I was unimpressed with my experience with this clinic. The front office staff were friendly and helpful. I appreciated how quickly they were able to get my dog in however I disliked the veterinarian that I saw very much. My feeling from …

We have been taking our pets here for 7 years now, our 18 year old cat is reaching the end of her life and of course I have lots of questions on what we can do for her. The vets have been extremely patient and took time out of their busy …

We had an emergency situation where our 1 year old puppy had gotten into some raisins from a gym bag. VCA was able to get us into their office and was performing treatment within less than a half hour of us calling them. We’re so grateful for their quick response, the manner in which they communicated the situation, and their willingness to talk through our extensive questions. Our girl is doing much better now and we are extremely satisfied with their service.

I had to take my border collie to have a growth aspirated today. I was quoted $209 with the understanding that the price could fluctuate if the sample needed to be sent to a lab. Upon pick up I was charged $522.03, $323.03 MORE than I was quoted with the cytology being $293.65 of that. I'm a single mom and barely making it as it is. It will take me a week of working just to pay my sister, who kindly paid the invoice, back. I cannot see the ethics in the decision to charge so much more without first asking me. The only option I was given was to not have the labs sent out. So I have to choose the health of my animal or put my financial security in an even more perilous situation. Obviously, all life is precious and I need to know what is happening with her so I just have to pay. I am sickened and feeling very taken advantage of. I would not recommend this vet unless you have money to burn. On top of that the vet we saw was very harsh with Charlotte. I am thoroughly disgusted.

Dr Hagan was very friendly understanding and helpful for our iguana since it's hard to find a trusting vet for reptiles. Staff was friendly and understanding about curbside pick up since I have a new born its rough to carry him and her AT the same time. So thank you very much for all you're help and kindness sincerely Mary and Staley Maynard VERY HIGHLY RECOMENDED FOR REPTILES PLUS this vet helps cats dogs as well very pleased and my husband is very picky so again HIGHLY RECOMENDED for minor to serious problems. ???? ????????????????????????????????

We come 300 miles to be able to take our kitties to see Dr Kanda. We always receive excellent, compassionate care from her and the staff at Mountain View. We always know our kitties will be loved and well cared for.

Multiple frustrating experiences on an administrative level. My dog is diabetic and requries reqular insulin shots. The clinic offers to take the used needles for recycling but that doesn't seem to be the case! You pull up (curbside service) and call from the parking lot. They tell you they will send someone right out but that doesn't happen! Last time my wife had to wait over 20 minutes before she got frustrated and had to take the box in herself. I just had to wait 90minutes in my car and still nobody came out! Calling didn't help as I was immediatly on hold. Really, we are just dropping the box off (5minute process tops)!! I get things happen but this isn't the first time. Vet techs where constantly coming out to service other patients. Why couldn't any of them take the box, considering they where standing right beside my car instead of making me sit and wait? I tried calling in for a status update at two different times this week. Was put on hold both times then the phone disconnected. Feel like I have to jump through hoops to get through have someone call me back. When I finally did get through, no timeline was offered. If the vet is busy, I get it, but I would expect that professionalism would dictate that some sort of timeline is set. "We will have her call you back but she is very busy so it may take a few days", would have been fine by me but no expectation was set. I don't feel like I'm getting the feedback that we need to make sure our loved one is getting the help she needs. I won't keep going through these hurdles with her well being. I understand and accept things happen and times are busy (I'm actually an extremely patient person) but enough is enough. We are not getting the servie we need if something as simple as dropping off a box of needles is such a difficult task. I will be looking for another clinic that can better help us with our dogs health.

I have been with this clinic for over a decade and three dogs. They are consistently responsive, competent and caring. All the staff and doctors. I have used the vet services, boarding services and grooming. My current dog recently had knee surgery. The follow up has been great and appreciate the financing options. Have and would totally recommend. I live in Draper, but find the travel to Sandy well worth it as I didn't find a vet in Draper I was happy with after trying three different clinics here. Have full trust in the care they put into my animals.

We've seen many vets in our life, but this place is truly the best. Every staff member I've interacted with has been sweet, caring, and incredibly kind. Dr. Ham is especially amazing. She treats our dogs like they are her own, and always gives us a wide range of options to tackle any problem that arises. They always make us feel like a top priority even when they are slammed to the gills with other patients. Thank you Mountain View and thank you Dr. Ham!

