Went in for my cat’s eye, because he was showing some signs of irritation. Most of the time, the doctor was just talking to his assistant - he didn’t explain much to us at all so I felt confused and helpless. He also said, mid exam, that my cat would have to get a full extraction of his teeth (get every tooth pulled), and then just kept going on with the exam? I had to sit down Bc I felt physically ill after hearing such big news. The way he was handling my cat felt violating like it was so aggressive and he didn’t even explain why/what he was doing during the exam??? And tbh I still don’t even know what’s wrong with his eye Bc the doctor listed so many different things? Overall this doctor didn’t hold back on telling us bad news and didn’t sugar coat anything which personally gave me a panic attack

We absolutely adore this vet and are glad to have found them! The doctors are brothers and are kind, concerned, helpful excellent vets. Thank you for all you do for our furry family members.

We've been going to Drs. Cheema for over 13 years. They are both caring and compassionate, as is their staff. They made a house call when our Ridgeback had a litter of 12 and they pick up the phone if you have an after hours emergency. I highly recommend them.

They were extremely compassionate with my Tobias. He went in for what we thought was a bad tooth. It turned out to be cancer. ???? I will ALWAYS be grateful for their love and care.

I appreciate the Drs. Cheema personal care. They take time to answer your questions and call/return calls when you have a question or concern. And even though they are a small office, with just the two brothers, they are 24/7 on call, if needed.

We really liked the veterinarian. He made certain that the new puppy was free from defects. He was also able to provide free samples of heartworm and flea and tick that saved money for the first month. We were impressed!

Decided to find a new vet and try this one based off of a recommendation from a person at the dog park: was really impressed by the vet! My previous vet was unable to diagnose the issue, but this one found it almost immediately prescribed some basic drugs and within a week he was back to full dog.

Went there with my two kittens. Had just adopted them and they were having diarrhea, vomiting and blood in stool. I called 5 different clinics in this area and could not get an appointment. First i got an appointment right away for next then for the kitten that was sick. Next day the second kitten was showing symptoms so I took them both and they were very accomodating. The doctor was very communicative, provided feedback, did physical check up and recommended some blood test and a stool test. Hopefully it is nothing serious. The doc started them on antibiotics until the stool results are out. Just writing this so anyone reading has some more information on why I visited the clinic.

We have been taking our two dogs here for a couple years and have never had an issue. I saw some negative comments for this Veterinary Hospital but the comments don't reflect our experience. We will continue to take our two furry family members here because they provide good value, are professional, and care about our pets.

The folks here are always so kind and my dog loves going here. He wags his tail and pulls to go inside and see his friends. They are very communicative and responsive and I am always able to get an appointment very quickly.

I have never written an online review before, and I doubt i will ever write one again. But I came on this website today for some info and saw a negative review that really bothered me. We took our aging dog here for several years before finally having to have her euthanized. The last two years were tough on Maggie, and we wondered for months whether we were causing her undue suffering before accepting the fact that euthanasia was the best thing. We are so deeply indebted to the doctors and their staff for the kind, compassionate way they took care of Maggie (and took care of us) during those last difficult months. Now we have a new one-year-old dog, and she is receiving the same high level of care that Maggie had. We have never had any reason to regret any decision made by either of the doctors – and they have NEVER tried to talk us into uneeded expenses. If anything, the opposite is true – they have told us of things we could have them do, but said they wouldn’t do it if it were up to them.

The service has continued to go down since the virus. I called to see if they had food for my dog and was told yes. I went to pick it up and was screemed at "there is a note on the door". The door is covered with signs. How was I supposed to know there was a new one. As I left, she made me wait outside in the cold for 15 mins until she finally brough me my credit card (yes she kept my card and I was outside) and the food. Then she screemed at me down the side walk as she let two clients in the office. The next visit my husband took my dog. All of the things we wanted we were charge for, but they were not done. You can tell if your dogs nails are trimmed.

This is a GREAT veterinary hospital! EXCELLENT care of my 12-yr-old Bishon-poo with no hidden charges. Quick and timely communication through the day. Only performed additional procedure AFTER receiving my permission. Curbside service offered during the pandemic.

