Caring Hands Animal Hospital Arlington, Virginia

Dr Brooks and her excellent Vet Tech. went above and beyond to take care of my 2yr old pup.

I got great service here, zero wait, everybody was friendly to my cat, and I felt like they cared about him and wanted to give him good care. They also let one pet owner into the exam room during the visit, which I think is extremely important. Prices are in line with the area.

The doctors at Caring Hands Arlington are very knowledgeable. We used to see Dr. Robinson for 10 years or so but he has moved on to start his own place (Pack Animal Care - Lorton). We just started seeing Dr. Andrea Deoudes and she is really knowledgeable and kind. The technicians are always great. Most recently we have seen Aresh and a woman with colorful hair (I forgot her name!). Both were great with my dogs. I have an old dog and a really shy/nervous dog. The front counter staff are always nice and helpful. The office has good Covid practices.

My kitten got neutered by Caring Hands in Arlington. She's just a baby, but she was so well taken care of that she didn't even have much pain after her surgery. The techs were great and even the doctor was great (I am terrible with names but I think it was Dr. Thornton) and they all called and updated me as the day went on. I am truly appreciative of the work they did and the way they handled my baby. If you are looking for a great vet or a great place to get your babies spayed/neutered- this is the one! :0]

Beatrice was anxious and a bit grumpy at first, but Dr. Brooks and her team were punctual, thorough, professional, and yes, CARING. While I was eager to get my furry girl back in her carrying case at the end of our appointment, she probably would have been happy to spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the treatment room and receiving loving attention these gifted professionals. My previous Caring Hands experience -- at the Van Dorn location with a different cat -- was excellent, but our visit to the more convenient South Glebe office was even better!

Recently I have seen complaints about Caring Hands , but I must STRONGLY disagree with the negativity. We have had nothing but positive experiences with the Doctors, Techs and staff at caring hands in Arlington . I usually don’t write reviews but I feel the need to praise the Doctors and Staff. We have two dogs who need a lot of care , a 6 year old rescue who was abused , with only sight in one eye , and a beautiful 16 year old Labordoodle. We have consistently used Dr Robinson for our dogs , he is a true animal whisperer! Recently our 16 year old was diagnosed with a tumor, Dr Robinson has been nothing but kind , yet very candid , I appreciate his honesty in regards to the prognosis . Having sung the praises of Dr Robinson ( which I could continue to do) our 16 year old gave us quite a scare this week. We thought it might be the time no one wants to face . On Sunday he stopped Eating , and started falling down randomly . Monday he had a terrible ( bowl) accident . I called caring hands and immediately they gave me an appointment , it wasn’t our trusted Dr . Robinson , he was not working on Tuesday , it was with Dr Garcia . Now I can’t say enough about Dr Garcia , her bedside manner and kind, caring manner ! She gently had the “talk” ( which we have before had ) with me about my 16 year old, but agreed his alertness gave her pause . She treated him with anti nausea meds , antibiotics and appetite stimulant . By that evening our dog was back on his feet , eating, smiling , asking for a walk. I’m so thankful for her seeing that although he is 16 with a tumor he still had love to give us and to receive from us. As anyone with a sweet dog like ours knows everyday is a gift ! Thank you Dr Garcia for seeing he wasn’t quite ready.. I now know that no matter who my precious boys see at caring hands that they will have the best care possible ! I can’t praise the docs without giving equal praise to the vet techs , they are equally compassionate and caring ! And the “front “line workers , the receptionist are also all top notch and professional . I have never called and felt like we weren’t important . And even when caring hands is booked they try hard to find an opening , quickly and efficiently . I appreciate the fact they field the calls from upset , worried pet parents with a caring concern. I want to Thank all the staff at Caring Hands!

Everyone made me feel so very comfortable here! Seriously some of the kindest people I’ve met and I will definitely be returning. So professional and clean and soothing atmosphere. The doctors and nurses are wonderful.

I contacted “Caring” Hands and explained that my dog had bloody and severe diarrhea…the lady told me they could see him in three weeks! Three weeks?? He would have been dead by then. The only advice she could give me was to call one of their other Caring Hands locations (can’t they check if any of their other locations has availability?). No emergency care referral or anything…I had to call around and research on my own…luckily I found a wonderful animal hospital..they admitted my buddy for two days and got him back to good health. Caring Hands has been my dog’s main provider for 2 years but no more! I’ve been asking them about other routine care for my animal and they’ve just ignored me…no follow up.

