I would give a zero star if possible. We took our pet for an annual check-up, and they did drew blood from his neck area, and this is what happened. The bruises got worse and worse, so I called them every day to make sure if it's normal (because as a human, we get that after draw the blood), if not, we can take him to the hospital immediately. This NEVER happened to him before and first time we've saw him has those large bruises. They said it's normal to see some bruises and suggested us to pay 125 dollars to test 'blood clot.' Are you serious? I was expecting their sincere apologies about what happened. During my call with manager today, she basically told us 'if you worried about him that much, I would bring him to the emergency room because it's not normal. and it's not our technician's fault.' ARE YOU SERIOUS? I've called this hospital every day and what your team told me was to keep monitoring him. THANK YOU, VCA Annandale, for switching your words and this horrible experience! Please Avoid!!

Super service, even during quarantine. I have been able to text w/ the vet about a concern, meds were prepared for my pet and available for pick up same-day, and reminders have been sent about monthly medication. I've been completely satisfied with this vet both before & during quarantine!!

VCA Annandale is the best! We've been taking our cats and dogs to see their vets for almost 20 years. The vets are extremly knowledgeable, the staff professional and friendly. I highly recommend VCA Annandale.

Me and my family love the vets and people that work here. They are very loving to our pet. I cannot highly recommend them to pet parents looking for a vet they will trust and cherish.

I've been using this group of veterinarians since before they were part of a much larger group. When I had a beloved kitty put to sleep there, the vet and staff were incredibly compassionate and kind. A week later, I received a very sweet condolence card, signed by everyone, which included a three-dimensional nose print of my sweet boy ... I could not have been more surprised or touched!! My new kitty is very comfy at this vet, which is close to home. Good vets, great advice, excellent office staff. After a recent visit for a shot, they called to check how he was doing afterward.

I've been coming to this Veterinary Clinic for more than 20 years for multiple pets & have gotten first rate care for them all. But I've been out of work all winter w/ Pneumonia, which caused me to have to move & to not be able to afford to put my 22 yr. old cat down to prevent his suffering. VCA stepped in and agreed to euthanize my cat at no cost to me once they realized my situation & what a long time customer I was. It was devastating to me to lose a pet I'd had for 2 decades, but the thought of turning him over to the shelter as an unwanted pet was unbearable to me. The compassion VCA @ Annandale showed me was something I will never forget!! Now I can bury my cat like the wanted pet that he was instead of giving him up as a stray to relieve him of his misery. Thank you VCA & thank you Dr. Paradise... we will be forever grateful for what you did for us & our Kitty!!!!!!

One word: Unacceptable! I should have known when after multiple visits with my male new kitten, it took cutting my cat open to neuter for them to realize HE was actually a SHE. You're a VET...should have seen this the four visits before. NOW the horror story that I will NEVER recover from. I took my 17 yr old cat there to peacefully end her long loving life. At first they were calm using their soft voices, then after taking my credit card and over-charging for this service including an examine that DID NOT happen the quickly turned disrespectful. My cat wasn't friendly but also wasn't a killer tiger. Bottomline she was my baby for 17 yrs. They took her back to sedate her so they could insert IV. After a VERY painful 40 minutes, I exit room looking for staff. NO STAFF around. Finally a nurse shows-up to say "in soft voice" it took more time and more sedation because she was being difficult. I KNEW SOMETHING WENT WRONG. They brought her back in to me...basically ALREADY DEAD! Her tongue hanging out, limp, eyes black. They messed-up OVER-sedated her...basically killed her before I could say good-bye. The vet said "the sedation took long because she had bad blood circulation." BS..this was an 11 pound cat NOT a damn elephant. They took my good-bye away, they took my cat away too soon...I had to hold her limp head in my hands to say good-bye. Then we he finally gave her the final dose...it wasn't pleasant. Horrible noises from her. I will never recover from they put me and my cat through. It's all about money for them. I hope the branch shuts down. And here's a tip...at least have tissues in the room...and leave owners alone without having to be asked to leave.

People is very lovable. They took real care of my cooker spaniel. It was expensive, but I think everything they done was really urgent because my dog went there very weak and now he is waving his tail like a pro. He was almost blind for a long time, and now he had improved his vision. His ears were bothering him and now is listening everything. I hope next time wont be so expensive, because my cats are next.

Took my cat here because I was going to move and figured a checkup and a refill on my cats travel meds would be a good idea, everything seemed normal they gave my cat his rabies vaccination because it was due soon and drew some blood after that I took him home getting ready for the move. The vet called me a few days later wanting to test the blood again which costs another 150 dollars because they thought they saw something so I told them sure do it, they call me back with his numbers which at that time I didn't really know much about but they said it was bad and wanted to do medical tests and explorative surgeries on my cat... needless to say I took my cat elsewhere and that vet looked at the numbers and explained everything to me. What he told me was that all those procedures were unnecessary gave me some cat food for UT and a probiotic and said come back in two weeks. After two weeks they ran his blood and it came back great, VCA has become a place that does not care for pets and just wants money I am grateful that I listened to my gut and got a second opinion and saved my cat from the torturous procedures that VCA wanted to do.

Took my dog in because his paw was swollen. They checked it (in another room, out of my view) and came back in and said they found a cut and he would need sutures. The tech went to get me an estimate, and came back... $1,000! I said "I don't have $1,000 right now, can we do a payment plan or something?" The tech said, "we don't usually do payment plans, but let me go talk to the doctor". She left and went to talk to the vet. She came back in with the vet and he said "ok we can dress it and wrap it and see if that works" and they gave me antibiotics and anti inflammatory and wanted me to go back in 3 days to get it checked again and rewrapped. I never went back. I took him my family's vet, and guess what... the cut that "needed" sutures was completely healed. This vet said that a cut NEEDING sutures absolutely would not have healed completely in 3 days without them, even with antibiotics. VCA tried to rip me off for $1000! No wonder their parking lot is always empty. I'll never go back to this location ever again.

