New Years Day 2022....our English Bulldog is having issues with his cork screw tail and our vet is closed. Called these guys, very polite and concerned. Got Henry, our pup in, staff is excellent. Too bad this an emergency clinic. Thank you very much for your excellent customer service ???? ???? ????

This place is an absolute joke. We have had numerous bad experiences with them. We had a puppy that had a broken toe. We took her in to the emergency vet as a last resort. After spending over 4 hours at the vet, they finally brought the puppy out and it had a cast on the wrong foot!?!?! The toe that was broken was on the back leg and the cast was on the front leg. They don't care about customers and they don't care about pets. They only care about making money and unfortunately for Southern Utah pet owners, they have a monopoly for veterinary services after hours.

Very grateful they are open in the middle of the night! My cat was not acting like himself at all and I didn’t feel like it could wait. I called first. There was no wait when I got there. They were very friendly and responsive and listened to all of my concerns. Thorough exam. Did not rush me. Offered, but didn’t force blood work. I opted for the blood work for my own peace of mind. Ollie was given fluids. Given a treatment plan that met my expectations and offered a return visit in a few days if necessary. Told me to call him if I had any concerns and gave me his schedule for the next few days. Fees were what I would expect from an emergency animal hospital. In 17 years, this was the best vet visit I’ve ever had. I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

Our dog was in a fight with another dog and was bleeding a lot through the nose. I called and got an immediate response. We took her there and the service was very fast and the staff was very friendly. And the price was not too expensive. I would highly recommend them if your animal is in an emergency, they will take care of it ASAP

The holidays came up and my 8 month old cat was so sick, I drove from Kanarraville to get my baby boy to the vet because everywhere was closed early. I waited 5 hours to be seen, after being cut in line because I wasnt a regular. After seeing them, they were unkind to my cat, way too ruff with him. They gave me the bill and it was over $600 for the visit, for an antibiotic, some fluids, and to meet with vet. I asked for a payment plan or if that was something that we could do because I didn't have that kind of money but my kitty was sick and needed help. They declined stating I could either pay the $600 in full or pay the $300 and get out. I didn't have the $600, they wouldn't do anything to help him. I had to wait 5 hours, for horrible service, and my kitty went home sick. This is the worst place I have ever been to. I'll never take my animal here again, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Take your pets elsewhere, they don't care for your animals only what's in your wallet.

When my little dog had a mystery allergic reaction that wouldn’t go away and our regular vet couldn’t see us for a month, I desperately reached out to Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic. I’m so glad that I did because as scary as my situation was, the experience I had here was SO pleasant. The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. The front receptionist was so sweet and answered all my questions. The vet techs I saw were cheerful, thorough, helpful and kept me calm. Plus, my dog is a chihuahua and generally has a hard time with strangers; he did SO well with the vet and vet techs here, they were so kind and patient with him. The vet I saw REALLY took the time to sit down with me and my dog and come up with a plan to help him, as well as explain the medication, different possibilities of causes of my dogs allergic reaction and answered any other questions I had. A few days later I also got a text from them to see how my dog was doing and if I had any questions, and that meant a lot. This is a great facility! The wait times can be long and it’s not fun to take your pets to the emergency clinic, but it’s WORTH it! Thank you Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic!!

I came in with my sweet elderly dog, Frances. I live 2 hours away and this was the only vet available for emergency care. The staff were very sweet, patient, responsive and went above and beyond to try and get ahold of my local vet. I had to put her down and the vet and staff made it as comfortable as possible for my sweet old dog. The compassion that emits from these ladies is unmeasurable when it comes to our fur babies. Well worth the far drive and I highly recommend them to anyone.

We have been here twice now. Once with our dog and once with our cat. We saw two different vets and they were both really wonderful and kind. The staff was also very nice and kind. Thank you al for being there and caring for our babies ♥️

We were concerned our puppy may have had parvo, we took him in later in the day and the staff is very helpful. The test did take quite a while, and we had to stay in our vehicle until they knew if he had it or not. But the receptionist brought us water bottles so it wasn’t so bad. Overall the staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful. Hopefully we don’t have to go back to the emergency clinic, but if we do I trust this one.