Dr. Kanda Hazelwood is the best in Utah!! She has taken care of many of my dogs and there isn’t anyone I would trust more. She is kind and just wonderful with the animals, and their owners. I moved to San Diego 9 years ago, and couldn’t find a vet I was as comfortable with as I was Dr. Hazelwood. I just recently returned to Utah and am thrilled she is still at Mountain View. You won’t find a better veterinarian in Utah!!

I called ahead to see if I needed an appointment to have my cat be seen for a cut on his back. They told me they could fit me in at 4-4:30. I ended up getting there at 4, talked to one person who had me fill out a new patient form. After that no one came to talk to me. I waited an hour in my car in 98 degree weather with my cat. I called back in to see if there was an ETA which I was told my wait could be a couple of minutes to a couple of hours. I was told multiple times I was the next walk in and it depended on the doctors schedules. If it is that busy they should be recommending appointments. There was poor communication, instead of being honest with me the girl told me she didn’t want to make me mad. It seems the staff doesn’t understand their own schedule or how to deal with their customers. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you want to sit in your hot car for hours.

I’m angry that I had to board my little Buddy one day early (before Memorial Day) because you wouldn’t pay an employee the $30 dollars to admit pets on the Holiday. These pets are significant to people and your focus on profit denied us a day. I’m going to, of course have to pay for the extra day that i missed my little Buddy. You should think beyond your convenience and profit.

Turned us away after recommending we bring our dog in who has been gagging and throwing up. We arrived right at 5:30 and they turned us away because they decided to end their walk-Ins for the day and we should go to the Emergency hospital which everyone knows will be several hundred dollars more just to be seen.

The staff at the front desk were pleasant and professional. But it seems the hospital is there to maximize cash flow. Dr Hazelwood was very arrogant and condescending, it seems she has a super vet complex. I take good care of my children. I’m a retired ICU nurse, I think I can follow simple Rx instructions and monitor my little fur baby’s behavior. I don’t need the attitude, I already have a wife.

Dr Hazelwood was really great with my cat who needed an I-131 treatment, and was able to schedule him in quickly for treatment. The vet and techs were also really good at providing continuous updates, even though my phone was not so good at showing me their messages. The only disappointing thing is that they don't make it easy for you to take advantage of the Trupanion pet insurance direct billing that they participate in; none of the forms even give you a chance to indicate you have Trupanion insurance and would like them to submit the claim directly to Trupanion for reimbursement.

Prepare to be extremely frustrated with what you hear from the front desk staff. My wife and I are fed up with all the inconsistencies over the past couple years or so. I call and get told one thing, then she shows up with our dog and is told completely different. COVID protocol for car-side patient drop off has been in effect for a whole year and it is still a terrible way of doing things. If you’re going to insist on a waiting scheme that is even more stringent than major “people hospitals,” you’ve absolutely got to meet folks in the middle with being willing to notify and place phone calls in anticipation of admitting. I’ll try to give a nutshell version of today’s events: We needed to get our dog in for some acute symptoms this morning and at 10:30am I was told “All four of the docs that will be here today are already in, so we can do walk-in before 5pm or schedule an appt for tomorrow morning at 9. It does get busier as the day goes on ...” Just an hour later my wife arrives and is told she will need to wait at least another hour in the parking lot. Apparently 3 of the 4 docs were in surgeries, which I’m assuming would have been on the schedule already when I called. Would have gone immediately and not bothered with a shower if we’d been told about that. When asking about just being able to wait at home and get a phone call when they’re going to be ready (we literally live a mile away, down the same street as the clinic) it was pulling teeth to even get them to consider it. My wife was even discouraged from driving around the nearby neighborhood rather than sit static in the parking lot with a dog who knows exactly where she is and getting increasingly nervous. She was told “yours isn’t the only dog who doesn’t like it, it is what it is.” Inconsiderate, rude, unapologetic, and frankly non-sensical as they are knowingly stressing out pets before they see them ... ? They booked us an appt for 12:30 (I received both text and email confirmations for it) but at 1:09 pm I called to cancel (still yet to be admitted), as my wife was now on the way to a different vet. We are so done with this one, good riddance. Shame though, after 6 years of regular care here. This place has had some great docs in recent years, but we’ve had to change docs about every two years because they leave the location. The staff is horribly inconsistent and uncaring (which in hindsight might explain why those docs tend to move on). Take your pet elsewhere. UPDATE: Night and Day difference in her experience after taking her to a different place. So much more understanding and accommodating. Got chest X-rays and medication all in about an hour. Please just do yourself a favor and skip this clinic.

