Nova Cat Clinic Arlington, Virginia

Been coming here for 10 years now to keep consistent care for our cats but we are done. Can't get emails or calls returned without multiple attempts. Prices are super high. Tests are pushed without explanation. Just waited for an hour and a half in the parking lot with a very unhappy cat for an appointment. That's not how appointments work. I have no idea why they would run things this way on purpose, which they confirmed is standard.

If I rated NOVA on care of felines, it would get 5 stars. Not only does NOVA provide excellent veterinary cat care, but the vets go way beyond normal communication with clients. NOVA's only shortcoming is scheduling appointments and providing them with forms required prior to an appointment. NOVA has improved greatly in this area since the start of 2021, but making an appointment is still not smooth. I still believe that clients have too many factors to consider for a vet clinic to schedule appointments strictly online. You can make appointments with NOVA over the phone, but it is not a smooth process, either. Online, you request a date and general time for an appointment. But you don't know whether you have secured that slot until you get an e-mail confirmation. If you didn't get the slot you requested and the confirmed slot doesn't work, then you have to go through another process to change the scheduled date/time. But a greater problem is completing and submitting the forms required prior to a visit. NOVA requires an electronic signature, which is awkward for people who are not accustomed to how this process works. The greatest frustration, however, is that this process provides the client no confirmation that the form was received. Subsequently, we receive notices that we have not submitted the requested forms. When we have contacted the office staff, sometimes they have received them. Other times, the office staff says that "the system" sends out these requests even if the forms were received. This is NOT a fault of the office staff, but it IS a fault that the owners of NOVA need to correct.

Office staff is kind & courteous and the Dr was informative with care instructions, the only con is it takes at least 2 weeks to get in for an appt (even for a sick pet).

Dr. Valentino was very informative and super helpful with my sometimes grumpy older male cat! She called him “the perfect gentleman”, and although we love him very much, we don’t call him that at home ????.

We've been bringing our cats to Nova Cat Clinic for as long as we've lived in Arlington and been cat owners. This is absolutely the best feline-focused vet we've used. Staff are courteous, really knowledgeable, and super helpful.

The vets at Nova Cat Clinic and staff are great. I took in my 5 month old kitten and they did a full work up - diagnosed her - and recommended an appropriate place for follow up. The vets were kind and caring and knowledgeable- they all took time to talk to me and explain what was wrong. Both kitty and I were very happy with the service we received. Highly recommended!

I called a week ago for a prescription refill for my cat, acknowledging in the message I left that he had not been there for about a year during the height of COVID, but offering to transfer records from another vet I had seen in the interim in another state. No one ever returned my call, so when I called back several days later and finally reached someone, I was told they wouldn't refill the ear drops without doing their own exam and that the exam my cat just had elsewhere wasn't good enough. Every other vet I have taken my pets to over many decades have honored other veterinary records and now it is too late to schedule exam before we leave for holiday travel (with the cat). I am close to finding a new vet here because the communication is not great and constantly having to bring him in for unnecessary exams is becoming overly burdensome.

I'm a new cat mom and the treatment that Buddy received was stellar! I truly appreciated Dr. Torres's care and the professionalism of Jonathan each time that I called with further questions. I definitely believe that Buddy and I have found a permanent cat clinic with NOVA Cat Clinic.

This is the best clinic for cats I've ever been to .I had a cat that had an extreme situation( he's now gone on and crossed rainbow bridge ),Dr Marcus Brown was wonderful and the whole staff was great .I love Ellen the vet tech there. They all love the cats and the cats are just absolutely very well behaved. My cat who is a big whiner was perfectly calm there.

I had a great experience with NOVA Cat Clinic! Dr. Valentino was fantastic, walked us through everything that she was doing and her findings, and did not push us to make any decisions while still advising what she thought was best. Every staff member I dealt with was friendly and understanding and treated our little lady with the utmost care. Thank you all!

They did a great job when I brought my cat Izzy for a checkup. The appointment was quick and Izzy wasn’t distressed at all after the appointment. They even emailed a few days later to check up on Izzy. Overall, a great experience!

We've taken our young gentleman to NOVA since he was a kitten and have always enjoyed the highest level of care and best communication, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Highly recommended and trusted!

NOVA Cat Clinic diagnosed, prescribed, and guided me in the weeks prior to my precious cat's end-of-life. The doctors and staff were kind, compassionate, and responsive and communicated w me even after-hours. After I buried MC, I received warm emails and hand-written cards from the practice for which I am grateful. ????????????????????

It doesn't get better...have had our rescue cat seen by this practice...have boarded him there several times and repeatedly told what a treat he is...I have had cats for years and been with other practices and they were great but this one just exceeds all expectations. We are delighted to be part of their family. Kudos all around...and thank you Dr Bazemore!!!

Had a pleasant visit with our newly adopted cat. They were highly professionals and friendly, providing advice for introducing our cats and other small issues our cats were facing.

Friendly, thorough exam -- the doctor took a lot of time to answer my questions. I didn't feel rushed or pushed to agree to anything extra.

Great clinic! Not from here but my cat needed an emergency visit and they were super accommodating. When I got there, Angie went above and beyond to make sure me and my cat were comfortable and well taken care of, lovely staff and incredible experience will bring her back for any necessary appointments in the future

Grateful! Going to the vet is stressful for all of us, but today, after their first visit to Nova Cat Clinic, both kitties are out & about & relatively normal. Usually it takes the cats a few hours to a few days hiding under the bed to bounce back after seeing the vet, so I think being able to roam around the exam room helped them relax. I felt listened to & helped by everyone on staff that I interacted with, and I think Nova has really good, reasonable COVID protocols in place. I am so grateful & relieved to find a great vet clinic in our new location! Thank you, Dr. Bazemore!
