We took our two dogs in to get spayed. They were dropped off at 8:30 am and scheduled for pick up at 4 pm. Upon picking up, both dogs were lethargic as you would expect from having major surgery and a big dose of anesthesia. Once home our older puppy (14 months) was not acting right at all, even given the stress of the day. She was shaking uncontrollably and would not relax at all. A shirt was placed on both dogs to help keep them from licking their incisions. When our older pup rolled over to her back there was a very large (bigger than a softball) and fresh blood spot on the shirt. Our other dog was not having this same issue. It was enough to make us concerned, but because of the late pick up time, Animal Medical Hospital was closed. We contacted the Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic and told them we would be coming in. The vet assessed her and with the use of ultrasound determined there was internal bleeding and her abdomen was full of blood. Southwest Emergency contacted Dr. Bracken and unfortunately he had been called out of town on a large animal call. We discussed options with the emergency vet. Our options were to take her home with a belly band and hope that she didn't die overnight and Mo Bracken could probably see her the next morning, or have emergency surgery and have a much better chance she would be okay. We opted for emergency surgery ($1,640) and left her overnight at Southwest Emergency. The emergency vet called and told us that there didn't appear to be any obvious negligence, but there was a small tear or cut away from where the ovaries and uterus had been removed in the abdomen that was causing the bleeding. The bleeding had been stopped and everything seemed to be good. She was picked up the next morning and monitored at home. She was extremely lethargic, wouldn't eat, and literally laid on the couch in her dog bed for 15 hours without attempting to move. After the first two hours (about 9 am) Animal Medical was called and we were assured that her behavior was normal because of the amount of stress and two doses of anesthesia in 24 hours. We were told we would get a call back to check on both of our pups later in the day. At 3:30 pm no call had been made so we called again. This was VERY DISAPPOINTING TO ME as Mo had been made aware of the issues with our pup the night before when issues had begun. The office manager said there was a note to call and check, but that hadn't happened yet. I expressed my frustration and Dr. Bracken was put on the phone. I went through the entire thing with Dr. Bracken and asked if there was anything he was willing to do to help offset the cost, like a partial refund of the $407 we had spent at his office. Dr. Bracken stated he would discuss it with his office staff and call back Friday morning. The next morning the office manager did call and check on the pups, but Dr. Bracken did not call back until after 3 pm. Dr. Bracken stated that he had done everything right and that both dogs were completely fine when they left his office. I told him that both dogs had been carried from his office to the car, from the car to the house, and laid in their dog beds. They weren't running or doing anything they were not supposed to be doing. Dr. Bracken stated that because we were given two options and chose to have emergency surgery his office would not be doing anything to help offset that cost. The option to take our dog home with a belly band and hope she survived until morning wasn't really an option at all. The emergency vet even said that while technically an option, it was not recommended. If we wanted our dog to survive, there really wasn't more than one option. I don't think Dr. Bracken was negligent during the surgery, but something did happen to cause the internal bleeding, so there is some type of liability there. We weren't asking for the world, but some small token of recognizing the situation, which we did not receive. We ended up paying over 4 times the cost of two dogs getting spayed just to get her back on the road to recovery.

I've never been disrespected by such an unprofessional and incompetent staff in all my life. The owner of this business needs to start recording the phone calls and do some trainings. You don't need to talk to rude, insulting people when your stressed about the health of your pet.

Extremely disorganized office made our vet trip much longer than necessary (we were passed around every member of the staff and checked in twice - wouldn't it make more sense to have 1 person handle 1 case so there's no miscommunication?) The main vet was like the sloth from Zootopia, not remotely helpful, and extremely condescending. My pet was given unrelated medicine for no reason and with no explanation (why give a cat penicillin if I'm taking them in for not eating?) Staff in general was very unhelpful and didn't even seem to know how to deal with cats - it seemed like a very dog-oriented place. The whole trip was a long, disappointing waste of time. We were told nothing was nothing wrong with our pet, and left without answers and regretted having spent any time or money there at all (a month later we had to take our cat to an emergency vet for the same symptoms where we were told she has hyperthyroidism.) I would go to another - better - vet 40 minutes out of town before even considering going back here.

Dr Bracken and his staff are so caring and patient with my bulldogs. I really appreciate the level of care my pets receive at AMH.

We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Dr. Bracken took amazing care of my Teddy and his procedure went smoothly. I would recommend this veterinary office as the best in St George.

We have been taking our animals here for years and couldn't be happier with the high level of care that is provided. The staff is so welcoming and caring and the fees are affordable. Highly recommend!

You’re better off taking your pets somewhere else, especially if you have a cat. The vet is very condescending and a rude old man who talked down to me like I was incompetent. My cat hated him and he wasn’t very good with her either. No one in the office seemed to know how to even pet a cat. He was very slow moving and it took a lot longer than it should have. While we were there for an appointment, the power went out. Not a great sign when we were waiting on bloodwork that was only supposed to be a 10-minute wait. And even then, they complete forgot about us in the dark. Don’t waste your time or money and go to one of the other vets in town.

