wirehair dachshund. First off, most groomers don't offer hand stripping and secondly, he did a fabulous job. They also did a great job on my long hair mini doxie. Highly recommend.

Don't bother. This is one of those places that will only accept your business if you are "special" and referred by an existing client. Not even sure why they advertise if they won't allow you to patronize their store. This type of practice shouldn't even be permitted by the BBB. It's biased and exclusionary, I'd be curious to see who they actually allow to use their services. Taking my business to a shop that doesn't make unfounded assumptions about customers, and there are plenty to choose from.

I took my dog, Kobe to be groomed today. They did an excellent job.

Only taking new clients with a customer referral. Guess you have to know someone to get into this fancy place. Oh well, our money spends the same elsewhere.

I LOVE Paws and Claws! They are amazing with dogs who are anxious to get their nails clipped. My drama king Baxter gets very panicky and nippy over his nails being trimmed, to the point where we've been refused by some of the bigger chain groomers. This crew is so understanding. They get his nails clipped quickly and we're out in no time. They've also been great with my parents' dogs who are anxious about being on the table. The staff is so accommodating for them because they know how to make each pet as comfortable as possible. This is the only place I recommend to people!

We started taking Craig, our shih tzu mix, to Paws and Claws grooming when he was 16 weeks old. From that very first visit, the team at Paws and Claws has been amazing with him. It’s clear to me that they make sure to give him lots of breaks and take their time with him. Craig always comes out looking like an Instagram dog and his coat smells amazing and feels like pure velvet. They have been very friendly and easy to work with, and their system of automatically scheduling your next grooming appointment for the future is perfect. I would definitely recommend Paws and Claws grooming to anyone in search of a groomer!

I’ve been to quite a few groomers in Richmond and Paws and Claws exceeds all of them tremendously. They do such a great job with my very anxious dog, giving him time to rest and relax along the way. When you walk in it’s also so quiet and calm, I have truly never heard a groomer like this before but I think it makes a huge difference in keeping my dog calm. So happy to have found them!

Brought my dog here for the first time and was honestly floored with how great they did. My rescue min pin hates having his nails done and is a little terror crying/screaming, wiggling, etc and a nail trim usually takes upwards of 20 minutes. From the time I stepped out of my car to the time we were done and getting back in to go home was 7 minutes total! I really appreciate that they're requiring appointments for nail trims right now as it allowed us to make sure there would be 2 people there to handle my dog and they did an amazing job with him. We'll definitely be back soon!

Walked in for a nail trim a new days ago and everyone seemed very ready to help me, and it was calm and quiet inside which was great because I have a nervous dog.

Love Paws & Claws. They always do a great job on my dog Zeller. Zelly is sensitive to some grooming treatments and the guys at Paws & Claws do such an amazing job. Highly recommend them!

I highly recommend Paws and Claws!! I have a rough collie that can be exhausting to groom. But each time they have been gentle on my senior pup while making sure they do a superior grooming job. I am always satisfied with their work! Attention to detail, politeness, and reasonable pricing. I only trust Paws and Claws to be my groomer!

The cut looked choppy, uneven, and my dog looked disheveled. My dog smelled like he was not bathed, like he was outside all day. And they did not cut the nails as far down as they can go without harming my dog. His nails were still fairly long. I am taking my dog back to A Cats and Dogs World on Three Chopt Rd. They do a much much better job and my dog comes out smelling amazing.

It was my first time going with my dog ( who is absolutely terrified of going to get his nails done ) and they were amazing! Instead of trying to drag him to the back like my previous experiences at other places they came to him where he felt safe which was right beside me at the door to exit. He made sure he was ok and did a great job! Definitely my new place to take him!

Just took my dog here for the first time. I used to take her to pets smart but decided to try a new place when I noticed every time I picked her up she’d be upset the rest of the day or angry. When I picked her up from here her whole attitude was better! Already made an appointment for my other dog!

I’ve been taking my dog to Paws&claws for grooming for over 13 years. I first began when it was a Mother and Daughter. They were awesome. The Mom passed away and the daughter eventually left. 2 guys took over the operation and It has never been quite the same. When I asked for a dry cut instead of the shampoo because my dog was allergic to their new conditioner. They told me that it would be $50 for a dry cut instead of the $60 they were charging me. When I came back to pay they would not honor what they said..I was treated rudely and will never go back.

My dogs are bigger and don't really care to have their nails cut so it's nearly impossible for me to cut them myself. The guys at Paws and Claws are so great and friendly... they are able to get every nail efficiently and without my dogs going crazy! Highly recommend!

Great grooming and customer service!

My dog is a difficult case , he's extremely nervous and would not cooperate. He was returned multiple times from his previous grooming sessions, yet Paws and claws did a very nice job.

Picked my puppy up after grooming today. All groomers were busy. All crates were full waiting for pick ups. No dogs jumping or barking including my own. So calm. No stress for the fur babies. Very impressive. And...my boy looked so cute. Thanks Paws and Claws. See you soon! Great experience!!!

Great grooming experience! Very attentive staff. My bichon never looked better and seemed very relaxed when I picked her up. Will definitely be back very soon!

If it was possible to give 0 stars i would. We scheduled our australian shepherd for a cut at paws and claws because our usual groomer (dogma) was all filled up and i wish we had just waited. Our sister took their dog here a year ago and he came back with fleas. Still we needed her to get groomed pretty bad.. So we took a chance and scheduled an appointment. We asked that our aussie get a short cut and when we picked her up she was SHAVED. Ask any good groomer/ australian shepherd owner and they will say you are NOT to shave australian shepherds!!!! The words "cut" and "shave" are completely two different verbs. i had a meltdown when i saw her and called them to let them know how big of a mistake they made, now I'm telling you- DO YOURSELF AND YOUR DOG A FAVOR- DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE, SCHEDULE THEM AT DOGMA IN CARY TOWN.
