I called this place last week concerning the failing health of our beloved bullmastiff Sasha. Sasha has been deteriorating over the last couple of months because of her age, 12, so we knew she was extremely uncomfortable and I decided to go online and find a Vet who would be able to make a house call to put Sasha to rest. I called and spoke to one of the assistants and explained our situation and I was informed that the standard price of euphanizing a dog Sasha’s size was $295.00 period. I asked if I could speak to the Vet who would be making the house call ( by the way we live off Coffee Road, less than a mile away) so I was told the Vet wouldn’t be back until Tuesday morning around 9:00 and that she would call me back to see if we could work something out with high price. Tuesday rolled by and no return phone call so I called again yesterday (Wednesday January 12) to speak to the Vet but again she was off and I left another message for her to call me back since Sasha was going down hill quickly and we were making every effort to make her comfortable. Today, Thursday January 13 at 9:00 AM Sasha passed away and approximately an hour and a half later I get a voicemail from this wonderful and compassionate Animal hospital that there’s no compromise on the price, the Vet is too busy to even talk to me and basically good luck finding someone else to put Sasha out of her misery! This is what you get when an international corporation like Mars buys up all the animal hospitals around the country, it’s nothing but big business and big money but rest assured VCA, I will never inquire of your services or use them after what you put our family through, it’s not about compassion anymore it’s about the almighty dollar.

I had a great experience at my dog's appointment today! Everyone was very friendly and helpful even though I had a million questions and they have a Care Club plan for $35/month for a year that makes initial puppy shots much more affordable! I definitely recommend them! **Edit- I just downloaded the VCA app and it's awesome! They have a chat feature that allows you to ask a real vet questions whenever you want! They also had tons of helpful info and you can schedule/cancel appointments and access all of your pet's medical records. Seriously amazing resource!

Took my cat cosmo in for a visit and the staff was wonderful! This was our first time at this clinic and we will not be going anywhere else. We only waited to go back for less than 5 minutes and the vet came in very shortly after. They answered all my questions and were so gentle with Cosmo. I recommend them to anyone looking for a vet ☺

My family recently adopted a dog from the Campbell County Animal Control facility, and he came with a two-week health guarantee that we could use at any VCA facility. As Boonsboro was the closest, and where he was originally seen with the shelter, I called for their help and suggestion on what to do since he had not been eating/drinking or pooping/peeing well. The woman I spoke with had a hard time pulling him up in the computer, and once she did finally find him (with a little help from me), she only wanted to make an appointment with the vet who had originally seen him. Fine, but that vet was not available for FOUR DAYS! The woman then told me my best recourse was to go to the emergency vet clinic to have the dog seen since he COULD have something that needs to be treated right. I asked her if we could see another vet, and she said there was a vet available the next day but she didn’t know how to do that on the computer. So I asked if there was someone else I could speak with who could do it, and she said, “No, she’s on the phone.” REALLY!!!!??? At the point, I gave up and told the woman to never mind. I find it appalling that an animal hospital would offer free services to newly adopted shelter pets and then refuse to make an appointment when their opinion is that the dog needs to be seen right away. I cannot believe that we were treated in this manner. I will also note that I called the Animal Hospital of Lynchburg (where we had been taking our other dog for 6.5 years) and spoke with the people there about my dog. They were of the opinion that it is simply an adjustment period problem and gave me several ideas to entice the dog to eat. They did not feel like a visit was necessary, and certainly did not see that a visit to the emergency clinic was needed. Boonsboro lost a potential new client (as they are much closer to us than our old vet), and I will certainly be sure to warn people off them when asked.

How do I give zero stars? Really?? I have to give them 1 star?! I called yesterday to make an appointment for my dad's dog. I let the receptionist know that I lived out of town and would be handling the payments and gave her my number. She …

This is the best vet clinic I have went to. We did the free walk in check in for our first time and they took really great care of our cats. They did a wellness exam right in front of us and were so kind to get us a 2 free doses of revolution for our cats and also packed us a wonderful gift bags to take home for the kittys. The gift bags included toys for the cats which they love to play with them. I really recommend people to go here. They deserve 5 stars because of their customer service!!!

After moving to the area, I found Boonsboro and scheduled neuters/declawing in-person for my cats. When I asked for an estimate a few times, it was never given to me. When I went to pick the cats up, they had told me that the declaw hadn't …

I've never really had a bad experience with this vet, they are just really expensive. I have a small dog and her yearly exam (with no prescriptions) cost around $300. After my dog was in a bad situation and I took her to the emergency vet I …

For almost 29 years our dogs have been cared for by the folks at Boonsboro Animal Hospital. We've been through tough times and the sadness of saying good-bye, but we've also had the joy of good health and timely intervention and many years of happy and healthy Poodles . Nobody could ask for better care or more compassion than from Dr. Case and Dr. McConnell and all the staff at Boonsboro Animal Hospital. They are always willing to help, educate and provide the latest and best standard of care. We are so grateful to them.

They do good work, but it is awfully expensive. They've given me the "hard sell" on a lot of extra procedures that - while they would benefit my pet - might not have been completely necessary. All that being said, I still take both my cats to this hospital, and have been pleased with the work they've done on both of them.
