Highly recommended this animal hospital. I’ve taken my dog here for almost a year and I’ve only had positive experiences. I wish that regular drs would have the level of care that these vets and vet techs show my dog. I won’t be going anywhere else.

They always take care of our sweet boy. They are gentle and respectful. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

I took our 10 week old dachshund for his check up and shots this week and loved the whole experience. They answered all my questions and tenderly took care our sweet boy as if he were their own. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr Perdew was amazing in a very difficult situation dealing with my senior dog. She explained things very thoroughly and clearly at a time I thought this may be my dogs last trip to the vet. Reception to vet techs to Dr. Perdew was an excellent experience in a difficult time and they squeezed us in when other practices in the area couldn’t see us for days. Highly recommend. We think Dr. Kaloski is the best. He took care of our other dog for 13 years and is now taking care of our new rescue. He is kind, patient, and caring. We are so happy to have him as our vet again.

I have taken my animals to Dr Kilgore since he became a veterinarian and then when he opened his own practice. He is an excellent, compassionate veterinarian and a top notch surgeon. His practice has grown and all the veterinarians in his practice are knowledgeable and professional. When I need them, they work me in and prices are reasonable as well.

We have been taking our variety of pets here for years. We have never had a bad experience; the staff are always friendly, and we feel that we receive excellent service. I also like that they make over each one of the pets which thrills the dogs (cats could care less) and makes me feel they really like them which in turn means they will treat them well. I have no reason to go elsewhere.

Don’t go here if you are black! The first thing I noticed was that I wasn’t greeted by the staff until I got to the counter. There was an empty lobby. That was strike one. Also the girl who comes in before the vet was talking to me and was totally looking at my hair and my appearance while she was talking to me. She wasn’t making eye contact, and I felt as if I was being judged like she never seen a black person up close before. My dog was energetic to see her and she seemed more irritated by him than the usual vet assistants that I have visited in the past. The vet was nice herself but she has no choice but to be. Also prior to booking the appointment, I asked if my dogs situation Could be taken care of there and I was told yes. I get there and they are unable to really do what was needed to be done but of course they charged me just to tell me my dog looks okay. I felt robbed and overall not valued at this facility and will not be bringing my dog back. I will also make sure that other blacks are aware of how they treat us at this facility.

We LOVE MAH!!! Our cats have been regular patients of Dr. Dugan (varying from from kitten stage to older adult), although we’ve received excellent care from a few other vets on staff as well. The assistance and support staff are always so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, too. We are incredibly pleased with ongoing compassion, care & expertise of MAH - in the eight years we’ve been going there, we’ve never had a negative experience. I think specifically about the care of one of our cats, Napoleon, who Dr. Dugan cared for from his ages 9-13, & she was even there when he passed. Throughout thyroid diagnoses and various medications, she always advised what was reasonable versus going to extremes, which we greatly appreciated. They prioritize the quality of life of pets, & with our current two (ages 4 & 6), we’re happy that they suggested proactive baseline labs with which to compare when the cats age. Thank you so much for being so good to all of us!

Dr. Edwards and her team are always caring and compassionate. It is easy to see how much they genuinely love animals and make sure they receive top notch care. Dr. Edwards takes her time to explain conditions and treatments in a way that even my young children understand and can help care for our pets.

The staff here took amazing care of my kitty and I would highly recommend Mechanicsville Animal Hospital to care for your pets. Dr. Cosby is amazing, everyone was professional and kind and you could tell they really care about their clients and their pets. 10/10!!

Dr. Kaloski is the best! He has been caring for my family’s pets for the past 13+ years and puts his whole heart into caring for his patients. After moving away then moving back, MAH was there with open arms to welcome me back and they were more than happy to meet my new fur-babies. All of the receptionists, technicians, and other staff members are always super sweet and caring. They truly love your pets like their own!

My first visit was on an emergency situation basis. They were able to fit me into their schedule and treated me and my fur baby with nothing but the utmost respect. Dr. Cosby, LVT Jamie, Kayley and the entire team were courteous, compassionate and professional. Unfortunately within 24 hours, my baby boy Marley had to be put down and it was by far the most heart-wrenching experience I have ever had to face head on. The most difficult decision I've had to make. The care that they provided for him made me feel like Marley was their only patient. The days following, I received the kindest sympathy card expressing their empathy and grace. I literally bawled my eyes out because it touched the depths of my soul and showed that they truly cared about my feelings and the passing of Marley. I will (and have) recommend this hospital to absolutely everyone of my VA fur parents. Thank you Dr. Cosby for everything. You are truly an angel on earth. I just switched my 3 dogs here a few months ago. As of yesterday all 3 have been here for their visits. The staff is so good with them especially our young chocolate lab Moose. Is is scared of everything but they put him at ease and made him feel so much better! Me too! They always respond to questions and the hospital is very clean

I trust them. They are kind, professional and they would never do anything to harm my pets. Dr. Klowski is the best. My dogs really like him. I have no problem telling anyone these guys are very good.

I wish it was a better reason to go here but unfortunately I had to put my elderly dog to sleep due to health issues. Other then the grim circumstances for our visit I have to say the whole staff treated myself and my beloved dog Roxie with the utmost respect and care. From being to end they were absolutely Rockstars !!

I have been coming to Mechanicsville Animal for many years. Recently I have had what I will call a hiccup with one of the services But it was taken care of right away and I was surprised it was taken care of so quickly. Desperate for a acth stim test in this country, this was the only partner that was able to deliver without a full blown rediagnosis of Cushing's.

They were able to get my dog in quickly after an injury and provided compassionate care! Love this practice!

This was our first visit to Mechanicsville Animal Hospital and was very impressed from the front desk ladies, to the vet techs to Dr Cosby. Thank you so much for helping our Hank and being so professional and kind. This is an amazing place.

Made the appointment for my dog who was showing signs of I'll health including not closing his jaw (very irregular of him), foam on his muzzle, and a droopy eye. I had my wife take him to the appointment so I could attend a work meeting that morning. I find out later they charged us nearly $800 and couldn't say that anything was wrong with him or what caused it, saying it was a fluke occurrence. What upsets me the most is that if they can't say there is a condition to treat why was I given, and charged over $200 for, perscription medication? How do you perscription medicine to treat a condition that you can't identify? I will NOT be going back and I highly recommend avioding this place. Additionally, though just before his appointment I saw his eye and after work I saw his eye, both times looking obviously different then the other, I was told his eye looked completely normal. I wasn't there at the appointment, I do know my wife agreed he got a burst of energy while at the vets office, so it is possible his eye did look OK at the moment. However, according to my wife, since it looked fine it wasn't something that was really examined. I feel that this company took complete advantage of my wife and am currently considering getting a second opinion and a lawyer.

We absolutely love going to MAH!! They are nothing but the best to our girl. When she walks in she loves seeing familiar faces & LOVES Dr. Callahan. We wouldn’t send our fur baby anywhere else.

We recently moved to the area and have begun taking our 3 dogs to MAH and couldn’t be happier. They are always able to get us in when needed, the entire staff is professional and courteous and overall they are just amazing! They treat each of our pups as if they were their own and take great care of them!
