I always have complete confidence that my dog will receive the very best care from the Holiday Barn staff. It's easy to make a reservation; the registration process is efficient; the facility is clean. I would not leave my dog with anyone else. These folks really love our pets!

My 2 dogs love going to Holiday Barn! They've each attended one-on-one training classes which have helped them become really well behaved dogs! The both love to attend Day Camp and Enrichment classes. They are always happy and clean when we bring them home after boarding, and they're just as happy when we drive down Mountain Road to the Holiday Barn driveway the next time!

We are very happy with Holiday Barn Pet Resort. We know that our dog Max, is being cared for and loved by staff.

We've been using the daycare services at Holiday Barn Pet Resorts for the last 6 months for our dog. He loves it and always comes back home tired (which we love), with a report card of how his day was. We have very high standards for who we let take care of our dog, (before finding Holiday Barn, we tried 2 others here in RVA where we did not feel comfortable leaving him), but it has not been an issue at Holiday Barn. The staff is very friendly and professional, and they gave us a tour to show us the facility where our dog would be staying and answered all of our questions. The facility is always clean, and the staff seems to take really good care of the dogs. We highly recommend.

Clean, sunny rooms and staff is great. No bad smells due to the staff keeping each building clean 24/7. Not upset to leave my girls there while I go on a vacation knowing they will be well taken care of. ???????????????????????????????? I will be boarding my girls in February and feel they will watch over my dogs and call me if there are any concerns as my one dog is going through cancer surgery for the second time and I got the feeling they will take very good care of both dogs while staying in the Presidential Suite at Holiday Barn. ???? I will follow up with my review after their vacation is over.????

Wow! Our dog absolutely loves Holiday Barn and I recommend it to anyone who wants to be sure their pet is loved and cared for. It truly is "wagtastic!"

We decided to get a new puppy since we were all home because of Covid. We quickly decided it was very important to us that our new puppy, Louis, be properly trained. We wanted Louis to be obedient but to also be trained for off leash obedience. Holiday Barn was recommended by a neighbor and I am so glad that they were! I cannot say enough good things about their training program. Louis started training at week one a wild puppy! At the end of training he is now a well behaved member of the family. He can travel with us. He can take leash walks without dragging us along. He follows directions, all with easy to follow instructions from the trainers! The trainers at Holiday Barn even trained Louis to be obedient and follow directions while off his leash! It is so wonderful to be able to have him at the River playing frisbee or running around knowing that all I have to do is ask him to “come” and he does! No worry that he will run off! I can’t say enough good things about the training and treatment of our dog at Holiday Barn Pet Resort! They treat him like family! He loves going to “school “ and we feel good about taking him there for a day or longer!

I’ve been taking my dog here for 10 years and I am tired of the poor service. They ask you questions regarding grooming and still do not get it right. Why bother? How simple is, leave a 1/2 inch on body and legs? They ask every time and still refer back to one time 3 years ago info.

Pat makes it easy to make a reservation for boarding. My dog loves visiting the Glen Allen location. She happily leaves me at the pet portal with a staff member and happily returns smelling clean. They are detail oriented when it comes to - dates, food, play time, grooming etc. I feel confident leaving town knowing my dog will be cared for. Highly recommend them!

We have boarded our three large dogs with Holiday Barn several times and have always had excellent experiences! This past time, our dogs were misbehaving and nipping at each other. They immediately called and put our boys in separate spaces to keep them safe. They are exceptional at keeping in communication with us, and our boys always come home super clean! Admittedly, our dogs are a bit rowdy, large, and hard to manage, but Holiday Barn always accepts them with love. I highly recommend them!

Holiday Barn has been fabulous for our dog’s needs. Caring, kind, helpful staff, clean facility, and most of all, she likes to visit! Wonderful company, highly recommended!

Diana is the best !!!! She has been grooming our dog for years. Always perfection. Our pet recognizes her name when we tell him where we’re going for the day and can’t wait to return. All the staff here is top notch. Thanks for everything always. See you again in the future.

EDIT - I changed my star rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. The staff at Holiday Barn responded to my google review, I think, in less than 12 hours and I received 2 phone calls from the actual trainer, not just someone in management apologizing on behalf of the trainer. That to me shows they are concerned about all of the animals well being and health at this facility. I boarded my dog/he did the training week with holiday barn and I was impressed with how some of his mannerisms have improved, but I was disappointed to not be made aware of something that was on him during his stay when I called twice to check in on him. He was there for 5 days of training while I was on vacation. When I returned home I noticed this bloody bump (wart looking) on the top of his paw. I had no idea what it was, so I asked the trainer when we went in for the follow up appointment on his training. She mentioned they did notice it, but just thought it was an old growth and an animal care employee looked it and wasn't worried. I was annoyed by her response because I called Holiday Barn twice during his stay to check on him and see how he was doing and never once was I asked if he had a previous growth on his paw that they noticed. It was clearly a big enough concern for them to have their animal care employee examine it, but not enough to mention it to the owner of the animal. If it was mentioned, it's definitely something I would have arranged for my roommate to pick him up and take him to the actual vet to be examined, because I ended up having to do that anyways and he's on antibiotics because of it.

I was quite anxious when I left Bunny. He had never stayed in a kennel, let alone for 11 days. I had previously left my other dogs there and had wonderful experiences. I highly recommend the play times offered. It makes it seem more like home. The staff is always so kind and truly seem to care about your pet; you can see it in their eyes. Of course I love the 'report cards' you get regarding your pets stay. The staff is always so good to me when I call; yes I am that Mom that calls every day! Highly recommend Holiday Barn Glen Allen!

My two cats had a staycation here which meant that they just stayed for the day. Everyone I spoke to was extremely polite and definitely had a huge heart for animals. They were fed their breakfast but they weren’t fed their dinner which was a little annoying to come to hungry cats, but I did pick them up around dinner time. The only change I would ask for would be more communication about how their day was such as what potty movements did they do, did they sleep or enjoy looking out the window, a little pawgress report would’ve been nice! All in all a great place to leave your pets if you need them out of the house for the day but there could’ve been some changes.

Three weeks ago I took my dog Jack to this place for the very first time from Friday evening until Monday afternoon and I would highly recommend them again. I can tell they took great care of Jack when I went to pick him back up from there. I think he enjoyed himself and if I need them again I would surely take Jack back to them. Thank you so much staff for earning my trust by taking care of my baby, Jack.

As a former employee, I can honestly say the animals are not being treated with the quality of care you would expect. Management is incredibly immature and unqualified. It is such a shame to have watched day after day dogs being neglected by pet care associates and by management.
