Thank you very much, really thank you for the attention to my little Nina. after waiting 2h in Manassas in Medvet without them doing anything, you guys were amazing giving my dog pain medicine immediately and such a clean and perfect surgery at half the price of Medvet. I will be grateful all my life with you. thank you for taking care of my non-human daughter. because she like my daughters is my family

I just called them because a skunk got caught in a trap that I had set up and I didn't know how to release it without hurting it or getting sprayed. Cause you know not trying to hurt wildlife. Lady first off when she answered just said hello and didn't even say if it was the vets office When I asked she said yes. I started explaining what was going on and she just hung up and said nothing. If you couldn't help then just say so. Guess ill try to let it out myself without hurting it. Rude receptionist

We had a kitten that had an accident. Greenbrier emergency was the only place around us that responded quickly that night and got us in. (Even with curbside, things were not delayed). They told us the charges up front, gave us all of our options on the phone before we arrived, and didn’t have any surprise fees. We had to put our sweet girl down, but the whole staff was so kind and professional. The vet was amazing and I could tell she loves animals so much. They handled the whole situation well and helped us make the right decision and promptly relieve our kitten. They gave us a free clay pawprint and one vet assistant made us a lovely ink print of her paw on cardstock. Their kindness was honestly the only thing keeping me from absolutely losing it that night. About a week later, we got a very sweet, handwritten condolence card. Thank you to this emergency vet office for getting us through one of the hardest nights of our lives.

Our beloved family pet Drum had passed away in the car before we could have him seen. The staff their were caring and kind. I thank them for their service. Our family had nowhere to turn for his care because of it being after hours and the weekend. We so thankful they were there.

Thank you for making my dog comfortable and taking the time to discuss all options in a super stressful time. I don’t think my dog would be alive if it hadn’t been for your overnight staff, vet techs and doctors. She was in so much pain when arriving but the morning staff and staff at the transferring location said she was comfortable and quiet. I can’t say how much relief I felt to know that.

Thank you so much to the team who took the time to help and care for my girl Lilly who was really sick and also explaining to me the options. Thank you for being so kind when I just wanted the best for my Lilly who we will miss dearly! Thank you for being there for her to put her at ease. ❤️????

My Spanish rescue dog has a complicated history of persistent tick borne disease, leishmaniasis, and lymphoma, and is prone to aspiration pneumonia as a result. So when I was visiting my sister in the area from out of town and she developed symptoms in the middle of the night, I was so grateful to have them see my dog and be completely open to which tests and diagnostics I was willing to perform (I only wanted a chest x-ray as complete blood work had been done at my regular vet the previous month). The vet on staff did not push me to perform unnecessary tests despite seeing her acute status when she entered the clinic, and trusted my account of her past history and the chronicity of her condition. After a quick discussion about past treatments for the same condition, she was given fluids and prescribed the appropriate antibiotics and has since made a full recovery from the pneumonia for the time being. The cost for treatment seemed very consistent with any emergency vet I have visited between the Columbus to Pittsburgh area back home. I was very grateful to find such a great team of people on such short notice- it really helped to alleviate the stress of the situation of experiencing an emergency in the middle of the night while out of town. Everyone I encountered at this visit was very professional and kind- they even followed up with an email a couple weeks later asking how she was doing.

I paid $1,300 for them to tell me my cat needed to rest for a week. They did give her some pain medicine but when I called back later to ask about upping the dose when she was in pain again they wouldn't tell me anything unless I came in again. I don't care what their protocol is. You should be able to talk to someone particula rly if the prescription you got is from them. There is no vet that would see a patient and not let you talk to them again over the phone. It's not a secret. I can find answer online but I really wanted to talk t someone. It's very scary when your cat is in pain but Not everyone has access to get there and not everyone can afford that kind of bill again.

