I should have read these reviews first! ???? I'm super sad to report that I also experienced very poor customer service at this location. I am very disappointed after my BABY pet's FIRST visit to Banfield, Kentlands. The front desk ladies were trying to be helpful, however, it was very uncomfortable and awkward trying to talk to them. Once I declined some of the services they suggested to me, it got even more uncomfortable. ????‍♂️ The sad part is I totally understand they are the professionals, and I should listen to them, but they should have my pet's best interest at heart. I've done my research, I have my pet's best interest in mind and I explained how I have an appointment scheduled for my pet to be neutered, next month, and the services that they were recommending would be completed at that time. The tech at the desk confirmed that was fine and my pet would be okay without those services, at this time. Next, I assume the vet? came out - I'm not sure as she didn't introduce herself, or anything - and she immediately tried talking me into all the services, that I had literally just declined with the other lady, worst part is that she did this...even AFTER that lady told her I declined the services. Once she knew I was getting those services elsewhere, she immediately became rude and made me feel as if she didn't care what I had to say. I felt like she was judging me and it was ONLY about the money and not about what was best for my PET. Unfortunately, she didn't even greet my pet before taking him back for the exam. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I don't think so. Also, once the exam was complete she called me and was very brief. I had to ask her questions about the visit ????‍♂️ I expected something totally different. She didn't ask if I had any questions, or allow me to say anything about my pet, at all. There were no follow up instructions or anything, she didn't even bring out my pet so I could talk to her further, someone else did. I will say they were quick to take my money and it ended up costing much more than what they said it would cost. I wanted to say something at this point but I felt like it would be useless. I just wanted to get my pet home. I'm very disappointed and I was hoping our first experience would be a memorable one. Unfortunately, I guess it is, but for the wrong reasons. Its unlikely we'll ever return to this Banfield location. I would prefer our vet be much more compassionate and understanding, also being a good listener would be important. After all this is a new pet and a huge commitment. I understand people have bad days once in a while, and I thought maybe that was the case today, but after reading the reviews here, I'd say it happens more often than it does not at this location. Please treat your customers, and their pets, with respect, even when you're unable to up-sell. Respectfully, a new pet owner. ???? ????

Always Dr.McKeown! Hands down the BEST vet / person around here! Very caring and patient! Never going to the one in Frederick again, even thought we live 10mins from it !!!

Banfield as a whole has completely gone downhill since covid-19. You used be able to be seen if an urgent matter came up with your pet. In fact, they need to take “hospital” out of their name entirely since no urgent appointments are ever available. They actually told me to take my dog somewhere else. Why am I paying for a wellness plan? I’ve had a wellness plan for 10 years. When attempting to make an appointment in the app, you can select illness as being the reason for the appointment, but it doesn’t matter, because the next available appointment at any location is always a month away! They don’t care if your pet suffers for this amount of time. I will be canceling my plan and seeking another veterinarian.

The worst!!! I’ve been with Banfield for years , but this location and the whole Banfield experience has declined horribly. The current Kentlands front staff is so rude, don’t answer the phone and when they do they sound annoyed, as if saying ‘how dare you be bothering them’. Good luck getting your sick animal checked, they will tell you to bring them next month because they are fully booked. I am walking away from Banfield after years of being a customer. Save your pet and yourself a headache and find a vet truly that cares for your pet . This ain’t it . Zero stars would suit them well.

Horrible horrible service. The front desk lady looks annoyed all the time and she’s rude. They don’t care about you pet but the money only. Take your fur baby anywhere else no here pls. It looks like they treat them badly my dogs hate this place.

Never answer their phones, rude service, wildly overpriced. My dog had a lot of complication after surgery. Too much has happened at this place that show they don't care about your pet just your money, they act completely rude and unknid to the situations at hand.if you want you pet to be safe don’t go to this place

“Professional” doctors here said my puppy was neutered and it turns out he actually is not. No one from this location is taking my phone calls and expect me to buy a ridiculous amount for ANOTHER “membership” so now even MORE MONEY FROM ME when THEY MISDIAGNOSED MY DOG who can you call yourselves professionals at all. This was all in April. Til this day Manager Natalie still has not talked to me about this issue. Guarantee at their response on here will be for ME to reach out yet AGAIN WHEN THEY NEED TO REACH OUT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS

They don’t communicate their prices well at all. Five people will tell you 20 different things. Overall, a rip off and disgusting money hungry motives. I will never come to this Banfield ever again. The receptionists up front are very unprofessional and can’t get their information right to save anyone’s lives and time.

