Our furbaby was in distress and hubby rushed her to the closest facility... Colonial Heights Vetinary Hospital. They were quick to respond, professional and very compassionate. Because of the extra time and attention provided to our furbaby she is recovering well!

My family has been using CH Vet Hospital for more than 20 years and have never had any problems. I literally just had to put my 12 year old cat down recently there and couldn’t speak highly enough. HOWEVER, I had an appointment scheduled for 11:45 today that I scheduled 2 weeks ago. I get there before my scheduled appointment and check in. By 12:10 I still haven’t been called back so I walk up to ask how much longer and the woman who I spoke with was EXTREMELY RUDE, threw her hands up and said I don’t know…you have one more person in front of you so I can’t tell you. Mind you since I had an appointment time scheduled TWO WEEKS AGO I scheduled my work day around this appointment. I ask her since they were running late and couldn’t meet the appointment time and didn’t let anyone know they were running behind to plan accordingly that I am requesting and appointment this afternoon. I was told that was not an option and they could see my pet next week. I was ask what time and I said it depends on the day - I work- and I was told well I need to know what time…I had to call my husband since he is the only other option and they acted like I was taking up too much of their time and I was ask “so do you want it or not”. I love the vets SO much here but the staff is less than pleasant and professional. We already have an appointment scheduled at 10 at another local vet and will be switching all 7 of our animals over. Do better.

Best office staff, vet techs and veternarians. They care about the humans as much as the pets. We switched vet offices several years ago. Best decision ever!

We were able to wait outside safely in our car and they came out and took our cat in for his shot and brought him back out to us. Very clean inside but the curbside service was much appreciated.

Would rather you come in 3 times for X-rays instead of suggesting to go get an ultra sound. Common sense says if you don’t have the equipment to do the job then don’t do the job at all. Place is totally incompetent and would rather let your dog suffer for a couple months then do the right thing and refer you to someone else with the right equipment. Note this business would rather spend their money on postal stamps to let you know they don’t want to provide you service for pointing that out.

Excellent customer service as well as excellent Animal service! They really care, & won't charge a fortune! If your pet doesn't need something they will tell u! A vet told me I needed all these tests & X-ray's over $800 & went here & they said no it's not that serious! Charged me for office visit, & heartworm test I came in for & answered all my questions & concerns. I got all that with 3 different prescriptions for under $200! Will never use another Vet!

What a joke. After being with them for over 40 years they decided they can't fill rx for my cat that is dying with cancer. It's only cat food with extra nourishment written by a mobile vet. Told me to come in and they would fill it. Get there and no since they haven't seen the cat and they can't see him for 3 weeks. I have spent thousands with them over the years. No problem, Pet Smart in Colonial Heights filled it with no hassle since I had the ex. I will not spend my money with CH veterinarian ever again.

Our 11 year old lab was having issues with vomiting. She would vomit multiple times a day and we ended up taking her to Colonial Heights veterinary clinic. They did some blood work and did some X-rays and sent her home with some pain medication and an anti nausea medicine. Over the weekend a few days after her visit she threw up so much that we ended up taking her to an emergency veterinary clinic where they said the medication she was given can cause stomach issues and this was probably why she was throwing up so much. We took Her back to Colonial Heights. They gave her an appetite stimulant and some antibiotics. They X-rayed her and did blood work and found nothing. They suggested we put her on Prilosec. The vomiting continued. My son took her back and more X-rays… more blood work. More useless medication. Over 4th of July she got much worse. She was weak, her gums white, vomiting over and over. We ended up taking her to another vet and in five minutes they found a huge tumor in her stomach with an ultrasound machine. She was bleeding out. They recommend putting her down. Due to her condition they felt she would not survive removing the large tumor. The vet said she doesn’t know how it was missed. My dog suffered for two months and $$$ spent at the vet who kept x-rating, testing blood, medications to back up the fake diagnosis. I understand medicine is not an exact science and some trial and error is involved but how incompetent that such a place could continue to same line of tests and failed to do a simple ultrasound…. My dog may not have been able to be saved months ago when we started to take her there but perhaps she could have been put down sooner so she didn’t have to suffer like this. For this I recommend no one take their pet here. Today when I called to speak to the vet and explained what happened and ask if there was something I could have said differently to get them to diagnose her better and the person taking the call didn’t even say “I am sorry for your loss”. They were negligent. No way will I ever take my pets here
