Been bringing my fur babies here for 20 years. Recently, I called to make an appt for nail cuts for 2 of my babies as I have done many many many times. I was told that one of them was due for the lepto vaccine this mth and I would need to take care of that in addition to a wellness exam or they could not do the nail trim. What? So my $20 visit turned into a $200 visit. I explained that wasnt in the budget at the moment and I only wanted a nail trim. I was then told I could go to petsmart for that because all they needed to see was proof of rabies vaccine. Really? Did they loose money during covid so now they have to force things on people?

Refused to groom my rescue dog because she is handicapped. Did not even offer to clean her ears or clip her nails. My baby cannot walk but has a sweet temperament. That didn't matter because the so-called groomer wouldn't even meet with us. I wish I could give her a "zero" rating. Whether she does a good job or not (I'll never know), do you really want your dog to be groomed by someone with no heart?

So far so good. Hands down one of the best vets I've been too. I was able to go on the care plan for my baby and now all his needs have been met. Dr. Drake was friendly and so good with my baby.

Multiple times reception had an attitude and was cold like we were bothering them. But what really angered us and made us take our animals elsewhere is when our 6 month old puppy who we have spent ALOT of money on there, Was turned away because We were 15 minutes late due the reason we were bringing him in. He is a puppy having severe diarrhea every hour on the hour for over a week. There is no compassion or understanding. I’m appalled I even brought my pets here in the first place.

I only trust my fur baby to go to VCA Animal care because they treat her like I do. They are very compassionate and always friendly. They take the time to answer my questions and address any concerns I may have. I have been going here for years and will continue to do so.

Very unhappy with this vet and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone worse ever dealt with in 59 yrs and several states. Refused to give me any medical records, including rabies vaccination certificate (Canine Rabies Vaccine 03/24/2018) for 4 yr old, female spayed, collie mix, back/brown, named Cali, I just adopted ($150) from Fairfax County Animal Shelter in Northern Virginia on Thursday, 08/13/2020. Dog has no rabies tag or proof of rabies vaccination which is required by law in Virginia. Unfair to dog & new owner to have to be given rabies vaccination again because veterinarian refuses to share dogs medical records. They don’t belong to owner who surrendered dog to Fairfax County Animal Shelter they belong to the dog I am trying to help. New veterinarian needs old veterinarian medical records for the dog to treat her and it doesn’t matter who previous owners were to any new vet. Told they need permission from owners who surrendered dog to share medical records of the dog and need to give them my name but can’t give me their names. Not trying to contact previous owners just trying to save the dog get it veterinarian care it needs. Deserve to have “rabies vaccination certificate” for dog “Cali” VCA Animal Care Associates gave the dog “Cali” rabies vaccine 03/24/2018. “it is against the law to divulge any information on a pet to its new owner without the consent of the previous owner.” If this is a law in Virginia then what’s the law? “§ 54.1-3812. Release of records A. A veterinarian licensed by the Board shall release or authorize the release of rabies immunization records and other relevant treatment data of an animal under his care to (i) a requesting physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner who is contemplating the administration of the rabies treatment protocol to any person under his care who has been the victim of a bite or other possible rabies exposure from such animal; (ii) a requesting animal control officer or law-enforcement officer who needs to identify the owner of such animal or verify the rabies vaccination history of such animal; or (iii) a requesting animal control officer or an official of the Department of Health who is investigating the incident. B. Any veterinarian licensed by the Board who in good faith releases or authorizes the release of an animal's rabies immunization records and other relevant data pursuant to this section shall not be liable for civil damages resulting from the release of such information.”

Care more about money than the animals. Wanted $500 to help an animal. Found out elsewhere recently it would only cost $100. Poor guy is now too far gone to receive any help at all. All because they overcharge and the family was trying to wait and save the money ***EDIT*** VCA left a response on my review telling me to email them. After three weeks I have not gotten a response.

We were running a little late due to traffic and called to let the receptionist know, and she told us that it was fine. Now that we have made it all the way here, we are told they can’t see us due to very sick dog they had. Mind you when we get there, we see other pets being taken in. They told us to reschedule but we explained that my moms a teacher and doesn’t have much free time on our hands. Our cat is older and really needs to stay up on her shots and they’re just playing with it. Really disappointed.

We have two special needs kitties who have had frequent visits to VCA ACA, and the vet here has been wonderful with continuation of their care after we moved here. Dr James always calls us back in a timely manner with tests, and staff has been very friendly and helpful with out of office referrals for specialty care. We have not met anyone in person due to Covid, yet we still feel that our kitties are getting awesome care. The groomer has been great too! Both our babies come out soft and fluffy after each appointment.

These guys are my second favorite vet due to dr. Karen white I think her name is? The office staff are a bit snippy and judgmental but the vet was not and spent over an hour with us going over each and every concern thoroughly even though it was a free first visit exam.
