Surprised to see Dr. Fernandez still working here after she killed my dog. (2019) Update 2022: Our dog never made it after three days in the ICU, with round the clock intensive care due to an anesthesia overdose. This was confirmed by a neurologist at the Emergency hospital who came to review his case. I’m shaken to see that another person has experience this at the hands of this hospital in such a short time period. John, I’m not sure how to find you but please contact me. Clearly this hospital is negligent and needs to be held responsible.

Great Falls Animal Hospital has been taking great care of our Beany, a rescue cat who walked out of the woods into our hearts more than 18 years ago. They've seen him through one serious illness and have kept him strong with a variety of ongoing meds. They are always caring and considerate. Can't say enough good about the entire staff.

Come here for your loved ones! Dr. Cook and staff are the best around. This place is so good that they even take care of wild life that is in need of help! They really love animals at this vet.

Always available, no question unaddressed. I feel like they care as much about our dogs as we do! All the docs are warm and fuzzy. You can tell everyone there has lots of experience, and just seems like a happy place to work.

My cat has been in and out of the woods with various medical concerns, but I am always confident that she will be well cared for at Great Falls Animal Hospital. Visits are comprehensive and everyone is always friendly. Anytime I've called for a refill or request, they follow through promptly.

We have had our pets seen at Great Falls Animal Hospital for years and always with caring professional service. Last week we had an exceptional visit with Dr. Gina Blevins who saw our 15 year old cat. She addressed his weight problems with specific suggestions, his joint discomfort with medications and ways to help with his challenges and ways to manage his medium length coat better than just brushing him. She was generous with her time and the care given our dear cat.

They are the most caring people I’ve ever met, even when it came to my “devil cat”. The vet was honest, which I definitely appreciated, and talked me out of a bad decision. I would love to bring my fractious cat back here but she has a three year ban ???? (until her next Rabies vaccine). Seriously the best kind of providers, and I am so grateful for their services!

We have been going here for the past 7 months to take care of our two pups, and they have been the best vet clinic that we have ever been to. It is clearly evident that they care about each pet they see, and we always feel very confident in their advice and recommendations. They even worked our puppy into their busy schedule to see her for an urgent matter and went above and beyond to make sure our little one was safe and secure to go home.

When our vet of many years moved to Pittsburgh two years ago, we switched to Dr. Kalinsky at Great Falls Animal Hospital. Dr. Kalinsky has been a fantastic vet to our four dogs. We lost one of our dogs soon after we met Dr. Kalinsky. Our dog was an old English Mastiff rescue with fear and trust issues. In the short time that Roxie was a patient, Dr. Kalinsky worked cooperatively with us about how to manage her appointments. Dr. Kalinsky is so smart, knowledgeable, and concerned about our animals. She is very sweet and gentle with them. She is very responsive and works hard to figure out the cause of problems and treat it appropriately. The staff is also very helpful and responsive. During covid when we could not go in with our dogs to appointments, we had no concerns at all about how they would be treated when we were not present. Our dogs actually enjoy going to the vet! We drive all the way from Centreville to go to this practice.

We adopted a rescue sheltie mix in March 2020. Even though at the time of adoption we were told she was heart worm free, not long after adoption, our dog was diagnosed with heartworms. Our vet, Dr. Leanne Kalinsky, patiently and thoroughly explained the prolonged treatment process including the serious risks involved. In addition, she patiently answered our questions. made herself available to us and offered us support at every step. Every every member of the Great Falls Animal Staff was professional, caring and compassionate. We are very grateful to them and will obviously continue to stay with them for our dog's needs. We heartily recommend GFAH to anyone who is seeking an animal hospital.

Recently we had a medical emergency involving our beloved family pet, Parker. We are regular patients of the practice and I called with the details. They immediately scheduled a visit and through a complete examination prescribed the solution. It is in these situations that the care, compassion and professionalism is so needed and appreciated. Thank you so much.

We have been taking our pets to Great Falls AH for 10 years and have always had a postive experience...the vets are excellent and sometime go above and beyond what they need to do. The techs are wonderful, caring, and are great at making the pets (and owners) comfortable. Highly recommend.

The car in front of us hit a squirrel and kept going. We could see the little buddy struggling, pulled over, and we're able to scoop him up safely. We tried to get him some help at a couple nearby animal hospitals, including several recommended by the wildlife rescue, with no luck. Thankfully, Great Falls Animal Hospital was happy to take him, and they were able to save his life, and his leg, and transferred him for to the rescue for rehab--and they wouldn't take a cent! We really appreciated their willingness to go the extra mile for a suffering animal!