We had a very sick puppy who had been seen 2 days before by our vet. His condition was deteriorating. Our dog was seen on an extremely busy holiday weekend. The staff showed care and concern about our dog’s health and our wait time. We were communicated with hourly about what was happening. I was beside myself with worry, and the staff along with Dr. Johnson alleviated my fears. Our puppy made a recovery finally. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Hands down the best ER vet I have been to!! They were VERY quick to welcome, diagnose, and treat my dog. The vet herself was so professional and friendly; she took the time to answer all of my questions. The receptionist was very friendly and efficient with the aftercare instructions. It’s an hour long drive but I wouldn't want to take my dog anywhere else! Can’t recommend them enough!

Greenbrier Emergency Vet recently provided my kitty with the best care! She was seen quickly, and I was constantly keep up to date on her condition during her weekend stay - twice daily calls from the vet and the ability to call to check in whenever I wanted definitely made a nerve-racking situation so much easier to deal with. The staff seemed to truly care about my kitty, and she was returned to me in such high spirits. The vets helped me to make informed decisions about her care without ever pushing for specific procedures, and I was provided with detailed instructions to continue my cat's care at home upon discharge. I was even able to call with questions days later without being made to feel like a nuisance. If you find your pet in need of emergency care, I cannon recommend Greenbrier highly enough!

I had many visits here over many years of pet ownership. Last night my son had a terrible experience in another city with an emergency vet (waited 4 hours and cat was never seen). Charlottesville is lucky to have such a facility.

Our beloved dog Callie had to be euthanized today. We could not wait for her regular vet to be open in 2 days. The staff at Greenbrier, the vet Dr. Ware, and the owner Tripp Stewart provided such compassionate care. They were kind and patient and so gentle to our sweet girl. We felt so well-cared for during a very difficult time. If you find yourself in an emergency with your pet, this is an excellent practice to turn to for help.

They were willing to see us though every vet I had called (15) were too busy. When I called the Verona emergency vet to discuss my pup and questioned prices I was snottily told “well since money is an issue we could just treat symptoms and not try to diagnose” I can’t imagine what person doesn’t have some restrictions on cost. They were clear and discussed the prices, options, and plans here. I’m very frustrated because the prices are way more than I expected (this could be due to it being Charlottesville, I’m from Lynchburg originally and our emergency bills were much lower, and our normal vet in Waynesboro is as well), and I don’t have any concrete answers. I’m aware I’m emotionally raw and this is by no fault of their making, they did try. However if you don’t look at cost, I can’t say enough about their kindness, patience, professionalism, and dedication. They allowed me to call and check on her through the night and never sounded irritated. There was never a surprise except a fever that wasn’t reported till the next morning. That’s important, to feel you understand what’s happening.

I brought my dog their in sheer panic after she'd but vitteby by a copperhead. They were positive, communicative and kind. I only drop them a star because after services because l left I was presented with a $690 bill to pay right then. Fortunately I could swing it but hearing, "we will take your card now" was startling when I wasn't warned and assumed I'd be billed. Worth it though to have my dog healthy and a good clinic hell her.

I called while having a crying/panic attack about my cat and the person who answered and helped me was an absolute angel. It’s hard to find kindness and light during these times but and she was both. Thank you so much.

Greenbrier was incredible from the beginning to the end of our time there. When we made the appointment they were so polite and informative when we brought our puppy in because she had head trauma. They made us feel so comfortable (letting us call all throughout the night and even calling us with updates). So happy you guys took care of our baby in such a scary time. Thank you guys so much.

We are on our way home at almost 2 am, after having our sweet Birdie euthanized. We arrived home a few hours ago, to find her in bad shape. We wrapped her in a towel and drove to Greenbrier. They answered our call promptly and came out right away to assist. Every person we spoke with was kind, caring and supportive. I was afraid we would not be able to be with Birdie during her final moments, but after a Covid questionnaire (completely understandable), we were allowed inside to be with our cat when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The care and compassion was on point and the cost was reasonable too. Thank you all for being there for us tonight.

I took my dog to Greenbrier, they were kind and caring. They kept me updated on my dog. They did not recommend a lot of unnecessary tests and the bill was less than I expected.