Couldn't follow their own COVID protocols. Fell short on the service as explained to me. Then charged me an incorrect amount and held my dogs hostage until a manager could correct the amount.

Love the doctors here. They always make it a point to treat our boy with the care he needs. He is not a fan of the vet and he starts a shakin. The ladies are always so nice and get down on the floor with him to comfort his shivering little legs.

I have been going here for a long time. Never had a complaint. But than my dog had to get a surgery on her eye. She got it done but than the bump came back that they were supposed to remove. They told us they would have to do the surgery again. And they made us pay full price twice for the procedure. Its not my fault that they didnt do it right the first time. I didn't love that experience.

I hardly ever give low reviews. We recently adopted a rescued dog who was badly in need of a grooming. She was going to need a sedated grooming which is where it all started. We were required to get an initial checkup in order to schedule a sedated grooming. She was socialized more to a pack of dogs than humans and as such goes into defensive mode pretty easily when scared (hence the need for a sedated grooming) and was prescribed some medication by the vet to be used "2 hours prior to a stressful event". There were specific instructions that were supposed to be left by the vet for the groomer that never were. I took her in for the grooming, verified that it was going to be a sedated grooming and a full grooming with specific things needing to be taken care of during the sedation plus a request that they contact us just prior to the grooming so we could verify everything that was going to be taken care of. That call never came and late in the afternoon when we contacted Mountain View, we came to learn that our dog had not been sedated and that none of the grooming instructions had been passed along. Little to no grooming was actually done. Currently, less than a month later, nails are well past a half inch long on all feet .. she's a 17 pound terrier. At pickup, personal items (comfort blanket, leash) had been misplaced, though ultimately it was determined that they had been left at the front counter (after we had picked up our dog) requiring an additional trip to retrieve the items. I called to speak with the office manager and was told she had just left for the day, explained everything that had happened to one of the reception people and was told that I would receive a call from the office manager the following day. I'm still waiting. I don't know if it's VCA in general, or just endemic to Mountainview, but there is little to no interoffice communication happening. These are the people who we are supposed to trust with the well being of our furred friends.

Have to give 1 star, but 0 is what it deserves! Completely unimpressed! Brought my 12 week old puppy in for a UTI and we left her at the clinic due to work schedules. She has been miserable for over 24 hours. Nothing was done at all. No medication given and she literally sat in a kennel in her own urine, because when we picked her up , her stomach was soaking wet. Do not use this clinic. $215 for an antibiotic. LIVID!!!

My own Vet, Copperview in Riverton, would not see my dog when she needed emergency service on a Friday morning. This place took her right in! This is our new place.

Long wait just for them to be way over priced, and when my dog came out he had a nasty smell to him.

I had an emergency with my cat at a very terrible time (during COVD-19) and they were SO helpful!!!! They were so kind, patient and very efficient. If you are looking for a good vet for your family, this is 100% your place!!!

We took our dog in because he was having trouble seeing. The vet said it was just allergies and his vision was fine. When we gave him examples of why we thought his vision was getting rapidly worse he didn't seem to care or listen to us. We then immediately took him to a eye care clinic in milcreek because we had no faith in the mountain view vet. We found out our dog has retina detachment and was 2 days from going permanently blind and needed immediate action. If your dog has vision issues do not see mountain view. Update: Although I had a initial bad experience here, Mountainview was proactive and called me to apologize. They also gave me a refund and explained what they were going to do to ensure this does not occur to anyone else. I am adjusting this review from a 1 star to 3 stars. Thanks Mountainview for listening to my concerns and taking the appropriate actions.

Being new to Sandy I didn’t have a vet nearby when my dog Bailey took a turn for the worse. It would have been too far to drive to see our old vet in Park City so we called VCA and they accommodated us during COVID-19 and we’re able to provide end of life care. While it was a terrible thing we were going through the Vet was kind and reassuring that we knew it was time to let out dog go. They let us spend as much time as we needed saying goodbye, I am grateful for the staff and would recommend VCA to anyone looking for a caring veterinary clinic.