Expect A professional and caring environment upon every visit with folks who really care. Dr. Adsit is just wonderful with both her patients and her patient’s “staff!” Having taken my young kitten in for her “big girl surgery,” I needed as much support as my kitten- she looked so pathetic immediately after!) The doctor is patient, willing to answer questions and provides practical care advice. I can not recommend the clinic and staff with any greater enthusiasm.

WOW, some of these reviews are strange. We have brought ALL of our pets here for 5 years now (two dogs and two cats). Recently, within the last two years both my senior dogs had gotten very sick and had to be put down (CANCER SUX). The experience here was VERY SAD but professional. Parting with a pet is one of the most heart wrenching experiences one can go through and BOTH experiences were met with respect and kindness. One of the doctors even said a prayer for us (after she asked if it was OK). I will give you it's not cheap, BUT what is your loved one worth? Do they BECOME JUST PETS when they get sick or would YOU spend a few more dollars on a family member?? They gave me options BOTH times and never pushed or encroached on our sad experiences in the exam room. I've been in the Army for over 20 years now I have met lots of people, an consider myself a pretty good judge of character. The two (female) doctors that helped us through these experiences were VERY professional, NOT COLD professional but KIND professional! I'll pay some extra to get great service, quality care and a nice facility any day. I give them 110% positive - I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THERE WITH MY FAMILY AND I WHEN WE NEEDED YOU TO HELP US THROUGH THOSE HORRIBLE EVENTS. (MAXI and LIBBY RIP WE LOVE AND MISS YOU BOTH) They gave us, kindness, options, tissues, and respect.

My wife had a terrible experience here while bringing our cat to be put down. It's a terrible experience in itself having to put a cherished member of your animal family down, but VCA Annandale made it even worse. My wife called VCA Annandale to explain the situation prior to our appointment and the vet completely disregarded our family's wishes and repeatedly pushed $600+ in medical treatments for our 16+ year old cat. Ultimately, the vet disregarded our wishes and we got stuck with a $70 bill for the visit. But even worse is having to go again through the grieving process with my family and little girls while we look for another vet clinic. Wouldn't recommend this place.

I've been taking my two dogs here for 3 years and have had nothing less than stellar service from the Vets and techs. They offer a great puppy and adult dog pet plan that is affordable and covers just about everything. Highly recommend this vet clinic.

I had adopted my dog two days earlier and this was our first visit to the vet together. My dog has hypothyroidism and has to be under daily medication. I chose VCA as the shelter where I picked up the dog from recommended it. VCA offered a first "complimentary" visit. But it turned out a bitter experience. As a new dog owner you are given a lecture on what risks are out there--call it scare tactic. Fair enough. But nothing on her medication, and her blood test, sure....in six months! We nevertheless had a blood test. But the blood test was partial and includes only 4 key tests, not the T4 for the dog, which are critically important to check the condition of the thyroid. Next, we had a ear cleaning--at my request. But the vet cleaned one ear and sold me the product to clean the other ear. The dog is large, and the vet and his assistant were holding her while pouring the liquid in the ear. Needless to say that I completely failed when I tried to clean the dog's other ear later that evening. I needed an assistant too! Also they charge an anal gland clean, but nothing tells me that they performed it. Then I tried to get a prescription for the meds, and returned alone to clinic on the following Saturday. The vet was busy on a visit and I left the clinic empty-handed, with the promise, though, that the prescription would come on Monday. However, in the meantime the clinic tried to sell me the prescription medication--the dog needs the thyroidal replacement and the supplement. It took them 3 phone calls to come to the total $138 for both medications and shipment included, and of course, sorry for the inconvenience, they don't have the medications exactly, they have generics only. Providentially, VCA could not get to charge my credit card. I took it as a sign that I should try something else. So I ended ordering the medication from an online store..... For half the price!! and for the real stuff, not the generic. But the online store needed the prescription. Wednesday evening, still nothing from the vet. The online store just noted that they did *not* receive the prescription from the store. Had I opted to go with VCA, I would have already received the meds.... I am not going there again. They are only after your money, they cuddle the human companion, and pretend to be interested in the pet.

I have been coming here for 25 years. Seen lots of change and will say I LOVE this group of vets and support staff. I have 6 dogs and they have seen them all plus all my fosters, dogs that have passed on. Dr. Chang and Dr. Paradise are so awesome, caring, compassionate vets and have helped me make it through some tough patches. The support staff from the Vet Techs to the office staff are so warm and helpful, I know most of them by name (now with 6 dogs, all seniors you can imagine I am there often). Just a great place, great group of people who want to you and your pet feel better.

I've been taking my cats to VCA Annandale ever since the VCA Barcroft Cat Clinic closed its doors about a year ago. The staff and the vets are very nice and competent, and the office is clean and well maintained. Dr. Paradise is a pleasure to work with, as was Dr. Basemore from Barcroft (I believe she's now working at the other VCA cat hospital down on Route 1).

I still don't know what the fuss is all about. I've been bringing my cats here for years both before and after VCA took over after Zehmer and Witter left and the staff has never been anything less than kind and accommodating. Stop by on Friday for vaccines by the way. They do vaccine clinics. Half off :)
