I have been so happy with Winterfield and our dog’s vet Dr. Tisnado. We have a difficult pit mix that has been treated very poorly by 3 other places in the area. Dr. Tisnado was the first vet who helped us get her anxiety under control and prescribe her a medication to help her at the vet. Other vets had rude comments about her behavior or made us feel bad that she had behavioral issues despite explanations that she is a rescue and had been abused. Dr. Tisnado took the time to get to know our dog and pair herself with positivity and treats. She was the first vet in 7 years to treat her like this and it has made all the difference that she built rapport with our dog! We drive 40 minutes one-way to get to Winterfield and will continue to do so because she is the only vet we trust. Thank you for everything you all do for Gretel! All of the staff are very professional and kind. The facility is very clean, too. We appreciate you all so much!!!!

I agree with another reviewer. The care is 5 star The customer service not so much. They put you on hold right when they pick up the phone and then multiple times during the call. It's hard to get information from the receptionist, and most of the time they transfer you to leave messages and wait for a call back that rarely happens on the same day. It's a long waiting game and they're not cheap either.

have never been anything but THRILLED with the exceptional care from Winterfield Vet. Hosp. !! All the staff are fabulous, especially Cathy, Heather and Gayla ( best dog groomer EVER!). The vets are AWESOME also and the entire group not only takes the best care of the pets but also supports and cares for the pet's humans !!! We have 2 havanese and a teddy bear ( "god" dog) and Winterfield is the only place for us !!! definitely 5 stars but would give them 10 stars if possible !!!

I would NOT recommend this veterinary office. My dogs have been patients for almost a decade. Most recently, my Frenchie was recommended for a surgery that was not needed. I had been assured surgery was absolutely crucial and encouraged to cut my vacation short to bring her home for it. My dog was cut open for what turned out to be an unnecessary surgery and ultimately resulted in no real diagnosis. The doctor tried to backtrack and say the surgery was “exploratory”; however, that had NEVER been communicated to me. Then, to top it off, the Office Manager, Lindsey Brown, called me to discuss the bill and was rude, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. I moved my dogs to a different local practice.

These guys are awesome. Really patient and understanding with our cats, and willing to talk us through concerns over the phone. Really going to miss these guys when I move away! If you need a vet, these are the people to take your loved furry ones too.

Winterfield Vet was one of the very few vets I could find that are boarding dogs during COVID. We were in a bit of a sticky situation with our dog who couldn't keep his stitches in his tail amputation. They squeezed him in for a visit before he had to board and recommended a treatment plan within our means. The meds were a bit expensive, but boarding prices were very reasonable and they took great care of Gus!

The care is 5 star. The customer service is 1 Star. So 3 star average. Expect great care of your pet. Expect to be in your vehicle a while, plan to be placed on hold several times and either put to voicemail or drop call, expect the reception to be clueless why your calling if you are eventually able to talk to them.

Take excellent care of my Sealyham terrier and cats. Always so kind and professional. My pup has hated going to the vet in the past, but is very comfortable there.

I find everyone to be friendly here with reasonable prices and attentive care. The vets have always cheerfully obliged my torrent of questions when there is a health concern. No complaints.

They did a fantastic job with my little Bear. He is our baby. Surgery went great and the medical staff followed up after the surgery. They care about my best friend.

My pet snake had mites so I had to locate a vet that specializes with reptiles. Overall experience was amazing and my snake is mite free! Thank you so much to the wonder staff and Amarillo misses you all:-)

I was referred to them by their "sister" hospital and upon calling.. the lady that answered the phone was very polite and extremely helpful by talking with the vet about the dogs' issue while I was on the line. This was important because it made me feel more comfortable with taking the dog. This is not my pet but the pet of an ill and elderly person that I'm caring for and the dog is HER LIFE. She isn't well and It wasnt a good idea for me to even tell her that her dog was sick. She wouldn't have taken that well at all. I explained all of these things to the office and they told me to bring him right in and I did. Upon arrival they sent someone to the car (like they said they would on the phone-COVID) and soon after a nurse(using their leash) came to get the dog and allowed us to walk with him to the door. Once he had been examined I got a phonecall (none of this took long) and the vet explained her concerns, and we decided to do further testing. Once those results were in, I got another call and I'm so happy to say that because of the vet being willing to suggest and actually DO the further testing right then, we found out what the problems were. She gave me the prescriptions, some canned dog food, and at home care instructions. I was sooooo happy that I chose to take him there. They even did a COMPLIMENTARY nail clipping that he soooo badly needed. The bill was reasonable and I didn't feel like I had been taken advantage of because I was desperate at the time. The entire experience was so worth it because once I brought him home and told his MOM where we had been..WHY WE HAD BEEN..and what the outcome was.. she was over the moon and back. She thanked me over and over and cried. I knew then that I had did a good thing and made all the right decisions that I thought she would've made herself if she wasnt in her condition. Lastly, two days later the vet (not the nurse) called to follow up on how he was doing, and she gave him a prescription for the food that he actually needs to be eating to help with his condition. The experience with the entire staff was pleasant. I would recommend this place to anyone. If you are a pleasant and reasonable person that's looking for pleasant, efficient, trustworthy and reasonable veterinary care that starts on the phone whilst continuing throughout the entire process WINTERFIELD VETERINARY is the place to bring your fur baby. WE LOVE OUR PETS...THEY'RE NOT LIKE OUR CHILDREN...THEY ARE OUR CHILDREN AND THEY DEPEND ON US TO GET THEM THE BEST CARE POSSIBLE! ❤❤????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Had to take my 13 year old dog for a follow up exam and dental surgery to Winterfield. The staff was pleasant to work with and the doctor communicative, friendly and competent. I have no doubt my dog is in good hands when in their care. Would not hesitate to rely on them for further care of my old buddy.

We have been taking our pets here since they opened. Our dogs are our babies and we want the best care possible for them. We feel that is what we get at Winterfield.

If we could give Dr. Willis more stars we would, just love the care my babies get at Winterfield, we highly recommend them to all that will listen to us. We love the Vets and staff for our 3 fuzzy kids, we are very picky and have been going there for years because we get good care for the girls. Dr.Boyd & Dr.Willis are just great, we have no problem trusting either with our 3 babies.

Dr. Willis and Dr. Rice are just wonderful! Dr. Willis took care of my dog Annie for years and always took the time to really get to the bottom of her medical issues and help her. He knew how nervous I got when it came to my dog and was patient and explained everything to make me feel comfortable. I had complete trust in their knowledge and care and can't thank them enough. Heather at the front desk is also just as amazing! She goes above and beyond to help and so thankful she was there at the front line and on the phone when my sweet annie had an emergency. Although it had a sad ending for me, I thank the doctors and staff for the good care Annie did receive.

Zoe and I can’t thank Dr. Willis and Dr. Rice enough for fitting us in! Zoe broke her leg and I wasn’t feeling great about the surgery and Dr. Willis worked us in and took time to discuss the options and set us up with a fantastic surgical office. Then when we needed help after the surgery Dr. Rice (who could not be more friendly or compassionate) worked us in on her busy Saturday morning schedule!! I can’t thank her enough for helping Zoe. She completely exceeded my expectations. This office sees hundreds and hundreds of animals but always seems to make you feel like your baby is the VIP. They really do care about your pet’s well being. Thank you!!
