We have always been treated with kindness and compassion by everyone at Hanover Animal Hospital—from the receptionist to the vet techs to the doctors. We have been going here since 1994–i cannot recommend Hanover Animal Hospital highly enough!

I've had so many vets over the years and this one is the best I've ever seen. My cat broke his leg horribly and they took such good care of him. Everyone there from the front office to Tyler the tech and both the doctors who worked on him were so great. I can't recommend Hanover highly enough. They really care about you and your pet. A wonderful place.

Sadly, after 25+years with Dr. Billeter, for the best interest of my dogs and cat, I absolutely must seek a new vet. Once he retired, the new vets are all consumed with loading the coffers with lots of unnecessary tests and expenses. My most recent visit was with Dr. Beadles who repeatedly told me she has 22yrs in the industry. In the meantime, my pup was there for his next round of puppy shots but was exhibiting some signs of distress. After 3hrs and $700 in xrays and blood work, turns out he just needed to poop! The vet never asked pertinent questions, just scared the hell out of me telling me his liver was failing! Holy cow, how far this vet practice has fallen.

We've been taking our girls to Hanover Animal Hospital for years. There is no other vet I would trust my girls with. Everyone there, from the front staff, the technicians and the veterinarians are awesome.

I am very grateful for Hanover Animal Hospital. My old lady Labrador Retriever had a non-routine surgery here today. It was a nerve-wrecking day for me, but the communication was terrific and my stress was quickly eased by their wonderful care. My dog is now home and resting comfortably. Thank you to all the doctors and staff. Today was not as scary as I was anticipating it to be, because of them!

When your pet is sick you want answers from a vet that is through. This is the place to come! I wasn't rushed in or out, and the front desk are attentive and curtious! You should check them out!!

Great caring vet office. Wonderful people. Just know that it is not a hospital. Its a clinic, You can't just walk in with your injured pet even though it says "Hospital" in big letters.

Before you take your beloved pets here, ask yourself thjs....If the vet that has been practicing for over 30 years negligently kills another staff members healthy dog during a relatively simple procedure, then how is he going to treat your animal? I can't recommend this place for anything more than a standard checkup and that is pushing it.

Amazing people. They talk to you like you’re family and are really the most caring people. I’m always greeted nicely, they never make me feel like my issues are small, and they take the best care of all my babies. Best vet and staff!

We were traveling through town and had a dog with a vomiting issue. Hanover Animal Hospital was able to fit us in and Dr. Tyson took his time examining our dog. He was very thorough and explained his thoughts and how he wanted to treat our dog. I was very pleased with the hospital and the staff. If I lived in the area - this would easily be my regular vet.

Hanover Animal Hospital helped us when we were unable to schedule an appointment with our regular vet. They diagnosed and treated my sick pup, Enzo. She's on the mend now thanks to their excellent care! Highly recommend.

The doctors and assistants at Hanover Animal Hospital are always there to spend time talking with you about you pet, to answer questions and to make sure you feel comfortable about what may be going on with your pet. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves their furry family member.

Had to have a procedure done on my 5 month old kittens front paws and this vet and staff were awesome. Guided me thru every step- the only drawback was i had to go elsewhere to get medication-that was definitely required after i picked up my kitten. Would have been far less traumatic for me and my newest family member if we could have gotten RX at location and then go straight home after his overnight stay from procedure-But they were awesome and he healed perfectly!

We have taken our pets to Hanover Animal When Dr. Billiter was in the shopping center with Food Lion. They have helped us out tremendously especially when 1 of our dogs got into rat poison. The doctor rode to the emergency vet with my husband. Dusty luckily survived the ordeal with their help.

The staff and doctors are very friendly and caring. I never wait long for my cat to be seen. The doctors take plenty of time with me to listen to my concerns and give me guidance. This a wonderful office with animal lovers working there!!

After 5 years of using this clinic I've found their diagnostic and service level declining. The last two years the answer was "not sure but lets give $60 antibiotics and see how she responds, or put her down". This was on top of the expensive visit fees. Results worsen to a point where I took her to another clinic to find out it was cancer and she put on pain meds and treatment for skin rash. Results were seen in two days and now after a weeks, she is back up and active. The cancer is still there but now we know and understand what to watch for.

Dr. Billiter and Dr. Tyson are truly passionate about their craft. Very kind, caring to all of their patients and owners. The staff is courteous, prompt and helpful. The hospital is always clean. We will never take our pets anywhere else.

After 5 years, these comments still hold true! "These folks have provided responsive and caring service to our pets over many years. From helping us with a pup with a habit of crewing up sticks and getting them caught in his mouth, to helping shepherd our cats through the latter years of very long lives, we have always been pleased with their service." We are down to one cat, but still appreciate Hanover animal hospital for our veterinarian needs.

Dr. Tyson has been performing my cat’s annual visits for the past seven years and has been amazing!

Been going here since 2016 with my cat. Our experience started out wonderful, but has slowly devolves to the point where I’m taking him to a new vet. Hanover dismisses my concerns about sedating my aggressive cat, refuses to return my calls, ignored the new vet when they reached out for records, and has just left a sour taste when it comes to interactions with some staff. Dr. Tyson was awesome dealing with my cat, I’m assuming it was front desk staffing that gave us the run around over the phone. Thanks for a couple of years of good care, at least.

BEWARE!!! If you do decide to bring your loved family members here, get a second opinion. Demand further explanations or examinations if you aren’t satisfied with an answer of a diagnosis. If this review can help save the life of a loved pet, then our job is done. This is what happened to our little lady. We brought our 12-year-old Shih Tzu, Marlee, here because we noticed blood in her urine. The doctor diagnosed her with bladder stones. She was put on a special diet that “would help dissolve” the stones, as well as prevent any new ones from forming and antibiotic for a UTI. It was explained that it could take up to 6 months before the stones would be dissolved. “Ok, fine. Some comfort for our lady”, we thought. Fast forward a couple months and blood was starting to show in her urine again which means another vet visit. We were only told that the stones were “clearer”. She was put on another round of antibiotics for a UTI and we were advised to return for a follow-up visit in 2 months. At around the 2-month mark, we were once again seeing blood in her urine which ended up in yet another visit. A sonogram was performed, and the doctor suggested bladder surgery to be scheduled to remove the stones. We were never told how many stones were present or the severity of the situation. The surgery was scheduled for 3 weeks out!!! Yes, 3 weeks! 10 days from the scheduled surgery, Marlee was throwing up, visibly shaking, and panting. We took her to the VRCC Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Manakin-Sabot. The doctor there performed an x-ray and advised us that she has 70-80!!! bladder stones in her bladder and that one of the stones had moved into her urethra causing a blockage. Emergency surgery was scheduled for the next morning. During the surgery, the stone causing the blockage was so big that the surgeon had to break it up with his fingers so it could pass. The surgery went as well as it could, but it was found that some urine had leaked into her abdomen causing mild sepsis. She was a very sick little lady. She continued to improve during the weekend and our hopes were high that she would be coming home soon. On Monday, August 10th, at 5 pm, we received a phone call from the hospital that our sweet baby had passed away from cardiac arrest caused by a blood clot. We cannot praise VRCC Emergency Veterinary Hospital enough for everything they did to save her. They were in constant contact with us and gave us all the information available. We only wish they had a general practice! The necessary surgery should have been performed months before it came to this. The surgeon that performed the emergency surgery told us that he would be filing a report on this situation. We were constantly assured that the stones were “clearing up”. This is borderline malpractice and it’s very hard to not be angry about the series of events that led us to this point and to the loss of a most loved family member. No one, pet or human, deserves an ending like this. BEWARE!!!
