Evryone is so nice here! You can tell they love animals. Ive seen Dr. Jay Dolan a fewtimesd he is always patient and very thorough with his information. Just a great place all around.

Was struggling to get my dog in anywhere as all of the emergency vets were closed for New Years weekend and then it was snowing the following Monday so they closed again. My dog hadn't eaten/drank anything in days and had concerning stools. The receptionist was so kind and was able to fit me in. The vet himself was very gentle with my pup and helpful at offering solutions. I left with medicine, dog food, and plenty of options for my dog. He was better in a couple days and I'm so grateful for this vet for taking us in and helping my dog. They really care about you and your animal here and aren't just money grabbers. Thank you!

Great Service. Plus their honest. You know How some Vet's charge you for things they know will prolong your Beloved pets life only to milk your $$ emotions knowing your pet will pass soon. This Vet Hospital are sincere & caring. Dr. Dowling's office are good ppl. They work to Save,are Honest and will fight to save your pet's life. And the Staff especially Ms. Linda, she's simply Awesome????.

Everyone at Colonial Veterinary are awesome. The receptionists are always so friendly and love our dog Kennon. The vet techs are great and Dr. Dolan always takes his time with us and our dog, explains in detail anything he presents us with and answers any and all questions with great detail. We are glad to have our dog in their care, they truly put their clients first and don't just get pets in and out the door.

We absolutely LOVE bringing our fur babies here (even after moving across town); so much that we recommend them to everyone we know. They are always so incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and super sweet to the fur babies. So glad to have found them!!

My cat was having issues and I called vet after vet after vet trying to get her help but everyone just stood on being booked. Colonial vet understood the urgency and was able to make time for her the next day. She did end up having pyometra and needed emergency surgery which they did without hesitation. The surgery went great and she is recovering very well Me and my furlove are beyond grateful for the entire experience and will continue to trust and use this vet from here on. Also NEED to add that they took care of everything for a fraction of what it would've been elsewhere. Thank you guys so much.

We switched to Colonial when my Ava got injured and they got her in and did surgery on her and took such good care of her. Our new vet.

Dr. Dolan(s) and staff are wonderful. They always explain things in detail. Our 2 cats are diabetic and have had other issues and all my questions and concerns are answered.

I have been very impressed with the service and the prices here. The last place I tried charged double for half the service. Staff is friendly and I've seen two different vets and I could not be happier with their expertise.

We have taken our pets here since 2005, at the recommendation of a family member. We love the doctors at Colonial Vet and they take such good care of our pets. We have gone for regular checkups, and we have also had a couple of surgeries here. The staff and doctors are very communicative, caring, and responsive. We recently took our new puppy for a checkup and Dr. Riley not only spent time answering all our questions, but remembered our deceased dog including her name (he may have looked in the file, but still, that little touch matters). I highly recommend Colonial Vet!

Very kind and good people

Booked a same day rabies shot less than 4 hours before close that I really needed for international travel with my service dog. They had us in and out in less than 5 minutes of arrival. My dog is very skittish around new people especially without me around. Vet tech was friendly and made my dog feel comfortable and go back with no issues. This is no small feat! Highly recommend! Dogs are the best judge of character.

I agree with the wonderful reviews of Dr. Dolan and his staff. I ALSO want to add for those reading this that they help Henrico Humane rescue with complete veterinary care They are so supportive of the animals that need the care the most This means the world to me.

Dr. Dolan saved my dog’s life. He is extremely thorough, attentive, knowledgeable, compassionate AND reasonably priced. I just can’t recommend him strongly enough! He is wonderful.

Dr. Dolan and Jane are the best. Dr. Dolan is very attentive to your pets needs and is through on examining your pet and listening to what you tell him.. He is a super great veterinarian. Jane is very friendly and always willing to help with setting up appointments for you.

Dr.Dolan was very informative and nice. My Athena loved him and all the sweet staff! I am so happy we have found a great place to take our pets, i cannot wait to take my kitties!

Everyone was nice. It was my first time at this vet with my new Yorkie puppy. Emory was informative and personable. It was a good first visit.

Dr Dolan and everyone else here are great! Regular checkups have always been smooth and helpful. With a bigger issue with my dog, Dr Dolan was great with explaining each phase and checking in on his progress. Very thoughtful, knowledgeable, compassionate folks.

Dr. Dolan is great! Last year, my dog had to have a tumor removed at another vet when I was living in Illinois. After moving to Richmond, I was concerned to find another lump on him. Dr. Dolan took the time to explain all of my options to me and told me the costs without me having to bring it up. He (and another staff member) also managed to trim my dog's nails without having to sedate him. This is quite an accomplishment because he is a larger dog who hates having his paws messed with.

What a gem Dr Dolan is!
