My dog is a problem, and this vet has been wonderful. My dog has a chronic health condition that they were able to successfully diagnose, treat, and monitor over the course of several months. This involved a lot of visits and blood work, and the Old Dominion vets were always good at explaining the lab results and next treatment steps to me. If I had follow up questions or a new concern, I always got a prompt call back from a vet. My dog has also been to Old Dominion for his annual visits and for a couple other health concerns, and the staff and vets have always been knowledgeable and professional. Like I said, my dog is a problem, so he has been seen by several different vets at this practice, and all have been very good. Dr. Garrett is his primary vet, and I would especially recommend him.

I called the vet bright and early. I told them I was pretty sure my dog was dying and they had me come in before the Dr was even there. They paged her to come in early. She was extremely nice. They were wonderful when I had to make the decision to put my dog down after 15 years. I was out of state but anyone traveling in the Charlottesville VA area and need a vet right away like I did, I definitely recommend them. They were all wonderful to me and my dog..They kept her there until I was headed home and made me a paw print ornament of her paw, letter & a nice box for her which I found extremely sweet of them. RIP Mercedes.

I love this veterinarian. They are always so pleasant. My pet loves them. We had a different veterinarian and my pet did not like them. My pet will now climb in her carrier when I tell her "we're going to see your friend!" I know for her to be so willing to go they treat her amazing.

Best vet we've been to in the US. We have been at Old Dominion for a few years now. We ended up at Old Dominion after our dog was misdiagnosed repeatedly at another practice. This misdiagnosis led to him needing major surgery. When he went to Old Dominion they identified what was going on right away and sent him to a specialist. We've stuck with them since then and our dogs have been well taken care of. Thank you Old Dominion. Couldn't ask for better.

Old Dominion Animal Hospital was the vet clinic we chose when we moved to Charlottesville. Their treatment of our cats was just fine, however, their communication with myself and my partner left much to be desired. Since we couldn't be with our pets during the appointment because of COVID, I felt like it would be extra important to communicate with us about our pets' health. This did not seem to be their priority, and I would have to inquire about everything myself. I feel really let down by this vet clinic.

Their care for our pet was above and beyond. Our cat was very sick and they did EVERYTHING to help her and help us as well. I highly recommend Old Dominion Animal Hospital

Took a friend there for his cat. It was just a normal checkup but they found a heart murmur. The doctor is working with him to eliminate easily treatable possibilities first instead of jumping straight to expensive treatments, which is good. The parking lot is really hard to navigate, though.

Always there to help at anytime for even the smallest things/questions. Would recommend to all animal lovers. My 18 year old doggie is well taken care of through their love and knowledge of animals and their families. Thank you to all the vets and workers at this animal clinic.

My dog had an eye infection and I called 6 vets who couldn't take her for a week. Old Dominion saw her the very next day and they were so great!! They have COVID precautions in place and everyone was friendly and helpful. We have a clinic we see for well visits but just needed someplace to take our dogs when they have problems and this will definitely be it.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff and vets here. They take good care of my cats and the price is fair for the treatment. Parking is available and they are easy to find.

Hate to change my review...but - I still love Dr. Kramer and Dr. Garrett is great - their staff unfortunately (mainly front desk) are not - you are declined meds yet billed for them- you get to your appointment that you specifically made for the afternoon you have off and are told you're a day early and will have to wait (I reiterated I did not make a mistake and show up early as I was working the next day and the person on the phone confirmed the date twice - but still since YOU are early we're working you in - mind you I drove 40 minutes to get there with a stressed out cat to sit in the car for an hour). My cat had an ear infection and got flea meds total - over $700. Did it fix the problem- no it did not - I switched her food as I suspected an allergy to chicken (previous cat had an allergy) and now she's fine. At last, final straw - called to renew insulin for a different cat. Let me just say I have never refused to bring this cat in for follow ups but by voicemail my insulin request was denied because he hasn't been in in a year. That's fine make an appt to check his glucose, but to deny his insulin - which he will DIE without to force me to miss work instead of bringing him in on a scheduled date is ridiculous and shows how much money means over the welfare of the patient. Highly disappointed and disappointed I can't give zero stars.

I took my 2 cats here instead of our regular vet since it was closer to our house -- I am so glad that I did! We worked with Dr. Denise Chow (over the phone since COVID), who was super responsive, friendly, realistic, caring, and honest. It was like talking to a friend. She even saved one of our cats from surgery. HIGHLY recommend!

Old Dominion Animal Hospital struggled to treat my dog’s ear infection. Long story short, we’ve struggled with a chronic ear infection in my terrier for the last 1.5+ years. We’ve tried many treatments for his ears during this time. Most recently, ODAH prescribed combined antibiotic/anti-fungal treatment (without actually testing for bacteria or fungi). We just moved to a new city and got a new veterinarian who tested his ear, diagnosed a fungal infection and put him on the appropriate treatment, recommend flushing and directed us to not pluck hair from ears. We are finally seeing improvement in his ears after so much frustration. I am grateful we finally found someone who can help. I wish I had sought a second opinion much sooner.

I've been bringing my pets here since 2014 and every experience has been an excellent one. I strongly recommend ODAH for your family vet in C'Ville.
