Companion Animal Clinic Fairfax Station, Virginia

We boarded our dog here for Xmas vacation. Do not use them as our vet, but had heard good things about them and their hours were better than our vet for picking her up when we returned. The check in process went well enough and we didn't hear anything while we were gone, so we assumed no news was good news. At pick up, we didn't get any feedback how she did or ate or anything at all. Other places have given us a "report card" on her stay and that would've been nice. She is an old dog and we really would've liked it to know how her stay went. We will see if we will use them again in the future.

This is a great establishment. The doctors are very knowledgeable. The take extremely great care of your animal companions. We took our puppy and they were very attentive and communicative they all aspects of the process. This is our first dog and they provided all the necessary info to assist us. Thank you and we look forward to returning for any follow-up visits.

We have used Companion Animal Clinic as our primary veterinarians for 20 years, not just for health care but for training and boarding as well. Much of the staff has been there as long as we have, and are friendly, compassionate, and highly professional.

Our experience thus far has been incredible! We took our 1 year old frenchie here after terrible experience with previous vet - we were at complete loss with our pup and his allergies. We finally found Companion Animal Clinic, and they took the time to listen to my grievances and frustrations. They got our pup started on a great regimen and he is doing SO MUCH BETTER. They were so thoughtful and understanding. I received a follow-up call a few days later. I'm so impressed with this place and so grateful for their care. We live 40 mins from here, but I'd drive the distance any day.

i have been bringing my cats and dog to this vet clinic for about 2 years, they’ve always been super professional and kind. their prices are very reasonable and all the front desk staff i’ve interacted with are super kind! last september my cat passed away suddenly and they were super kind and gave us a room to grieve and when we were ready, talk about how i and my family would want to take care of him after his passing. they gave me resources to reach out to about how to deal with grief after the loss of a pet, i found it very useful. another aspect of companion animal clinic i appreciate is how organized they are with going in person to pick up medicine or drop off your pet for nail trimming or others (you call the number on the sign out front or website, explain what you’re there for, then they come out and give you the medicine, or whatever steps you’re there for!) i’m always pleased with this clinic, thank you for all you do !

We recently visited Companion for the first time since we moved to the area. Although we couldn't accompany our dog in (similar to most places), I felt that he was in good hands from when we arrived to when we left. The communication was fantastic, explanations were very thorough, the plan was clear, and they followed up to check on him a few days later. Prices were extremely reasonable. We had a fantastic experience, and we will be back.

I established my dog as a new patient since we just moved to the area. I was able to get an appointment easily and quickly. To my surprise, the initial consult was free! That was totally unexpected. Front desk staff was friendly. I stayed outside due to COVID protocols but the vet called and gave me a thorough post exam consultation over the phone. I'm very pleased so far.

Went here for their outstanding groomer. My 1-year-old pups were so hyper no one could groom them. I highly recommend their grooming services

We live in Alexandria and needed to find a new vet for our dog, Maxwell. Our old vet was not cutting it out for us—expensive, and unprofessional. Came across the rave reviews for Companion Animal Clinic. Appt set up was easy. When we arrived we called to let them know we were outside (still adhering to covid protocols, which is nice). After a short wait, the vet tech called us and we gave some details of pets background, and eventually they came out and took Maxwell in for his check up. We got a call from Dr Kimberly McGrath, who I must say is amazing! She was so polite, friendly, professional, courteous and respectful. She went over Maxwells check up for 20-25 min and highlighted a few important things we may want to follow up on (teeth cleaning, which is definitely needed). We didn’t feel rushed to get off or anything. We’ve been to many vets with many moved along the east coast and this place is one of the best. We were so happy with how Maxwell was treated and will be going back soon for his teeth cleaning. I HIGHLY recommend this spot to take your pet for any needed medical reasons. We are so grateful we found Dr. McGrath and Maxwell is thankful too!

Took our senior cat in for a lion cut shave down. His specialty is being very cranky with other humans. The team took great care of him and he came home looking like a million dollars. We even got a follow up call checking on him.

They were able to handle my needs on short notice. Great care, very professional and the treatment approach matched our needs perfectly.

Though Covid doesn't allow us to accompany our pets in for treatments, the staff is professional and kind while leading the pets indoors. One must appreciate all of the measures that Companion has in place for everyone's protection.

We receive the best care at Companion for both our senior dog and our puppy. The prompt, caring staff are the best! After years of mediocre care at another local vet, we are so happy to have made the switch.

They are thorough when diagnosing health issues and the staff is really caring. Our dog is partially blind, deaf, and has dementia. Thanks to Companion Animal Clinic, he is thriving and his tail wags every day. They are fantastic.

I've been using Companion Animal Clinic since 1979, when the practice was located in the original founding veterinarian's home. Over the years they have taken care of the health of four different dogs for our family. Recently I have seen (virtually) both Dr. Christopher and Dr. Murphy for our new puppy. I couldn't possibly be happier with the care my dogs received both recently and over the years, or say enough good things about this practice. Their entire staff from the people who answer the phones, to the vet techs and the doctors are very competent professionals and they're friendly and helpful too. We have used them for boarding (up to 10 days) and grooming as well. Our dogs seem to actually like going into their office which kind of says it all when it comes to how well taken care of I feel they were. I highly recommend this practice.

We recently changed from our first vet and we couldn’t be more pleased. The staff are very friendly and helpful. After our recent visit, they called a few days after to check up on her and gave us further instructions. Their prices are very reasonable and their COVID procedures are great. Our senior dog Chester is in good hands at Companion. I recently signed him up for their "Silver Whiskers" program geared for senior dogs and it's already paying off by detecting issues and heading them off with preventative medicine. And, strangely enough, Chester is happy to go to the vet, when has a dog ever liked going to the vet? Highest recommendation.

They were very nice and professional, but I had no idea how much I was going to spend until after the entire visit was over and I was on my way home (they email you the receipt). To say the least I was a bit sticker shocked.

COVID protocols in place, and managed beautifully. Our cat needed care on a Saturday morning and our regular vet was slammed, couldn’t get us in. We called CAC, they had us in within a couple hours, kitty got the meds he needed, and we spent only about 30 minutes in the lot, total, paperwork and all. Dr. Christopher was thorough in explaining everything and the receptionist wouldn’t let me off the phone until she was certain all my questions were answered. Cost was very reasonable. I’m grateful for this crew. Thanks! We’re keeping our original vet, as we’ve been there for years and all our records are maintained there, but it’s reassuring to know we have another great office on which to rely if we need them. Mainly a border for my cat when we travel. Excellent service from the front desk staff and they have taken great care of our aging cat during 4 or 5 stays.

I rate many locations as top notch because I no longer frequent those that are not. Companion is fantastic with our dog. Even with COVID restrictions, the staff has managed to maintain courteous, dedicated service to its clients. Very satisfied with the care our dog receives.

Our family has been coming here for years with all of our pets! Our two Golden’s love to visit. Staff and doctors are always friendly. At the holidays, they have fun Santa pics!

I brought in my newly adopted pup who came to me with a double ear infection, hookworm, and in need of a couple vaccines. They did a thorough check of him, followed up, gave me tips on caring for him at home, and helped me out over the phone when things weren't going so smooth. They're kind people, professionals in all they do, and I'm so glad I chose to take my pup to Companion.