Never answer their phones, rude service, wildly overpriced. My dog could have been taking antibiotics but they decided to wait another so they could charge us for an x-ray. Too much has happened at this place that show they don't care about your pet just your money, they act completely rude and unknid to the situations at hand.

My cat was sick, so I took her to Banfield Gaithersburg. The front desk lady got up and walked away as I approached to check in, and when she came back, I told her I was there for an appointment. She seemed very annoyed. They charged over $300 for a basic blood test (that revealed nothing), two medications, and a food prescription that I had to pay for separately (which was also very expensive). Her health did not improve, so I took her to another vet, which was a bit far (Manassas, VA) but I HIGHLY recommend (Old Towne Vet Clinic). Was charged less than $200 for a new treatment that worked almost right away, AND a three year rabies shot.

Family loved dining here. The workers are dilligent, very welcoming/friendly and more improtantly they checked up on us multiple times to make sure we had what we wanted. The food was really good and there was a good variety. We also liked how they had adapted to the whole COVID 19 situation and chnged the whole buffet style of eating.

Dr. Mason is wonderful. She is extremely thorough, responsive, and kind (all the qualities you want in a vet.) I really can’t recommend her enough. Also, the staff there is wonderful. They are extremely responsive, courteous and communicative. I have never had a bad experience with them!!

I love Dr. Malone and have loved past doctors here. They're always very considerate to our old dog. They don't recommend any procedures he doesn't need and the wellness plan provides so many services without killing us financially.

Very courteous staff. Visit was during Covid-19, veterinarian called me quickly after the visit and explained to me in detail what's wrong with my aging fur child. She discussed different treatment recommendations and options available. Most of the treatment was covered under the healthy pet plan that we have for our beloved fur child.

Just wondering where the love and caring is, because they wouldnt really help me , even though I came in caring about my dog that is sick as hell but because I didnt have money for all the test , my dog was sent home like she didnt matter , when I know they could set up payment plans , so I cant say a place cares about an animal that they pretty much say , oh well come back when you get the money because without money we do not care to see your dog, yes it is all about the money ... This is my experience so Frankly do not care about anyone elses feelings about them ...

The Banfield hospital in the Kentlands, Gaithersburg, MD, followed our dog for 10 years until we had to put her to sleep. Besides the convenience of a flat monthly payment that covers most of the healthcare needs, Banfield Doctors and nurses always did a great job at taking care of her, making her and us comfortable, finding solutions, explaining issues and alternatives, and being very thoughtful all the way to the end when she had her cancer. They also understood their limits when they had to refer us to a specialized 3rd party, listening to our inputs, explaining the trade-offs and not pushing for more than reasonable. Thank you for take care of our dog all these years! I would go back to Banfield if I had another dog or cat.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG TO THIS TERRIBLE BANFIELD STORE, DRIVE A FEW MINUTES TO ANOTHER BANFIELD AROUND THERE AND THE TREATMENT WOULD BE VERY DIFFERENT. THE 2 LADYS AT FRONT DESK ARE EXTREMELY RUDE AND ALL THEY CARE IS ABOUT MONEY, THEY DONT HAVE FEELINGS IF YOUR DOG IS SICK OR NO. SO, PLEASE DONT BRING YOUR DOG HERE, THEY WILL MAKE YOU FEEL VERY BAD.

Please please read all advice to get benfield insurance very bad experience I had,so i adopted kitten and bought a pet insurance from there my kitten was 10 weeks old at that time so when she turn in 4 months I asked for Spayed appointment they said no it’s too early wait for 6 month so again I made that appointment in October they messed my appointment date and they blamed on us then they reschedule her appointment for December but I was so pissed on them then I made an appointment for Germantown location finally my cat got spayed but they said now she is 7 months old we have to pay $135 because she is now 7 months and she in heat so that will be extra work for them . First I was trying to make that appointment in 4 months they said no it’s too early they messed up my appointment,for that type of appointment you have too wait for 2 months so insurance is a trap every time they asking money .not good staff not good service they are just a trap .????

please update your hospital business hours on the website. The answering machine says 9am-7pm,but the website says 7am-7pm Monday -Saturday
