UNBELIEVABLY BAD! WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER. WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS. I should have paid more attention to the online reviews for this vet, Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM. My small dog and I are a customer of Willis Animal Hospital and Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM. Our first visit was earlier this year and my dog received an annual checkup, bloodwork and vaccinations. The visit was fine and Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM was professional and courteous. Yesterday I needed an Rx for Royal Canin Weight Control dry dog food, as it was discussed during our previous visit that my dog should lose weight. I called the office and asked for the prescription and they told me that they would not email it to me, that I had to pick it up in person. I live at Lake Livingston and it is a 70-mile round trip and 1.5 hour drive for me to get their office. It's very inconvenient and time-consuming. I arrived at Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM's office today and after ringing the bell, Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM greeted me at the front. I mentioned that I was driving 70 miles and taking 1.5 hours just to pick up an Rx, and asked why they couldn't just email it to me? She said that it's one of the ways they keep their costs down. I'm a CPA and very familiar with product and labor costing and I knew her response wasn't valid, so I asked why it costs more to email the Rx. Then she said that well mistakes can happen and that's why they don't do it. That response makes no sense as well. You simply take a scan of a written prescription which creates the digital image, and you email that image to the customer. Companies and offices have been doing this for 20 years. It's not new or special technology. In fact I saw a Brother (brand) printer/scanner in the reception area, so the investment had already been made in the technology. The vet, in a huff, retreated to the back area. At that point I decided that I would no longer patronize this office and Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM, so I rang the bell again so that I could ask the Dr. for a copy of our medical records. I rang the bell several times and there was no response. So after almost 2 minutes I walked thru the door from where Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM had previously emerged, and I asked for a copy of the medical records. Her response: "We'll email them to you." To which I responded..."so you can email the medical records but you can't email a prescription?", to which Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM angrily and loudly responded "WE JUST DON'T DO IT!". Wow. To say I was shocked and dismayed is an understatement. I have never received this type of treatment from any type of Dr office, ever. So, no doubt Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM will respond to this review and try to refute my comments so I'll address this now. She might say I was rude. I wasn't, I simply asked questions. She might say I raised my voice. I didn't, I simply asked questions in my normal tone of voice, yet she raised her voice at me. She might say I was badgering or insistent - I wasn't, I just simply asked questions to try to understand. In summary, I found that Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM's behavior toward me and my pet was unprofessional, rude, untruthful, and very disappointing. I will never return to this office. I will probably report Dr. Sherrie L. Hartke DVM to the state board. I encourage others who read the reviews here on Yelp to take notice.

First I liked that they maintained social distancing you were called in when it was your turn and it was 10 mins before my scheduled appt. The exam room was very clean and also had an antibacterial fan on. My dog Corrie was seen promptly after I was seated in the room. Her diagnosis was what I thought n needed no treatment. The vets fees are very reasonable n I inquired as to there annual fees for exam, vaccines n heart worm testing $100. I will be back in Feb for that. BELIEVE ALL THE REVIEWS STATING THAT THE DOCTOR IS RUDE BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY TRUE. Stear Clear of this place. I'll be calling BBB and anyone else that I need to in order to make sure it is well known that this doctor is just ugly to the bone. Refused service to me. I waited 30 minutes passed my appointment time. My dog was nervous and so I suggested a muzzle. I put it on my dog and waited for the vet to come in. My son was sitting on the floor petting his dog and she walks in and the first thing she says is that I need to handle my dog and not allow my child to. .. again, my son was petting his dog. So I asked her not to speak to me like that and then refused service. I wouldn't recommend this place to a dieing animal.

I live in Willis 2 minutes down the road from the vet. I called just to see if my pet had been seen there. I had major head trauma and I couldn’t and can’t remember where I took her. The staff left me on hold for 21 mins to come back on to tell me my pet had never been there. I don’t care how busy you are you should come back and tell the customer that your extremely busy and ask if I would like to continue holding or receive a call back when they were finished. She was rude. So rude! I called back and talked to another staff and told her what happened and she was even more rude . She blew me off like no big deal. I wanted to find where I last took her or take her there since they are so close and they treated me this way. I am so upset. Horrible staff! Her name was Destiny.

I've been bringing my pets here since about 2006. I've tried a couple different vets over the years (we have moved around and tried vets a little closer), but none compare to the great experiences we have had at Willis Animal Hospital. My dog actually LOVES coming to this vet and she has growled and shown fear at the others (and they were three times the price!) They're always able to squeeze us in last minute, the prices are amazing compared to many vets in the Willis/Conroe area. She even offered an animal rescue discount when my mom brought in an unexpected litter of cats to get fixed. Dr. Hartke and her staff genuinely love animals and mine all love them!

Tried to bring our dogs in as new patients and they were short and didn’t care to help. Put me on hold for a second then said they couldn’t get them in till October. Looks like elsewhere for our business. And maybe they’ll get new employees that want to help people over the phone with questions instead of cutting them off. Just my opinion

This was my first time to visit here. I dropped off our dog for a procedure. The Staff was Friendly and Helpful! It was Clean and Quiet Inside! My wife has been coming here for about 5 years and Loves it here!!!

Great people here. They neutered my service dog and did a fantastic job! He healed up very fast and was working in no time. All three of my dogs have been seen here and the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Avoid this vet!! I have used this vet recently beyond regular checkups. Recently, we decided to try with this vet again. Got a quote, did the procedure, and the Vet actually blamed us for our dog's botched procedure. He had a swelling in his ear. 2 weeks ago, we paid the procedure (which was higher than the quote!) A week after the stitches were taken out, his ear looks the exact same. Vet blamed us!! Spoke with vet herself and the correction to her misguidance and botched surgery, she wants full price to redo the operation. Be warned. Several vets in the area, suggest taking your pets elsewhere. If you read this far, the picture is the image of his ear after leaving the vet for recheck, you can clearly see the stitch scars are fresh.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They were extremely caring and empathetic when we brought our dog in for emergency care recently. It was a very difficult time for us and they made it easier to get through.

My lovely old dog’s life came to an end. Compassion, humility and honest advice is what I needed and it was certainly given to me in spades. Lovely team of staff, very clean facility.