I found a little wild injured bunny. I called and visited pet hospitals in the loudoun county but none were open. I call great falls animal hospital and they told me to bring him in. Which I did. I hope the little one is okay. Thank you for answering so quickly and volunteering to take care of the wild animal. I made a little donation today. I will definitely be donating to you guys every year. ????????

This is such a fabulous veterinary practice. All of their doctors, vet techs, front desk folks, and everyone else who works there are truly top notch, caring, and very professional. I especially appreciate that no one here ever upsells; they know just what your animal needs and will actually try to save you money when they can. I like to tell the staff that if they also did human medicine, I would be their patient too. ????

GFAH has become a pale shadow of the service provider I had used for over 23 years, eager to double-charge me while at the same time they failed to provide the actual service I was double-charged for (in my case, a blood test for one of my dogs). Nor did they follow up in any way, shape, or form - I still have no clue what the $224.97 blood test results indicate. Along the way, they added $18 in interest charges before even alerting me to their desire to charge me twice for the same service. Further, I have lost faith in their ability to provide adequate veterinary care, and it seems about half of the staff have a unique take on customer service, somehow thinking surliness is the correct approach when the customers have any questions. And do not put stock in any promises to "call you tomorrow with the test results" - at least half of my test results were only revealed after I proactively sought them out from GFAH several days after they promised to push the results to me. Also in August, they refused to refill a heartworm prescription without a new heartworm blood test and then failed to perform that test during the $412.15 visit that was expressly for the allegedly required heartworm test, and then provide the heartworm meds (without doing the test). Also, they literally killed one of my dogs with an overdose of anesthesia while they spayed her, then claimed ignorance to wash their hands of any semblance of responsibility. (Fortunately my dog was resuscitated, and after 3 months of intensive home care and rehabilitation she began to walk and feed on her own, though she became developmentally disabled in the process and never fully recovered.)

I was looking for a new vet. At our old vet we would insist on going into the back whenever they took our canine loved one back for treatment. We do this because we are well aware of how easy it is for individuals who cannot speak up for themselves to be abused while their guardians are not present. Think of what we know happens in nursing homes and child care businesses. Why would you not expect neglect or abuse to happen in a vet practice? Worse, if it does happen you have no legal recourse because the law considers non-human family members "property". I want to do all I can to watch over my canine loved ones and protect them, because I am so well aware of horrible abuses in the world. How often have people said they had no idea children were being abused in a house where the parents seemed so nice? If parents abuse human children, why would I not want to ensure a vet, vet tech, or other employees at a vet practice are treating my canine loves ones well? During Covid it is even worse because we cannot even be present in the exam room, much less the treatment areas. I submitted an intake form and requested a first visit from Great Falls Animal Hospital. I explained that I needed treatment for my canine loved one who is experiencing bouts of diarrhea a sometimes has fresh blood in her stool. I explained that she is very sensitive to anyone examining her rectum and I requested that she be sedated prior to examination and I said I would have a camera mounted on her harness so I can see how she is being treated. The lead vet replied that based on my concerns they would not be the vet for us. She should have called me to discuss my concerns and options, instead of writing a curt response denying us treatment. I was very angry when I called the vet practice and left a voicemail for the lead vet to call me. She did not. I responded to her email "So you are saying you are not willing to treat patients with care" and I got the response: "That's what she said!" Now, maybe they were being defensive and reacting badly because I was angry, but if my loved one was human would a hospital refuse to treat her because her guardian is angry? I cannot explain that response, but it looks to me like they are saying they are not willing to treat patients with care. I wonder if they are also unwilling to allow me to record what they are doing to my loved one. Why would a vet practice be so opposed to visibility and compassionate care? I think we need a national law requiring any business that has control over someone who cannot defend themselves (veterinarian practices, nursing homes, day care for human children and other-than-human loved ones, etc) to have CCTV and provide legal guardians with access codes so that they can watch over their loved ones.

Great experience for our first visit! Due to Covid, we were not able to have a face to face with the doctor. We had a conference call while our puppy was in the office, and Dr. Blevins was very patient with all of our questions. She is knowledgeable and very thorough. Highly recommend!

Great Falls Animal Hospital is the best. They took excellent care of our chocolate lab for his entire life. They have also taken great care of our rescue mix (part husky/korean jindo/etc.?) since he was a pup. And he is a little more high maintenance with his anxiety of being at the vet, but he is so much better with his visits. Each animal is truly a different patient with different needs and concerns, and they understand that! Every single human there is a consummate professional with a warm spot for animals.

Great Falls Animal Hospital is the best animal hospital we have ever experienced. Great customer care on the phone and check-in, wonderful care and medical treatment of animals, and excellent doctors willing to spend time to explain anything about your pet's condition. On one occasion, they diagnosed a cancerous tumor immediately, after another vet hospital had said "don't worry about it".