If I had the ability to give 0 Stars - I would. I highly encourage everyone to find an alternative "hospital" to take your pets. The staff was fine - but the person who is supposed to matter most - The DOCTOR (Dr. Cheema) is exclusively focused on milking every dollar out of his customers. When you challenge a fee, he becomes aggressive, rude, and plays the victim. If you continue to question he'll literally hang up on you. Terrible service. No wonder they have some sort of "arrangement" with local pet stores to force you to use them.

I contacted this place after my co-worker referred me. She said they did a great job with her dog on his ACL surgery and that she also does well visits and vaccinations there. I called and the lady answering the phone said she would have the Dr. call me to give me an estimate on a soft tissue surgery to remove a cyst on my 15 year old cat after I sent in his records. He called that evening - this was an improvement already as only 2 other vet hospitals would even give me an estimate without first examining him, even though I had sent them all the records and pics documenting what he needed done after a visit to one of those hospitals on 7/31/20. I have a fractious kitty who is difficult to load in a carrier and needs to be sedated to be examined. So I asked if he could be scheduled for a sedation exam and the surgery on the same day and this office said yes! I have called 15 different offices trying to find this option, but they all want you to come in on different days for the exam, later for surgery finally, a vet clinic that puts the pet's needs first! BTW, those 24 hour emergency hospitals wanted to charge $2,600-$3,800! Dr. Cheema asked what was going on with him, said he could fit him in in 4 days, and gave me an estimate of $875. When I called back the next day with questions about the meds listed on the estimate, Dr. Cheema again called me himself, and adjusted meds (saving me more $) after answering my ?s about them, and used dissolving sutures (my request, at no extra charge). They operated as scheduled and he was ready to pick up by early afternoon, no more long, stressful day for him in a carrier at the vet! They gave me a detailed check list of his post-op care at home. I highly recommend Potomac Valley Vet! They saved me literally hundreds of dollars compared to other quotes we got. They even have a 10% coupon for new patients on their web site. Thank you so much Dr. Cheema!

I never write reviews but after I read some bad comments decided to write my thoughts about this practice. My older dog Jack is 9 years old now and I always take him to this practice we see Dr cheema all the time, I truly believe he is professional and caring, my dog was hit by a car when he was 6 months old and I thought he was going to died but Dr cheema and a specialist surgeon saved my dog’s life. When it comes to prices they charge what is fair.. I also added another Dog to our family “Leo” and he been taking care of him as well. Leo is 5 years now I honestly think this is a great and affordable place to take your pets. The receptionist Sarah is wonderful she is patience and listens to your needs as well as Dr. Cheema does. I personally recommend this practice without hesitation.

Overall a good place to take your pet. The prices are fair. However, some of the staff are dramatic, extra about the whole face mask. That's why I gave them 4 stars.

We came here to have our pet, Bella, get checked out to make sure she didn't have an infection and they were able to see us on the same day. The staff was really friendly. They have a couple jar of cookies to give to the pets so she felt right at home. She was a little reluctant with the Vet at first, but he was really friendly with her and he let her take time to get to know home and get comfortable with him. He also gave her some pocket pills so she made friends with him right away. They were able to give her some antibiotics to make sure her infection doesn't get worse. They also took some blood work so they can make sure it isn't anything that we can't see. The Vet, Dr. Sandeep also noticed that her neck has a lump that our previous Vet might have missed and told us we probably should get it removed They gave us an estimate for her surgery, which honestly, is not bad compared to other clinics in the area. They are very reasonably priced! They also have a restroom that is kept clean. Their front desk is rocked with dog food, vitamins, treats and other stuff that you would need for a pet in need. I highly recommend their team to take care of your fur babies!!!

Awesome place. I go here yearly with our large airedale/hound mix named Bear that is super strong and terrified each visit. They are so gentle and patient with the big baby. This week, Bear needed emergency attention for a wound on his neck that turned out to be a severe skin rash. Potomac Valley Veterinary took him in last minute right before closing. I am so grateful for the caring and professional staff at this hosipital. Don't hesitate to bring your loved family pet into their capable hands.

We love our vets! Both Doctors take the time to answer my questions (many of them) and I feel like they give me an honest suggestions/ opinions. Also gives me alternative options rather then spending money on prescriptions. The ladies at the front are very sweet and nice so it makes the vet visit less nerve wrecking for me and my dogs.
