Friendly, awesome folks. Called ahead to confirm availability for a walk-in appointment, and was out within 30 minutes of arrival. Thanks!

I like that they had what i was looking for to give my pup as well as they offer some other items that was helpful to her condition she was having at the time.

They did a great job on both my dogs. Because one of my dogs needed a haircut bad because of tangles & stuff cause of his curly fur. He turned out amazing and was so soft. He was like another dog.

Made an appointment a month in advance for my two dogs. Got a call confirming my appointment only to be told when I arrived they'd given me the wrong time. It's impossible to get an appointment before Christmas anywhere else now. It's a Shame, I used them exclusively for two years, but now I'm moving on. I was told that I could just get back on the waiting list. No effort to correct it at all. If you use them, ask for an email confirmation.

Bark & Sparkle’ team are amazing! We went in to get his nails clip (he is not a fan) and they always do an amazing job, in and out. Very professional and caring stuff. Btw they gave him this super cool bandana. He is sparkling ✨

I love taking my dogs to bark and sparkle and will continue to use them for years to come. The quality food has helped with my dogs sensitive stomach. Lots of options for collars and leashes.

I’m not from here and I drop off my gsd puppy for a bath before heading back home they said he was very aggressive and told me that she never seen a dog this small this aggressive when she said that didn’t make much sense to me now of corse I was not there to see anything only can go by what I’m told however when bringing him back I had a very very scared puppy who had his ears push back and sad eyes so I am not feeling he was treated right because of the fear in him I’m going to post a pic of the other groomer his only been to twice cause I only had him for two months and if his so aggressive just because why was he letting the other lady hold him ? Again I was not there to see anything but I feel he was treated badly from the fear he had leaving you did not speak to me on the phone that was my mother in law and of corse I am going to have him professionally trained we have been working with him daily and he has not show us any signs of anger of corse he needs more socializing his a puppy the way you came across was as if he was a killer and yes I took that offensively he is just now coming back to him self he was very scared after wards you did do a very nice job washing him I just think you could have handle the situation nicer tell me he needs trainer and he was acting out but him being the worst you seen at this age just dose not match what I have seen him with other groomer and his vet I have called more then one obedience trainer and they said 5-6 months for bored training so we have been working sense day one on training him at home until they are ready to train him professional

I can appreciate the difficulties of keeping people hired during a pandemic, but it's not acceptable to close on a Sunday, post a sign that they'll be open Tuesday, then close Tuesday with a sign that says "check our Facebook and Instagram for information" There is no information about closing on either their Facebook or Instagram. There's no way to know if or when they'll be open again so I won't be coming back.

I brought my dachshund in for the 1st time to have his nails and furry paws trimmed. I was a walk-in, they were so accommodating, affordable, and took him right away! In under 10 minutes he was back tail wagging and happy! They did a great job we will be visiting them for all of our future grooming needs!

We took our little yorkie "lily " there for many years. As our dog aged and became more frail they continued to escalate their gentleness and care for Lily with each grooming session. They were kind and compassionate every time. We just lost our little lily yesterday after 18 great years and do u know that Bark and Sparkle heard about our loss they sent us a peace lily and a lovely card. Bark and Sparkle we love u and thank you for all the years of 5 star service.

Made an appointment 2 months prior before showing up with my 2 dogs last Thursday. When I arrived, I was told by the owner that 2 of her groomers called out sick and she could not groom them. First of all, I drove 30 minutes from Short Pump and did not receive a call that morning even though I was lied to because she said they did call. Secondly, since I made the appointment 2 months prior, why was I "bumped" instead of someone else? I also had a problem with her attitude when I asked a few questions and she looked at me with a demeaning facial expression. If she was any kind of business woman, she would have offered several options: 1-she could have apologized and offered a discount when we made an appt to resolve this. 2- being the owner, she controls her hours so she again could have apologized and offered to stay late that evening to finish all appointments. I was thinking that I was going to get a call from her with an apology and a resolution within a couple of days, but since she doesn`t value her customers or my $180 every 2 months I have taken my business elsewhere....

