Sad i wish i could adopt them all so bad

One of the bigger animal shelters in the area with a lot of pets to choose from. It was a little crowded when we went and I'm not sure how stressful it is for the animals to have that many strangers running around.

My fiancé and I went back in October for one kitten…needless to say we came home with two! From the moment we walked in I knew we’d be leaving with a new family member. The facility itself was so clean and so nice. The staff were all so friendly. Bringing home both babies was a thought of ours but was ultimately confirmed when one of the staff members mentioned us doing so. Turned out to be an amazing idea, these two are obsessed with each other and our pup!!

We always adopt our dogs! Adoption is precious and don't ya just love dogs? If I owned a million acres, I'd adopt them all.

Staff was very helpful. All of the animals were very well taken care of.

I just emailed them today and asked them for assistance in finding a home for a little abandoned kitty from my apartment complex. First they asked me for pictures (for the record, he is a gorgeous, tiger-striped cat). After they received the pictures, they told me to contact Campbell County Animal Control, the facility with the highest kill rate for cats in the entire State of Virginia. Perhaps others have had a so-called "great experience" with Lynchburg Humane, but I found this entire episode to be quite reprehensible. Evidently they only take on animals based on their appearance. Zero stars was not an option, so I was forced to click on one star, but zero stars would be a better rating. Sickening. They cannot even rehome one healthy kitten who lost his family, unless he "looks good enough" for them. Avoid this place.

Nice and clean and the pets have wonderful little homes!

Never been to a humane society so humane! It's beautiful clean and spacious. Friendly and courteous staff. Hopefully they get puppies soon. Son turned 4 yesterday and no puppies was a bummer but still had to give 5 stars

Adult dogs had the back smelling bad.

Beautiful facility and the employees are great! They have a program where you can "sign out" a dog and walk them or have them for the day. Really good for all involved.

Good place to go and adopt a pet.

Was no help AT ALL in resolving an issue with neighbor leaving cats behind two months ago. The Humane Society said NO THEY ARE COMMUNITY CATS???? TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!!!!!

This facility is exceptional. I was astonished at how professional and clean this establishment is. The staff are amazing. Everyone there seemed knowledgeable about the adoptees they had there waiting for their forever homes.

The nicest and cleanest I've ever seen....all of the dogs have plenty of room in their kennels and the cat rooms are pretty amazing......they all seemed very well taken care of and loved.

Wonderful experience; helpful staff. Adopted two precious kittens. First, we adopted a kitten, but we loved it so much that we decided to also fostered through the Humane Society, which proved to be an exciting and educational experience. In the end, we fell in love with our foster kitten and adopted her, as well. Pictured are Silvy and Nemo.

Sent an email asking 2-3 simple questions after finding it was supposed to be the preferred method of communication. Didn't get an answer for a business day and called only to get an automated system that never connected me with anyone and told me to email yet again. Got an email back with no answers to any of my questions

Unfortunately received no help from them to help us find a dog that should we should have been told was feral and wouldn't be a good house dog. My experience two years ago was much better than now. New management? I don't know. The young ladles that work there are very rude. Talk bad about customers in front of other customers. All I can say is there is only one worker i saw who was going above and beyond cleaning out stalls and loving on animals. I wish i knew her name.... The rest of the staff needs a wake up call and better training to be informed on how to people better.

Lynchburg is a awesome place and I love it so much

Did a rescue transport to here from Mississippi. Arrived at 2 am. Plenty of dedicated volunteers met us here. Thank you guys for all you do!

Took a friend to adopt a rescue dog and the process was long as they wanted to do an overnight first to see if it was a good fit and lots of paper work but I think the overnight was a good thing (which was two nights not one) and everything went well so she ended up bringing home a beautiful 3 yr old blue and white female pitbull named Opal. She's been renamed but all in all I'd recommend Lynchburg Humane society for pet adoptions. I will note that Opal was very frightened when we took her back after the overnight and shook like a leaf until we got her back to the car. Idk why she was so scared there but I hope it was just the environment and nothing more. She's a very happy girl now and had a living home so that's all that matters. Anyone interested in a pet please go rescue an animal from Lynchburg Humane society and give them a good home.
