Dr. Boyd is one of the best veterinarians I have ever met. She is empathetic, knowledgeable, caring and my male kitty Milou who is very skittish took to her immediately.

They are some excellent veterinarians who are up to speed with the latest research and technology.

Always a pleasure taking my dog, Charlie, to Suburban.

Dr. Halbert was very thorough in physical examination as well as communicating with me on what should be done & what to expect as my furry baby is reaching over 11 years old. She was also very informative on providing alternative sources for nutrition and medicine. Thank you Dr. Halbert :-)

Good, but needs improvement. Very very eager to recommend expensive test and procedures "to be on the safe side." But most likely not needed. Plus there is no follow up for treatment to your pet. For example, they performed ear procedure on my dog. Great, but how do I know that my dog no longer has that ear problem. There needs to be a follow on quick exam at no cost to insure what they did worked. What's up with that? Customers need a better system period!

Good vets, expensive but so are all vets

On my last visit, I did not have an appointment but was able to drop off my cat as an emergency. I was worried about this because he had been ill for over a day. But the vet called me in a couple hours after having done a very thorough exam and review of his history. She spent a fair amount of time on the phone with me, making her late for her next appointment. I appreciated that and I hope that her client was understanding. The vet and I came up with a preliminary treatment plan, agreeing that she would call me back later in the day to discuss additional options. She did that and we finalized the treatment my cat would receive before I picked him up later that day. We have plans to touch base in a couple days to see how he is doing and to also come in for a recheck . With all of the staffing issues due to COVID, getting emergency treatment for pets has been very difficult with people being turned away from emergency clinics. I am so grateful that Suburban was able to fit me in when they did.

They're consistently behind schedule. With curbside I have consistently arrived at least 5 minutes early sometimes 10 and without fail I'm put on hold for 5 to 10 minutes (but dont try calling before you park because that's not allowed). Then once they've confirmed the pickup it takes them another 5 minutes to send out a tech. While I understand the pandemic and staffing shortages and increase in dogs are to blame, after a year you would think they'd be able to work out the kinks so they were likely to be consistently on schedule than not. If they were a budget hospital I also would understand but they charge an exorbitant amount for routine vaccines and other care (dental cleaning came to 785 with sealant and 145 for the required bloodwork, that's nearly 1k). They feature an online scheduling system but what is the use if they end up calling you reschedule because it should be a vet tech appointment for vaccinations? You cant select a vet tech option online. So the online scheduling isn't all that convenient anyway. The doctors and staff are competent but they cant run the place properly even while charging customers top price.

My lab went n for a pre op appt and a friendly assistant came out to retrieve my dog and bring her back while I waited for about 10 min. Good experience although I was annoyed to still have to wear a mask .

Excellent care for our pets. Highly recomended.

Best spot in northern Virginia to take your pets for veterinary care. Not the cheapest. But when it comes to your furry family it's worth it!

Took great care of our rescued kitten

I have been a loyal Suburban Animal Hospital patron over well over 10 years. Three dogs and five cats have benefitted from the warmth and expertise of this group. I appreciate that as care recommendations are made, options are provided based on animal age, budget, and likelihood of value.

Dr. Boyd is the BEST! Our dog unfortunately hates the vet and Dr. Boyd is so understanding and takes the time to really help make sure the appointment goes as smoothly as possible :) My family has been taking our pets to Suburban for 20+ years and have had great experiences. I trust taking our dog to them.

Love taking my pup to Suburban Animal Hospital, they treat him so well and I know they have his best interests at heart.

Our 15-year-old kitty had a terrible digestive upset issue and I really needed to get him some medical help on a Saturday afternoon. I called Suburban and they explained there would be an emergency fee, but that someone would see him, even though they were fully booked. Within minutes, they took us to an exam room and Dr. Boyd was there less than a minute later. The docs and technicians were able to help him right away and suggested I leave him there a few hours to make sure everything was okay. The extreme kindness and immediate response was so comforting to me and to our kitty. Dr. Boyd is following up to make sure the treatment prescribed is working. I can't thank the folks at Suburban enough.

We had a scare with one of our pets which had me fearing the worst. I knew from reception that Dr Casper was the only one on staff that day, but you could not tell from the way she handled every one of my incessant questions with grace and calmness. This is why we come here. Thank you all.

My dog got hit by a car yesterday and we took her into Suburban in an emergency. They are not even our regular vet and they took her in and treated her injuries in a professional, yet kind and compassionate manner. We felt so fortunate for Dr. Boyd and her staff.

This is an amazing facility. They are considerate, timely and they don't overbook the office. Overall great service and the vets are the best I've seen.

My 4-year-old cat had urine the color of port wine! I found this by cleaning the pad in her litter box. Called Suburban immediately, about an hour before they closed. They had a cancellation and took her right away. (Fortunately no cops caught me exceeding the speed limit to reach them on time. Can you imagine? “I know I was going fast, Officer, but my cat has brown pee.”) Dr. Hood asked comprehensive questions about why I had to bring her in. She checked her bladder, urine, and innards, assuring me she found everything clear—no blood or impurities. Gave her medicine to address the symptoms and said to get back if things didn’t clear up. She was caring and understanding. I may have to take the little girl back but at least I know she doesn’t have an infection. Thank you, Dr. Hood and Suburban. Your 38 years of care for my pets excelled once again.

We have a wily hound who gets into everything! Dr Casper is our go-to vet every time. Knowledgeable, detailed, friendly, and great with both immediate and long-term health advice for our pup. Can’t recommend highly enough!