Very friendly people. Took my Beagle in to get her nails trim and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. They did a great job.

Girl cut my dogs foot, and didn’t say anything about it. My dog then proceeded to bleed all on my car seats. Will not be coming back.

My first time anywhere to wash my dog (other than my own tub); the staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. Clean store and nice products to use for bathing.

This is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to write a poor review on a small business. We took our dog for a nail trim and self service bath only to be lectured by who I am assuming is the owner about how we choose to train our dog. She has made rude comments prior to our last visit, but this time it was completely out of line and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. I assume she would not have spoken to us that way if there had been other customers in the store to hear. We do what is best for OUR dog and there is absolutely no reason to rudely give an uneducated opinion on how we train him. The younger girls in the store have always been super helpful and kind.

Was extremely pleasant and enjoyable experience. The staff were extremely sweet. The bathing area, while a little pricey well worth it! Shampoos are mixed beautifully and everything is easily workable and accessable.

The self wash station worked perfectly! Best place I have been to so far. Plus they offer everything you could need from shampoo, to conditioner, and even ear cleaner. The pups loved it too! Who knew bath time could be so fun!! ????

The owner, Linda was a HUGE help to me and my nervous puppy, Teddy. It was my first time to bathe him and she made us both feel confident while teaching me tips to make bathing a good experience. Thank you for your kindness and customer service!!

This review is written by MJ Elkins, co-owner of AKC Cairn Terrier groomed at Bark and Sparkle. WARNING - ATTENTION CAIRN TERRIER OWNERS - BEWARE. Our Cairn Terrier puppy's double coat will take a year to grow back after being severely shaved by this groomer. There is no guarantee that both his soft/undercoat and rough/wiry coats will return. DO NOT USE THIS GROOMER. Do research before going to Bark and Sparkle for medium or longer dog coats. I went after being recommended by our vet. I made the appointment with the owner, Linda Theurkauf. She assured me that she knew all about Cairn Terrier double coats and would take good care of him. Of course, when I called and complained about him being shaved, she denied even having that conversation with me until one of her employees (I could hear her in the background) reminded Linda that she was the one that made the appointment and indeed had the conversation with me. I thought I had done enough to assure this groomer would act in a professional and caring way with our Cairn Terrier. I WAS WRONG. Negative reviews state that Linda sometimes offers a 10% discount on the next appointment, most pet owners are horrified to even think about returning which Linda probably already had figured out. She didn't offer me a discount, instead she accused me of threatening her. Asking for a refund shouldn't be threatening since it is a part of good customer service. I read that she never gives refunds because she believes there is a circuit of dog owners that travel in packs getting free haircuts. Our 6 1/2 month puppy entered the door perky and trusting and when I picked him up he was big eyed and shaking. I gasped when I saw what had happened to him. That day and the next all he wanted to do was sleep. When you held him he would shake. What did they do to our puppy the four hours they had him in their care? I can't believe they would have drugged him but his behavior was so different. Other owners have viewed the same behavior when getting their pets home. I am not accusing just wondering, it could be the tramua of the severe shaving down to the skin with nicks and red burns. So do your research, check with the BBB, read the reviews on Google. Their reviews will show a more honest picture since no one can manipulate them. Facebook reviews can be controlled by the business owner. I noticed on Bark and Sparkle's Facebook page several family members were leaving positive reviews which can alter the ratings. By reading the negative reviews you see a pattern of a poor skill set caused by the hiring of inexperienced groomers or it can simply be because of the owner's business mission statement. Linda told me what it is and I remember it has something to do with not being a vanity groomer. Maybe Linda can restate it in her rebuttal since it is her mission statement. It has something to do about money. I'm also sure she will state "we never shave the dog unless they are severely matted". That seems to be the "go to" excuse for her poor management and grooming skills. As we continue bringing our puppy out and about, people gasped when they see him. They often ask "What happened?" We share our negative experience at B&S while his botched groom speaks for itself.