Dr. Robinson and the vet techs provided exceptional care to my dogs. I highly recommend Caring Hands Animal Hospital!

I cannot say enough good things about Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Arlington, especially Dr. Robinson. He is our dog's regular vet and he has always been wonderful, thorough, empathetic and expense conscious. We recently had a cancer scare with our dog- which if you've ever had one, can feel life shattering. I called that day, a complete mess, and they were gracious enough to squeeze my girl in and start tests. He helped to bring me back down to Earth (after almost 30 minutes on the phone of having him repeat & clarify things to me), start to formulate a plan, and even texted an oncologist in the area just in case my dog did end up having cancer. He called me first thing this morning with a positive report, and walked me through what the growth was, course of treatment, and what the next steps were. I wish ALL providers- for humans or animals- were this conscious, caring, thoughtful, comforting and clear. I also truly believe that he just wants the best for his patients & their families & I appreciate how he is very aware of how expensive veterinary care can be and does not recommend unnecessary screenings, procedures, etc until there are more answers. Every vet tech, receptionist, etc that I have ever interacted with here in the almost two years I've been coming here have been nothing but wonderful. This place is a gem, and I am so grateful to have found them. Thank you Caring Hands!

I throughly enjoy taking my pet here to Caring Hands everyone who works here is super friendly, knowledgeable and are great with animals. I always leave there knowing my pet is in great caring hands.

Not sure if my dog is the most difficult one they've had to deal with, but I'd say they do the best job they can with animals of all attitudes.

Even during a pandemic the staff at Caring Hands made me feel comfortable bringing my cats in. Everyone takes time to answer questions, provide advice, and soothe my worries. Not only that, but appointments are painless (for me, anyway) and easy! So glad AWLA recommended Caring Hands.

I feel so comfortable and confident with Caring Hands caring for our dog, Chief. They always communicate what they think is best and walk us through how each visit went. I know I can trust the doctors here and feel great about bringing Chief in for anything he needs. Our dog is in the best hands here!

Dr. Robinson and Willow are two of the kindest, most compassionate and empathetic people I have ever met. My 18 year old cat was euthanized today. I was given options and the doctor took his time explaining everything to me. He actually said, "We're on your time, not ours." The respect I felt is unparalleled. Putting my cat to sleep was sad but these two providers made it a tender, beautiful and spiritual experience. This practice deserves a million stars. Thank you so much!!!!!!! Maria Fisher

We love Caring Hands staff and vets. Have been taking our dog here for 2 years and we trust them every time. Always friendly and efficient.

I have a new puppy who became ill and they took really good care of him. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. I am using them as my vet for my little guy.

The worst hospital the doctor acts like he is doing you a favor while all the time he is tryings to chisel more money out of you , this is supposed to be about the animals

They are great with our animals and explain everything so we can understand. They don't push you to spend money but still give great care! Been going here for 15yrs

Our first visit with my Bichon puppy "Star Angel," the Asst. they all were very kind the Dr knew the information to her questions that my neice asked and she asked if I had any questions but she gave the answers to the questions that I was going to ask her without me actually telling her what they were. She explained in detail so I could understand. I really liked her and knew she was in excellent and caring hands. My niece used to work there she still take her 2 dogs there. They all are in Excellent Health! I would recommend her to anyone who is in search of a good Veterinarian. Thank you for caring for Star ????❤????????

I newly moved to the area and had a difficult time finding a vet taking new patients until I found caring hands. Had an appointment on Saturday and Jessica the tech and doctor were awesome got everything needed and everyone was very friendly and great!

I know people don’t give as much attention to cats sometime as they do dogs, but not true with Caring Hands and Dr. Robinson (Glebe Rd)...I’ve had three other vets over the last 15 years and nothing like the team here. It’s nice to know people care about my pets as much as I do and are willing to answer my many questions!

For years we took our pets to Fairfax Animal Hospital, but a few years back looking for a last minute appointment we went to the Arlington location and never looked back. All experiences here have been wonderful. All the doctors and techs there are absolutely great. They do an amazing job explaining everything and clearly love animals. We have two adult cats and a kitten on the way so we look forward to many years here.
