Hanover Green Veterinary Clinic Mechanicsville, Virginia

Been taking my kitties here for years and I recently moved away and now my kitties are in care of a new vet. Apparently my kitty has a severe gum disease that the people here never caught and now my poor kitty has to go under anesthesia to get teeth removed. The new vet place found out about this only on the first visit for the usual wellness exam (new vet place located in shortpump) However, it saddens my heart to know that Hanover Green did NOT catch this horrible development, even when I visited them just a few weeks ago for the same wellness check for the same kitty. It’s a shame my kitty has been suffering for a long time (as the gum disease case is sever and resulted in teeth dissolving) and my vet never told me about this. Please go to another practice for the wellness of your pet!! They also never update me for expired vaccines like rabies shot, being overdue for months. Edit after seeing owner's response (1/19): Even if they do want to reach out, the damage is already done, and I still have to dish out a LOT of money to have their mistake corrected. A caring vet would do everything in their power to make sure they do a good job, and I cannot believe they were negligent to properly care for my furbaby.

I just wanted to say how appreciative of Hanover green I am. They’re responsive, accommodating and have my pets best interest at heart. Would 100 percent recommend them to any pet owner!

Friendly, attentive, and most importantly, no matter how busy they are, you get your fur baby seen.

Myself and my husband were very pleased with Hanover green vet. They took us at the last minute and very sympathetic when we lost our pet of 10 years we really appreciated their kindness and service.

Unfortunately my cat Simon suffered a stroke. While there was nothing anyone could have done for him by the time we got there. The people here were so kind, both to him and me.

I cannot say enough good things about this office and all the angels that work here. Even my grumpiest cat likes it there. They helped me through an incredibly hard time as one of my babies was fading from this earth. They went above and beyond in so many ways. I truly would not have made it through without them. There really just arent enough good words!

The staff is friendly, but they don't seem to really care about the pets. Also they are way over priced. The "kitten package" is a complete rip off. I got it but it was not worth it at all. They will also tell you cheaper prices over the phone and then hand you a bill for double what they told you. I walked out today and I'm not bringing my cat back there ever.

I lived in the RVA area for a little over 4 years (2017 to 2021) and Hanover Green was the ONLY vet I took my three cat babies to outside of a couple of specialist visits (which HGVC referred me directly to). I drove over 30 minutes, more in traffic, to take my cats here. I cannot praise Dr. Jesper, Dr. Creasey, and the wonderful staff of vet techs enough. They loved and cared for my cats the way I love and care for my cats. They were so understanding of my financial situation and did their best to offer the most affordable treatments when needed. Also, as an anxious cat mom, the vets and techs never dismissed my concerns or questions, but made sure I felt at ease about my cats' health, especially if they were sick. My calls were always answered and returned. While I was happy to leave RVA, leaving HGVC was the hardest thing.

Took my miniature poodle on an emergency visit when others turned me away. Kind and organized staff. Now all 3 of my fur babies are patients!

We had a terrible accident while doing yard work and my girl was injured. When everyone turned us away, I stumbled upon Hanover Green Veterinary Clinic and I am truly bless I did. They were able to stitch her back to new. She can be a little stubborn when she is scared and being an 80 pound Great Pyrenees that isn't always easy. They kept her calm and didn't have to put under anesthesia while taking care of her injury. I will forever now be a patient of this amazinug vet.

I took my stray cat in here when I first got her. They told me she was not spayed or microchipped and we made an appointment to get her spayed. After putting her through having to get blood work done and an entire day with no food and stuck in her crate (8 hours) they did the surgery to find that she was in fact spayed. She ended up having to spend another 3 hours there before I could pick her up. A day of torture for my cat that all could have been avoided if they had been more competent. They weren't even apologetic, acting like this is common oversight. I will not be back.

All the secretaries seem to not have a smiling face when you enter for your animals appt. There unfriendly and do not make small talk at all or have any feelings towards how you are feeling in regards to your hurt pet or understanding of a high bill. That also goes for the 2 vets here as well. If I'm bringing my animal in to get what I can afford done then you shouldn't be felt like your not doing enough. Some do not take their animals to a vet at all and you should be able to make payments on your bills i would bring my animal more if I could. I'm choosing another vet

Called with a serious concern about puppy health. It was an hour before closing and they were able to see us. Wonderful group of Veterinarian and techs.

Hanover Green Veterinary Clinic is the only place I use for boarding my dog Mason. If my daughter is not able to watch him, Hanover Green is the ONLY place I trust. I would rather cancel a trip than take Mason to any other place for boarding.

Very pleased with the staff, all their kindness and care. I had an emergency visit with one of my feral cats on a sat and they took him in, died him up and all this w/o an appointment. Couldn't ask for anymore than what they've done !!!

Great vets and staff. Have been a customer for over 30 years. My animals are happy with the affection and care they receive.

Friendly staff and knowledge doctors willing to listen, be patient with questions and provide options for care. I have always felt that my pets have had the best possible care. Very appreciative of the safety measures currently in place.

Dr. Jesper and staff showed such compassion today as I had to have my 18 year old cat put down.