Dr. Mo Bracken is absolutely wonderful with animals. The visit was reasonably to priced. I'm taking my dog back to the Animal Medical Hospital on May 25, 2021 for a teeth cleaning. The procedure is also reasonably priced and only 2/10 of my previous vet's quote.

I took my boxer there. The front desk ladies were friendly but the vet is really slow didn't give much information. Very slow and i thought it was a joke having someone that old trying to give my 90lbs dog a shot. No disrespect but I honestly think it's not a the right place to take my dog in the future. I would probably try a different place next time.

This is the best bet in town. They really care about your pet as much as you do. Got me in the same day when I was having quite a scare with my pup. Did just say when they were available next but they ask what was going in and go me in right away. Will never take my pup anywhere else.

An amazing Veterinary Hospital what is very skilled veterinary technicians, my dog tried to eat a cactus quills got stuck on the top and bottom of his tongue my wife rushed down there and they immediately were able to get the quills out the first time they tried which surgeon like skills. We were In and out Out in 5 minutes and they didn't even charge us, this place is awesome.

If I could give them 20 stars that would not be enough. Dr Bracken, Sharlene and Cheri have taken care of our pets for over 10 years and have treated them with excellent care and love. Like they were their owns Pets. Just can't say enough goods things about them.

They never up charge me, and they often give me a few services free if done with other services. Super friendly and caring. I’ve been going to them for years, and they will get you in fast and I never have to wait.

I went in twice. Once for vaccine updates, once for a physical for my 2 dogs. Low prices. Which was nice. But I didn't meet Dr. Bracken until the second time for the physical. He stumbled into the room in slow motion, barely able to keep his eyes open. I asked a few questions about the health of my animals and received vague answers without solutions. He was speaking so slowly he was like the sloth in 'Zootopia'. I had full conversations with myself between his words. He seemed like he was high as a kite. I will give it to him, he was very kind with my dogs. But kindness doesn't fix their health problems and leaving there I felt so, incredibly uncomfortable. I won't take my dog-babies back. I don't trust that Dr. Bracken knows where he is, let alone what he is doing. Low prices are nice. But that 2nd trip I feel like I paid for nothing. And it made me question the legitimacy of the 1st visit. It was a scary experience, thinking that that man could have potential power over animals' wellness and lives in that condition. Maybe if he were sober he could be brilliant. But something is going on there and he needs help before he should be in charge of anyone's health. I wish Dr. Bracken the best. But do not go to the Animal Medical Hospital if you value your animals' safety.

Don't bring kids here. The receptionist was very rude and acted like my kids were an inconvenience. If I didn't have my kids with me, I probably would have a more positive review. They got me an appointment quickly, the tech was kind, the appointment was quick and cheap. However, I don't think my opinion of the receptionist would be different. She was not kind at all.

This feels like your old hometown vet experience, meant in best way possible. I believe they have 2 vets there but I have only met with Dr. Bracken when I went. Soft and slow, he spends half his time with you and half with your animal. I had an x-ray done in one visit, which was digital so he is up to date on tech. But there was also a time I declined 1 diagnostic out of 3, not because it was inappropriate or unnecessary but because I understood what I was refusing and we could live without the answer. Point being: he offered me everything reasonable but didn't pressure me to do any of it. All of the staff are kind. My only issue was my last appt was a little farther out on the calendar then I think was usual, but maybe that is a pandemic thing. G-d I can't wait for this pandemic to be OVER.

I would not recommend taking your pet here. Dr. Bracken stumbled into the room and could barely keep his eyes open during the visit. I honestly didn’t know if he was sober or not. I didn’t trust him to take care of my fur baby and I felt extremely uncomfortable there.

PLEASE IF YOU HAVE AN ANIMAL EMERGENCY DONT WASTE PRECIOUS TIME TAKING THEM HERE. GO TO SOUTHWEST ANIMAL EMERGENCY OR ST GEORGE VETERINARY HOSPITAL (other places also treat emergency surgeries depending on the time of day). I can’t stress enough how many times brackens has turned down more critical situations and referred people to go somewhere else. They don’t provide as much veterinary care as other animal medical centers. They serve mainly for minor non emergency issues only and they should be displaying it on their main page but inconveniently lack this information making it so a lot of animals don’t get proper treatment in time. They lie on their website saying they are a full service medical center that treats emergency and non emergency but this is very untrue. I’ve seen people bring in animals needed for emergency treatment and they told them to go somewhere else. I’ve made appointments by phone and I’ve had them tell me they have to call me back due to someone bringing in an animal hit by a car and they had to refer them to someone else. This happens all the time at this place, save time and your pet by going to a different vet.

First time at Animal Medical Hospital. Took our cat and dog in for vaccines. The staff was friendly and quick. We were in and out in 20 minutes and the price was very fair.
