I was sitting in the lobby of an emergency vet when I came across this business by way of their employee's shirt. The woman, who later identified herself as the hospital manager, was extremely rude to the clinic's staff, almost left the animal alone because "it's already been handled" and threw the animal carrier that she was holding on the ground when she was told that she needed to wait on a nurse to come out. If this is how the management conducts themselves in public, I wouldn't trust them with a potato, much less my cat and I certainly don't want them in my home. Keep your pets away from this lady - she clearly doesn't care about them.

They showed up on time I received notifications before during after they kept me fully informed they treated my dog like a rockstar these people are phenomenal no brainer to choose them every time!!!!!! If you're looking for the next level in vet care they're the ones!!!!!

Dr. Dexter and her technician were EXCELLENT in their medical knowledge as well as making the patient (Squeakie) extremely comfortable. This resulted in a pleasant experience for her and her parents! I cannot say enough good things about this team!!

We switched to CHVC a few years ago when my sweet rescue Hershey became too overwhelmed by going to another vet practice that required a car ride and usually a wait in a lobby with other animals. The anxiety we both felt leading up to and during her checkups just got to be too much. So we found this great practice that offers a mobile service that comes to our house, with great vets and support team members. The visits are so much easier and efficient, and even though there is a small fee for the convenience, in our opinion it is worth it!

Capital Home Vets have been wonderful with our two dogs! They are very courteous and professional and the dogs always love them. We have been using their services for several years and never had a single problem. We will continue to be happy clients, more importantly, so will our dogs.

I've been using this veterinary clinic for wellness checks of my older animals. They are prompt, friendly, and my pets don't have to deal with a scary car ride. Definitely recommended!

Dr. Breidenbach and team are wonderful. It was easy to schedule and they were willing to accommodate a very last minute change in my plans. They communicated clearly by text message in advance of the appointment and gave clear instructions for how to prepare. They saw all three of our senior cats plus our very high-energy dog for physical examinations and vaccinations. The appointment was complete within 40 minutes, including a post-visit chat with the doctor, printed prescriptions, and payment. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Considerate and caring group or team, they work cohesively to make sure that your needs are taken care of so that your pet is happy. They also follow up on the care provided to ensure your pet is doing ok after treatment is provided. They are quick to respond to your needs and professional above other service providers in the Henrico County area. The service remains above average as it has been and you get the one on one service by having them use their on call mobile work station, and so much more convenient than having to wait in a noisy lobby with other people pets. My dogs are rescue dogs so they have special needs around other pets, and this service is perfect for them. I would recommend trying to their service!!!! To any pet situation!!!!

Courtney did a great job making sure my pup got her booster shots!! She was friendly and you could tell she loves animals!! I will be using y’all’s services again!!

I'm so lucky I found CHVC,!! They were so helpful with the care of my 15 yr lab mix STAR,they came out to my home Very Friendly and Professional, sadly Star had Bone Cancer n in alot of Pain, they told me they could ease the pain n how lucky I was to have Star 15 yrs,that's about 105 yrs a long life.Star was my Heart but it hurt seeing her in so much pain it took everything out of me to ask,is it better for STAR to put to peace? They saw how emotional I was n in pain knowing it was the best for STAR. THEYWAS SO HELPFUL N CARING FOR THE BOTH OF US,( star n me) I was able to hold her as she was being put to rest, I have to say if it wasnt for CAPITAL Home VETERINARY care , my mental health would have been to the point of no return!!! I've lost Both parents within 3yrs apart n Star was the 3rd... so that was a month ago,so I contact CAPITAL HOME again for Ruki ( kai Ken) n once again they were Prefect, Friendly, Professional n most of all Careing!! They are such a Great VETERINARY care EVER !! DNT HESITATE, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, YOUR PET WILL LOVE THEM TOO!!!!!

This was an amazing experience! The team showed up right on time from the ETA text they gave me. It was very easy for me and my cat. The Dr. and tech were super friendly and they finished in no time. This is the best vet experienced my cat and I had.

We were long time clients for our dog and very challenging cat. We used to love the excellent care and service provided, especially as we have a stranger-aggressive cat who needs extra management considerations. The care used to be thorough, and I could rely on having my pets seen, examined, and appropriately scheduled for follow up. No longer. The practice refuses to provide prescriptions other than through "their pharmacy" or after charging a heavy fee to mail a signed prescription. They also have refused to provide prescriptions with refills available for chronic medications, leading to repeated requests for prescriptions frequently. They have refused to call in prescriptions, and when I have requested prescriptions to be sent to me, they have failed to sign the prescriptions, causing delays in refills. Additionally, the care provided has declined recently, and I have had to request re-evaluation, or reassurance that certain requested interventions were completed (such as injections that my dog receives routinely not being documented after a visit). When you have an older pet with several health issues, the medications start to become very expensive. Limiting clients to the most expensive prescription methods is extortion. I have tried multiple times to discuss this with the practice manager, and only been told lies, that prescriptions for vets are different and it is impossible to call in prescriptions (I have spoken to several pharmacists, who all disagree with this assessment for routine, non-controlled medications). I am a medical provider (for humans), and placing such extreme barriers to medical care is unthinkable. My spouse and I both work over 60 hours a week- when exactly am I supposed to drive to the far side of town to pick up a prescription? The policy changes made over the last 6 months have chased us away. I previously had referred several other pet owners over and was thrilled with the service. I requested today that our relationship with the practice be terminated.

We have been using them for years and we love the convenience and the reduced stress on our kitties. They are wonderful!

Today was my first visit with Capital Home Veterinary Care. They took great care with my two pets and provided good feedback on how best to care for them. My pets were so much more relaxed staying at home for their well checks.

We’ve been using Capital Home Veterinary Care for several years now. Originally, we went with them because we have a senior dog with health issues and anxiety. Being able to keep her at home for vet visits was a tremendous relief and so much better for her! She actually wags her tail when she sees the van pull in the driveway! We also have a younger dog and a cat, and being able to get everyone’s annual vaccines done in the same home visit is incredibly convenient. I appreciate the attentive vets and vet techs and know that our pets are getting the best possible veterinary care.

Our kitten broke her leg and needed surgery from a different vet one that can not prescribe pain medication thankfully they stayed open on a friday until we could get there to pick it up otherwise Pearl would have had to go through the weekend in pain ... Thank You

The sudden need to let my English Bulldog be euthanized came at the beginning of the Labor Day weekend. I could not imagine finding help. At Capital, Courtney answered my many calls and made it take place that very afternoon. Dr. Dexter and associate Alex met us in my car and were so dedicated to making this transition as kind and comfortable as possible. They explained every aspect and gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye. It was loving and peaceful and I cannot say enough good things about them. I am so thankful for the way they approached the loss I was experiencing and showed nothing but sensitivity.

I couldn't be more pleased with CHVC. I now have a dog who is challenging but everyone is so kind and patient. Dr. Dexter even caught her one day early on when my pup got away from me- like catching a bowling ball at full speed. Wonderful care, professional, nice people. Excellent value.
