Each vet and staff person have been caring of my sweet girl and willing to listen to a pet mom who is both over cautious and fearful of losing her beloved 12 year old pet child. What they have offered Rosie and me has meant so very much at a time when my girl has so many issues going on in her physical life.

We have had our part Chow/part Soft-Coated-Wheaton-Terrier for nine years. Maggie is a rescue dog and a beloved part of our family and we care deeply about her; that is why we turned to Deepwood when we noticed a lump on her foot that we feared could be cancer. We had gone to Deepwood eleven years ago when our previous dog, Sugar, was dealing with cancer. We found them to be kind, compassionate, caring, completely professional and exceptionally responsive with Sugar and they have demonstrated those same qualities in our recent experience with them. They guided us through the process of addressing Maggie’s cancerous tumor which was embedded in her left rear paw ---- an extremely difficult area in which to perform a tumor removal. While they said they could perform the procedure, they were open and honest enough with us to state that a specialist could likely do a better job in the removal procedure and they facilitated the entire procedure at their facility with a specialist from Lazar. Following the surgery, Deepwood performed all the post-op testing, prescription of medicine, bandage changes, suture removal, etc that was required. They were totally responsive to all our concerns and questions giving us as much of their time as we could want. We dealt with three of the doctors at Deepwood and multiple techs and staffers and they were, without exception, compassionate and helpful in every respect. Maggie is doing well and is recuperating from her surgery. We were fortunate to hear from Dr. Pool at Deepwood over the weekend that the biopsy results indicate that the tumor seems to be less likely to metastasize than we had feared. As we chatted, it was interesting to hear from her how difficult it has been during the pandemic to maintain the desired staffing level --- clearly this has been an enormous challenge for them. I’m impressed that they have maintained such a level of professionalism under such arduous circumstances. I trust them to care for Maggie. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I love the care and service Deepwood provides to my pets. The staff is the best ever, so friendly and kind.

A walk-saver. My 9 month old puppy, Cosmo, got LOTS bigger than the breeder thought he would. He was supposed to max out around 67. Not bad for a lab. At 9 months, he's 99 lb and leggy, twisty torso. Believe me that when he gets excited on the walk, he can exert some serious pull. Our walks had become a nightly battle for me trying to hang on and stay on some kind of forward progress. I needed help badly when I found the one hour Loose leash training course by Deepwood. What a change from only an hour! Chelsea literally saved my relationship with Cosmo. Our walk that night after the class was the first enjoyable walk for me in 6 months. Cosmo now sits and waits before going out the door. He sits when we stop walking. I am now optimistic about the potential for Cosmo that my wife and I will be signing up for the Basic Manners course.

Great clinic to bring your small animals! Beautiful facility, and great vets. I bring my three rabbits here, and it is great to know I have a vet to bring them to (since most vets seem to only see dogs or cats). Dr. Riley is friendly and knowledgeable about the health and care for my rabbits. :)

I was impressed with their detail report of my dog’s examination and the clarity when explaining each step of their findings. Dr. Pool makes the visit personable by coming out, explaining her visit process and medication recommended. I was impressed and felt knowing my dog received top medical service..

I was really happy that I was able to get an appointment with the vet. The only downside was I could not go in with my animal. Blame covid. I did like the professionalism that Dr Poole had and especially when she answered all my questions. All in all a very good experience

Love this clinic! The Vets and staff are very professional and knowledgeable. We have been using Deepwood since 2005. Just recently we had them treat our little Lucy who was diagnosed with spleen cancer 3 years ago and she just passed in January 2021. They had us work with a professional dealing with Chinese herbs and I think without these herbs Lucy would have been gone some time ago. I researched this type of cancer in dogs and found out that they do not live long with this cancer. Deepwood allowed us to keep her with us for a few more years. Thank you, Dr. Pool, Dr. Rexo and staff.

They are so kind and patient with my dog, even when the dog needs shots, which he does not like. They also keep one posted on future treatments, so nothing is missed.

We had them come to our house and care for our baby goat. Unfortunately Roster had a serious internal issue that was inoperable. Everyone there was very kind and the doctor gave us the time needed to say goodbye. Very sad day but they tried to help make it a little easier.

One of very few clinics in NoVa that treats exotic, small & large animals! Occasionally wait might be long, but you know you'll spend a quality time with a doctor for your appointment as well.

Dr. Pool and her staff are stellar. Our family has been bringing our pets to Dr. Pool for over 20 years. We have never hesitated to contact them if we have any concerns. Everyone at DEEPWOOD is professional, responsive and caring. We would highly recommend them to anyone seeking care for their furry family members.

Long term client. Although expensive, I take my valued pets there to try to give them the best care. My disappointment is that I must leave my cats at the door and I can't be there during the exam. I tried to prepare questions but forgot things that I would have recalled in a face-to-face encounter. I think it is time to get back to having masked clients come in with their pets.

Always used Deepwood since it was in it's previous location. They gave me all the info I needed finding an emergency hospital for my doggy too when she was badly ill.

I’m really grateful for Deepwood clinic, Dr Poole, the other doctors and staff; they should all be commended for their consistent dedication in caring for our loved ones. We depend on them - in emergencies and routine care too, and I’m very grateful to have the privilege of building relationships with Dr Poole and everyone who works with her. I trust their care, their referrals and their recommendations. They remain a great resource and I trust the healthcare of my pets to them. They’re the whole package - great vet care, natural alternatives, great relationships with area specialists and emergency vets, they have an online store for meds and prescription food, offer training classes, boarding, grooming and even run their own charity saving homeless animals. I’ve been with them for decades and am so glad they’ll be there for my future needs too. Thanks Dr Poole for all your help over the years.

We have always had superb care with our dogs at Deepwood Vet Clinic. We have also boarded our dogs at Deepwood and that has also gone very well. I very much appreciate that a vet is available should a boarded dog have any issues. Recently our new adopted dog, Harper, was diagnosed with skin allergies. Dr. Poole and Dr Rexo have helped us with treatment and a plan to keep her healthy. I highly recommend Deepwood Vet Service.

All the staff are very animal-friendly, from the receptionists to the veterinary assistants to each of the veterinarians I have had the pleasure to meet. They love the animals they treat, and are patient and caring. I recommend them to anyone in the area.

The best things are the array of services offered. More expensive than others but great for a one stop shop situation and 24 hour staff supervision while kenneling. Downside is they charge you for everything possible. We were charged over $20 to simply give one of our rescues his daily thyroid pill where they simply mixed it in with his food. $10 for b.m. disposal. Sad.

Dr Poole was so kind and loving to my old Zoey (17 1/2) she helped me work through different medication options to help her be more comfortable, she did not rush us and cared for Zoey like she was her own dog. 5 stars highly recommended