There’s no word that can describe how thankful I am , Dr Strasser is the most kind, caring understanding vet, he was so patient and took time to listen and explain all the options we had to save our baby Muffin…. Everyone was super friendly and caring, can’t remember all of their names, but Brittany was exceptional, we always felt like if we were family, everyone very professional. Everybody at the emergency help to save Muffin. I can’t thank you enough, After two emergency surgeries, sleepless nights and stressful days, Muffin made it, she is recovering and forgets she only has 3 legs now.. I only wish Dr. Strasser could be taking care of my dog always not only in an emergency ????He is absolutely the best of the best!… I will recommend ???? % to anybody who has an emergency. This emergency clinic It’s super clean too, that’s a plus! All my family Thank you ???? XOXO ???? ????❤️

My dog had to have emergency surgery after getting into the garbage. Dr. Murdock performed the surgery and was very informative and kind. The surgery went well, and they were very nice about all of my calls during the night and the next day asking for updates. Dr. Strasser performed all the follow up visits and phone calls, and he was awesome! He put my anxiety at ease and listened to every concern I had. I really cannot say enough about how amazing this place was. In such a scary time, they were so kind and patient. Every staff member I encountered was friendly. I've had a few experiences with some emergency vets in slc for other dogs and have always left feeling disappointed, frustrated, or dismissed but this experience was quite the opposite. Thank you Southwest for saving my pup!

We’ve had had to take our dog here many times and every time we’ve called, Brittany, the front desk receptionist is always a pleasure to deal with. She’s very kind, polite, efficient, and professional. She plays an important role in what makes this clinic successful. Thanks Brittany for your help on our visits!

Our experience with SW Animal Emergency Clinic was outstanding. We called to see if we could schedule an appointment on a busy holiday weekend and were informed they don’t schedule appointments but would add our name to the list and call us in approx. 1.5 to 2.5 hours to bring our pet into the clinic for treatment. They called in exactly the time frame they promised and we only had a brief wait before being seen by the vet. He was gentle and thorough in his exam and recommended treatment appropriate for the situation. Charges were comparable to if we visited our regular vet. Office and clinical staff were extremely competent and professional. All patrons were treated with respect, courtesy and impressive compassion when necessary. We would highly recommend this practice in an emergency situation and are grateful they are in St George.

Our three dogs were trapped in the house when it caught fire. Some of you may have seen the body cam footage of SGPD breaking the door down and getting two of the dogs out. The third was hiding In The bathtub and wasn’t found at first. The bathroom sustained heavy fire damage, and while extinguishing the flames they heard Cassie whimper in the tub. She was brought out and rushed over to Southwest Animal EC. She was in rough shape. Heavy smoke inhalation as well as burns. They treated my dog as if it was theirs. Everyone there took a special interest in Cassie and worked for 5 days to nurse her back to a point that she could come home with us. Cassie still has a long road to recovery, but that never would of happened if it wasn’t for Southwest Animal EC and their entire staff. Thank you, I’m for ever grateful.

Absolutely terrible and no help at all. My dog was having nonstop seizures in the morning, my vet doesn’t open til 8 and it’s 7:40 so I call the emergency vet because it’s a pretty time sensitive emergency. Whoever answered the phone proceeded to tell me they stop helping patients at 7:30 since they close at 8am. And so I asked if she could at least give me some advice on what to do, and to which I was replied with “I don’t have her blood work so I can’t help you” Thanks a lot for nothing. Would not recommend this place.

