I woke up at 4am to the shaking of my bed caused by intense tremors from my dog. He began vomiting and shaking uncontrollably. I have seen my dog sick before, however, never like this. After many phone calls to multiple vets in the area, I was able to take him to the Autumn Trails - They were kind, quick, professional, and reassuring. After a series of blood tests and a round of x-rays they found that his intestines had a blockage caused by a big rib bone he had swallowed. They recommended an emergency surgery. They explained everything to me with detail, calmly, and with a lot of patience. They also made sure that I knew and understood well all of my options. Hours later, I received a call from them - They had put Rambo on an IV with medications and fluids and right before the surgery they did another round of x-rays and found that Rambo’s body was pushing out the bone, and that his body was healing very fast. He wouldn’t need the surgery after all! They were so professional, kind, empathetic, generous, and went above and beyond to make sure that not only my dog was OK, but they also took care of me and my concerns. Our pets are our family and that they take that to heart. Highly recommend it. Thank you! P.S - my dog is doing so much better btw!

Autumn Trials provided wonderful emergency care to our visiting "granddog" during the Christmas holidays. From the front desk staff who came out and spent a few minutes petting him and sharing stories of her own dogs, to the gentle vet tech who praised him while checking his vital signs, to Dr. Cordoza, who took time from several other emergencies to ask about symptoms and offer a clear diagnosis and plan of action and reassurance of follow-up if needed, our old guy was in great hands. Our son was relieved to hear how quickly things improved, and we now have people we know will take care of our visiting canine family with love and expertise. It was one of our best gifts this year!

The BEST Veterinarian services out of the many places we’ve lived across the country. So thankful for them and how much they have cared for our pup over the last year and a half.

I called them on a Sunday because my dog was acting very painful. They were able to see her the same afternoon. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The vet didn't run a bunch of expensive tests, which I truly appreciated. Her diagnosis was correct and her conservative treatment worked and Mocha was much better the next day!

So thankful that Dr Sullivan was able to see our sick cat on such short notice! Our poor cat was in a lot of pain for no apparent reason, but Dr Sullivan and her team were able to track down the infection and made sure our cat was kept calm, comfortable, and pain free. Would absolutely return!

This clinic was able to fit our dog in for an emergency visit on a Saturday night, and i’ll never forget it. Thank you all so much!!!

I played phone tag with this clinic over the course of a couple weeks. Some of my calls went unanswered when trying to set up care for my 2 pets.

Autumn Trails is a great place for my pups. I've boarded and have transferred their vet care to Dr Cordoza there. I'm impressed with the friendliness and competence of staff , office and medical. The facility is clean as a pin, well maintained and very pup friendly. Their online Rx service is saving a great deal on heartworm and flea/tick products. Their hours of operation are every convenient. I highly recommend them for any of your pet needs.

Extremely friendly and very upfront staff. They were very accommodating and they have a great system as an urgent care place so you don't have to pay emergency fees.

Wow is all I can say. We had a very sick dog. They worked us in and stayed late to help. Without you we aren't sure if our baby would have made it. Thank you is just not adequate.

I’m new in town and my best friend hurt his paw. Without missing a beat, they gave us an appointment. When I checked in, greeted with kindness and understanding with my dog-reactive dog. More goodness in the exam room- patience and compassion from Dr and tech (or vet asst) they took quick care of his paw and explained best course of action for healing. This was the first, genuinely positive vet experience I’ve had in years and if I stay in the area long term, I’m grateful to know this place is here to look out for my loved ones. Our cats are notorious for being perfectly healthy right up to 5pm on Friday...at which point everything seems to go off the rails! We have actually made both our cats patients at Autumn Trails, in addition to their regular vet, and we call them our "Weekend Docs" :) They have always taken great care of our cats - responding as quickly as they can (even with Covid precautions in place). We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for regular or emergency care.

I had to bring my epileptic dog to Autumn Trails as an emergency patient after several back to back seizures - we had recently moved to central Virginia, and my regular vet and neurologist are in northern Virginia. Autumn Trails had me bring her in (had never seen her before), checked her over, calmed me down, and sent us home with a plan in place. I am so appreciative of the wonderful care each and every person there showed to us. I was quite stressed and upset when the other ER vets nearby weren't available, and was so relieved to have found them. They were there for us when we really needed them.

Autumn Trails Vet Center took magnificent care of us! Dr. Young answered all of our questions, Jonathan (the vet tech) handled her with kit gloves. They were utterly professional and sprinkled their conversation with a bit of humor, relieving some of my stress over our sick dog. Their fees were very reasonable and they explained what each step of her diagnosis would cost. In less than a day, our sweet pup had the use of her paw again!

It was great. Everyone is so friendly. The doctors really listen to my Gizmo's problems and does everything to help him. Gives meds to fix his problems. He has bad allergies and they care and make him live a happier life.

From the time the receptionist answered the phone from the moment we picked our boy up after surgery; this place was nothing but responsive, courteous, professional and caring. Their customer service is amazing and their prompt attention was greatly appreciated. I am a licensed veterinary technician of 30 years and I have very high standards when it comes to care for my dogs. I was very impressed with this hospital. I called at 7:45am and a friendly voice greeted me. I explained my situation and she said to come right away. My husband was already driving to Charlottesville since we are an hour away so he arrived by 8:05am. He was taken in and our dog was evaluated. He was diagnosed with an intestinal foreign body and was admitted to the hospital. He was scheduled for surgery at noon. By 3pm I was receiving a call from the surgeon letting me know surgery went well and my dog was recovering. I highly recommend this hospital for all of your pets' needs. We will definitely be using them in the future!!

I just moved to Charlottesville and tried a number of different clinics but none could see my dog in time. He was suffering my major hotspot problems. I was referred to Autumn Trails. I was super pleased with the staff and Dr. Sullivan in particular. She went out of her way to understand the problem and recommend potential courses of action I could take long term. I'm very pleased with their service and prices.

I have used Autumn Trails a few times for urgent care needs for my Boston Terrier. They are so helpful, professional and caring. Even though it’s a two hour drive for me, I much prefer ATVC to using an emergency vet if I can as my regular vet does not provide after hours service. I recently lost my baby and they were kind enough to send a card even though we were not regular clients. Amazing group here. ❤️

I have been taking my dog Teddy here for a year now and I have got to say this is the best veterinary practice I have ever used! I am not exaggerating when I say the dedicated staff saved my dog’s life when he had pancreatitis over a year ago. Now, we use them as Teddy’s primary and he has never been happier or healthier. Unfortunately, I had to move from the local area for work but I love this veterinary practice so much that I drive from Richmond to Charlottesville for Teddy’s appointments! In addition, pricing is reasonable and the clerical staff does a great job of organizing paperwork for pet insurance claims and responding to document requests almost immediately.

Autumn Trails Veterinary Center takes care of your pet as their own. The hours of operation are flexible for most any pet parent. Doctors and support staff are very knowledgeable and respectful. I personally recommend this clinic for all services including: wellness, urgent care, dentals, elective and non-elective procedures. They also offer boarding services and cold laser for our arthritic or injured furry friends. Check ATVC the next time you are in need for pet services.
