I adopted a dog from the pound. She was very sick. It was a lot of work to figure out how to help her. They have been supportive and caring. I am so thankful for their help and support helping the sweet dog we adopted feel better. Very thankful for this place!

Dr. Crawford is awesome. My husband and I agreed we want her as out Vet. She got on the floor with me and our dog. She took her time to explain everything to us and answered all of our questions. She took her time to examine our dog and treated her like the queen she is. Dr. Crawford thank you so much.

I agree with the review previously posted about unnecessary drastic measures. The younger male doctor suggested a X-ray which sent us out $400 plus. While doing a general initial exam on our newly adopted dog, the doctor palpated his hind legs and the dog reacted. Firstly, my dog is already nervous that a stranger was basically squeezing his hind legs. The doctor thought that this was an anomaly without further investigation. How about…does he limp? Does he lick his hind leg in pain? Or let’s monitor him and see. No, he said the dog needed to be sedated as his reaction was ‘aggressive’ and then a X-ray needed to be done. At the time, not thinking, I agreed. I, like most pet owners, would do almost anything to keep our fur babies well. So we left our dog there for over 2 hours as he was sedated, X-ray, and then had to stay for sedation to wear off. Of course, the X-ray was negative. The money was not the issue. The way he recommended the whole thing was so thoughtless and he didn’t really care to do other less extreme measures. The way he built it up and making us think there was something wrong. So let’s order an expensive test and yes let’s sedate our dog so we can bill you $480 dollars when you were just here for an initial visit with your newly adopted dog. Seriously? And yes I do realize that it wasn’t an invasive surgery but that’s not the point. Good for you doc, I hope ordering expensive test and procedure enriches your life. Will never go back. We transferred all our dogs to Dr. Bills. A littler further but service and staff are leagues better. I have not had one complaint since I’ve been going there.

Pet moms and dads beware. Unfortunately I do not have a good review to leave, but I feel it is necessary to post this so that others are aware. We have been bringing our three cats here since we rescued them as kittens 3 years ago. Overall we felt very happy with the service and care they were providing. Until several recent incidents that left us concerned that they were trying to take advantage of us and our wallets. Here is the most disturbing incident that left us questioning this practice: One of our cats was bitten on his paw and it was swollen and so we took him in for a check up. The doctor attempted to shave the wound to take a closer look, but was unable. He then stated we had two options, the first being exploratory surgery. To which I replied "Exploratory surgery?!?... I thought you would say we need to give him an antibiotic shot?" The doctor then gave me a glare and said, "the second option is to give him an antibiotic shot." I'm thinking, why didn't you lead with the shot? His wound was not that bad, granted he did need an antibiotic, but surgery seemed extreme. They gave him the shot and two weeks later it still wasn't better so I took him to another vet to get a second opinion. The new vet was absolutely shocked that surgery was even brought up and said that surgery would literally be a last resort after they have exhausted some other options. So the new vet gave us an antibiotic cream to try since some bacteria can be resistant to the shot. Low and behold two weeks later his paw is completely healed. This was just one of a few times that we felt they were offering us unnecessary treatment options. Though in the past we just declined and didn't think much of it since they were smaller more insignificant instances. But this really left us feeling uneasy. Most pet parents love their pets tremendously and would do anything for them. If I hadn't had the wisdom to seek a second opinion we could have easily ended up doing a surgery that was totally unnecessary. Needless to say we have switched vets. I also left a message for the supervisor at Stratford Hills Vet to call me so we could discuss this and have never heard back. I am concerned for the loving pet parents that come into this practice potentially being taken advantage of. Please beware and get a second opinion if you are unsure or feel uneasy in any way. I am very grateful for the 3 years of service that they did provide for our fur babies and I don't like saying anything negative about anyone which is why I gave them two stars. But I felt this needed to be said in case other pet parents experience the same thing.

Good tech in place, when you book your appointment you get a calendar invite. Staff was friendly and courteous, and the doctor took time to discuss our dog and asked lots of questions about his background

I've owned a lot of pets and gone to a lot of vets..... but NONE of them can compare to Stratford Hills!!!!! They make every effort to make you feel comfortable even in moments of panic. They are so kind and loving with our dogs. We know they take amazing care of our pets because, when we pull into the parking lot, our dogs go WILD like we are pulling up to the dog park!!! They love this vet so much which means we love it too! Seriously some of the most incredible people who work here. I'll be devastated if I ever leave Richmond simply

I take my two dogs here, still newer patients but have been 3-4 times and have had really great experiences each time. Vets and techs listen, ask questions and take pride in their work.

This Veterinary Clinic is absolutely awesome. Today was my first visit with my fur baby and I have to say they took very very very good care of us. Dr. Tucker spoke to me about everything that was going to happen with my fur baby. He was just very informative, very pleasant made me feel very comfortable allowing him to be my dog's doctor. And nurse assistant Bella was the sweetest individual. She was so pleasant, professional, caring and a doxie mommy like me.. She just made me feel so welcomed and I just knew with this Clinic my dog was going to be okay. I pray that every visit from here on out is as pleasant and as memorable as today's visit. I highly recommend this Clinic for your pet needs. Thank you Stratford Hills Vet Clinic. Keep up the great work.

I was very impressed with how the "process" worked, in terms of social distancing. Unfortunately, the sedative prescription for Jenny indicated I should give it to her an hour "before travel", only to find I should've given it to her hours or even the night before. I appreciate being told what was going to be done, and how much it would cost. I always have a good experience at Stratford Hills Veterinary Center.

Dr Tucker is awesome. Because of Covid, we can’t go in yet, but they have taken great care of our new puppy. They call to follow up on him. They have great communication. Dr Tucker answers all our questions and is very knowledgeable.

I have no complaints about Dr. Tucker or Kitchens. The vet techs, however, seem to be careless and rough with the animals. Furthermore, they are rude and inconsiderate when speaking with clients. I also question the cleanliness of the office as my cat caught a bug after every visit. I will not be returning as a client.

Dr. Kitchens and the Stratford Hills staff are extremely knowledgable and friendly. I would recommend this vet clinic to anyone looking for an affordable place that truly cares about your pet. We have had a tight budget and they list out their pricing for you upfront so you're not blindsided by a massive bill. They let us customize our dogs vaccine schedule so we never have to pay a whole lot at once. I cannot say enough good things about Stratford Hills!

Decent vet, but I find that sometimes they try to tack on unnecessary treatments. One of the doctors ”lectured” me on my language, which I could understand if I had belittled somebody. I’ll be taking my business and my beloved pets elsewhere.
