My senior dog unfortunately passed away at home. I needed guidance on the next steps for cremation services, so I contacted this vet. The website mentions hospice and compassionate care, so I thought they would be able to provide guidance in the process after a pet dies. When I called and inquired, I was met by a very rude and dismissive person answering the phone. No condolences, No assistance ,and eager to hang up the phone. I was told that they could not help , & “would not” give me any references who could. For Being a practice that advertises end of life care, I was hurt and disappointed in the response.If you are looking for compassion - save the heartache and headache, and avoid this vet.

I showed up at the office and they assisted me with out issues. The appointment was set two days later. They took care of my cat Pixie again. This was our second time.

Called today about my cat who my local vet says needs to be admitted and scheduled for an EMERGENCY endoscopy as soon as possible. Currently, the cat cannot eat, drink or meow. It's clear she will die without medical attention. My vet said to start calling everywhere to find a hospital to treat her. I did. It seems all hospitals are at admissions capacity within a 50 mile range of DC except Fredericksburg Animal Hospital. When I called the receptionist made it clear they are not taking any pet never before seen or treated by them. She will die left untreated. They did not care. So, if your pet needs emergency care this hospital is not available. Update: She died ????

This has been our vet hospital of choice for eight cats over the course of 30 years. They have always been competent and caring.

Called for an emergency to have my pups eyes checked before leaving for vacation. Unfortunately they were not taking new patients.

Had to take our baby Cleo here after an incident at the dog park. She had her head bitten a few times and her ear torn. Called ahead and they advised that they could see her promptly. Cleo was still shaken and bleeding everywhere when we arrived, but the staff was great. Vet was very gentle and handled our baby brilliantly. Got her stitched and cleaned and provided us with meds. Cleo was happy as a kid on Christmas by the time we left. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ****UPDATE: We took Cleo into to see Dr. B today, and left feeling extremely upset and taken advantage of. First, we have always LOVED Dr. B; she is wonderful with animals, and services have always been very reasonable. Today, we saw a different technician, and feel like he totally took advantage of us. He provided treatments without any real explanation and NO discussion of cost (to the tune of $200+). It was an injectable medication that he sort of 'snuck in' with her other shots without really talking to us about it. We didn't realize until we got the bill, and by then there was nothing we could do about it. VERY DISAPPOINTED. And again, we love Dr. B, but because of the service we received today, we will be looking for another vet ????

Dr. Minnear is the best!

Excellent service. What a great place to take your pet. These people actually really care about you and your pet. They understand it's a family package. They also follow up to ensure your pet is doing well. What a awesome way to take care of your customers!!!!

We have been loyal patients for more than 30 yrs. Docs Wagner, Minniear, and Bakerian are top notch in every way. Compassion, medical expertise, and gifted surgeons-what more could you ask for? We've dealt with plenty of check ups, chronic conditions, surgeries and end of life situations. All of them handled with incredible professionalism and care. We don't tell our Veterinarians and staff we love them enough. We LOVE them. They've made our lives and the lives of our animals immensely better. I don't know ow what we'd have done without them. The dog below just turned 15! She loves them too.

It's only my second time there and I'm very impressed. Appointments are on time and the Doctor and Tech's are very friendly and informative. I will return.

Quality of care has changed over recent years...

The doctors and staff are wonderfully kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They only recommend exactly what is needed to get your pet well, and will go the extra mile to try and get you an appointment on short notice. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Pet was seen and taken care of in a timely manner and staff friendly and supportive.

Very efficient and customer service is great. Very busy folks but the Doctor took as much time as I needed and did not feel rushed. They treated my pitty with compassion!

Literally did nothing for me. I’m trying to be a strong advocate for my dog but no vet will listen to me. Just paid $350 for absolutely nothing. Very frustrating when you as a pet owner know what’s best for your animal and these “professionals” keep dismissing you. Don’t waste your time here.

The doctors here are the best! We’ve trusted these courteous professionals with all of our pets for over 20 years—ferrets, poodles, Mixed breed doggies, and Jack Russell.

Expensive. My old vet trimmed nails for free with an office visit. They charge you 23.00 for a nail trim and 54.00 for an office visit that was less than 6 minutes. And they don't let me come in with my pet. Im looking for a new vet.

Amazing, Dr. Minniear is the best, great client education, I know she loves my dogs. They love her and are excited to come to the vet.

We have been using them for 18 years to take care of our pets. They are always so friendly and willing to help us anyway they can.

Loved it. They was so wonderful with my kitten.

My Chihuaha that will be 10 in March has recently developed Diabetes in January. I called the Vet and they were able to get her in, in a timely manner. We love the staff and Dr. Minniear. They explained to me in great detail on how to give her her insulin shots. She has to do 2 shots a day. I had to drop my Kookie off for the day so the Dr could moniter her blood sugar, when I dropped her off in the morning I cried and the staff was so supportive ( I felt like a baby). I would recommend this Animal Hospital to anyone. They are the best

I came here for an emergency visit for my dog and the customer service I received was amazing! I called ahead of time and they let me know that they were booked, but could fit me in. I waited no more than 30 minutes for an emergency, unscheduled visit that I thought could take hours. They were very kind and gentle with my dog and praised him after for being so good for them. I am switching to them for my dog's regular checkups from now on! Perfect customer service while also being fast and efficient!

So I’ve been to this vet before the actual doctor is fine but what isn’t is the attitude from staff and how UNCLEAR they are make sure before anything you ask because if you don’t ask they charge anyway ! according to other reviews other people have had the same problem they are not clear about exactly what they charge my dog went in for the “exam” and blood work for her surgery...I was given a estimated of roughly $813 but when I actually went to drop her off my dog there was a different price of $944 ? I asked she said that it was mandatory & law all that but point being I was NOT told this when they gave me the first estimate so I came in short and had to ask to borrow money..and the only reason I thought about holding out on this review is because I don’t want them treating my dog badly but I feel that it really needed to be said :/...keep in mind I had the estimated paper reading it to the lady on the phone NO WHERE on that paper did it say the vaccine for rabies I understand that it is “mandatory” and state law but again very unclear .