Came in with my dog not eating or drinking for the past two days, she wasn't able to walk straight. The vet told me she would be comfortable with my dog going home she didn't even seem like she cared all too much even though she admitted to my dog being really sick with possible pyometra. Well my dog didn't survive the night, and the more I looked into pyometra in dogs she should have been a bit more concerned about my dog. I have no doubt that the lack of care was the cause of my dogs death, more should have been done if pyometra was suspected other than billing me for 500 and not doing a thing to help my dog. Even if I had left my dog over night I am not confident they would have done anything until it was too late.

My wife had called Thursday morning because our dog was having seizures. We have never experienced anything like that before because our dog was healthy and not epileptic. I'm at work already and she is at home with our 1 year old son. So my wife called around 7:30 and they told her that they were closing soon and couldn't take anymore animals. This I understand, but when my wife asked for help in anyway, she was told there's nothing they could do at all. They didn't give her any advice or any comfort in this scary situation. Told her to call other places and that was it. Our dog did not get better at all and passed away later that day. I'm not putting the blame on anyone but this place for sure did not help out at all.

Five stars is not enough!! From the incredibly caring and knowledgeable receptionist to the great listening and sincere Dr.Strasser, they instantly took a stressed and emotional dog owner and made him calm and confident that I took my chihuahua to the right place! So friendly and professional, they even called me the next day to ask how my dog was doing! I was happy with my regular vet, know after my visit to Southwest Animal Emergency I feel they can improve!

They helped us save our cats life. Couldn’t be more grateful and loved how genuine and kind they were every step of the way. Everyone was super professional, helpful and made us and our cat’s situation better. Definitely will be going to them if we have another animal emergency.

We had such a great experience with Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic! Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and so attentive. They took wonderful care of my cat in his back to back visits for urinary crystals and he’s doing so much better. Thanks so much to Dr Murdock and the techs and staff at the clinic!

I called on a Sunday night (Mother’s Day) around 8pm because our dog Ringo had been throwing up a lot, he was extra tired and you could tell from his usual playful self that he wasn’t feeling good. The receptionist was super helpful and told us it might be a little wait because they were busy. When we got there they got us in very quickly and everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable. Having a boxer/pit it’s hard to find someone who is helpful but the whole staff was truly amazing and took such good care of our baby. They even called us back on Tuesday to check and see how Ringo was doing.. To the whole staff you were all amazing and we totally appreciate how well you took care of our Ringo. Five ⭐️‘S isn’t enough!! Thanks for everything

My 8 year old Daisy was having cluster seizures and we were afraid she may have to be put down. The doctor here prescribed additional meds for her and gave her a shot and she is a new girl. What a relief for us. Thank you.

Returned home from work at 5:07 pm on a Friday to find my dog could barely walk and was yelping and whimpering, shaking and drooling with every step. Was frantic to find a vet open after 5 pm going into the weekend. Such a relief when they picked up immediately and got her right in! 100% positive experience! Everyone is pleasant and their facility is very clean. They even helped unload and load her back into the car. The vet did not try to convince me she needed a bunch of unnecessary, expensive procedures. I was given pricing up front and options. Of course, I'd have sold a kidney to make sure my dog was no longer in pain and they made that happen for much less than I'd anticipated. I fully expected to be told she'd need put down. Yes, their prices are a bit higher than your regular vet but they are open 24/7 and fully staffed for emergencies. My apologies: I was pretty stressed, so don't remember everyone's names but want to shout out a huge thank you for being amazingly kind and helping my Maggie feel better. 100% recommend!

We had to call SWAEC after our two dogs were potentially exposed to Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) while we were on a roadtrip 2,000 miles away from home. Dr. Strasser and the entire team were amazingly professional, understanding, and composed allowing our dogs to jump to the front of the line given the emergency nature of exposure to these toxins. Dr. Strasser explained the three types of toxins they could have been exposed to, the tests being performed, and their results in an easy to understand manner that reduced our stress and worry about our two dogs. After our initial visit, we went back two more times for follow-up blood work to ensure that the liver function of our dogs was within normal range (a side effect of blue green algae exposure). We cannot recommend Dr. Strasser and the team enough to travelers and residents alike.
