Advanced Pet Care of Clear Lake provides personal, quality care for our cat. Dr. Rush and her staff go out of their way to make sure our cat feels safe and is comfortable. I really appreciate the simple and hassle-free process of making an appointment, calling the office on arrival, and being personally ushered into the exam room once the room and waiting area are clear of other pets. The pheromones used in the exam room keep our cat very calm, so the exam and treatment are as stress-free as possible. We've had a great experience.

Dr. Rush and her staff consistently provide excellent care to my two cats! When one of my boys had IBD, Rush and her techs helped me out greatly with a speedy diagnosis and treatment plan, and taught me how to give my cat injections at home. Just a couple of months ago my cats needed dental work done, a major procedure that required anesthesia. I received frequent updates on their conditions, and Rush’s techs treated them as they would their own pets. There were no problems and both recovered quickly. I know very well that the staff here are personally invested in the health and comfort of their clients - my cats are leading happy and healthy lives thanks to Rush and her team. I highly recommend this clinic!

My husband told me not to return to this vet, but being very busy and wanting to give this vet another chance, I took my dog Maggie for shots and tests last Friday. Well, my husband was right, it is now Monday and Maggie has a bladder infection that, I believe, is from a urine test (or attempted test) that a technician told me was done. When I called, they denied it, said a urine test was not done and then sent me the test results for SOMEONE ELSE’s CAT. I’ve concluded that they don’t know what tests they did and moreover, THEY MADE MY DOG SICK! What is far worse, they have shown absolutely no care or compassion for my little Maggie’s health. (And we have paid thousands of $ here.) We have also had some bad history here, some examples: 1. An operation was performed on Maggie and they misfitted her so badly with a huge cone she couldn’t lift her head or walk and was moaning in pain. When we asked for the right size cone, we were chastised for daring to insist on this. They did not care one iota about the discomfort and unnecessary pain they caused Maggie. 2. Dr. Rush is incompetent with cats. One of my cats, Maria, started scratching off all her fur and clawing her skin. This vet gave us a fungicide that exacerbated the condition and said she didn’t know what else to do. I took matters in my own hands and found a fish oil supplement at a pet store and acrylic claw covers and Maria is now totally cured. Our other cat, Edward, got very sick and Dr. Rush gave him $800 worth of tests and still couldn’t diagnose the condition - Edward died a week later. 3.) The boarding is very sketchy. They told me I would get texts on my dogs’ status which I never got. Then, they lied to me about the bath/grooming that I requested, saying it was done when it wasn’t. Finally, I just didn’t believe anything that they said. With this last incident, I am not returning. What really gets me is that this vet & staff have not shown one iota of concern or care for my Maggie. All they care about is CYA and $.

I am so grateful for Dr. Rush and her staff!! I just moved to the area and was looking for a new vet for my senior cat Hugs. Hugs has some health issues and was taking medication daily that was prescribed to her by previous vets but she never seem to get better she actually seemed to be getting worse I was desperate to figure out how I can make her feel better. Dr. Rush and her team were so knowledgeable and thorough! It turned out Hugs was having a bad reaction to the medication she had been on for the past year. We stopped giving it to her and changed her food as suggested by Dr. Rush and I got my sweet, happy bossy girl back. I will forever be grateful and will continue bringing all my fur babies here!

If your looking for a great vet look no further! My baby Luna was going to a different vet, who just wasn’t helping and not listening to me when I explained something was wrong with her so I decided to switch vets and I found Advanced Pet Care saw the reviews and decided to make a appointment. All this happened amidst Covid so they were doing Curbside. They came and got Luna from me the vet tech was very friendly and was supper nice. The doctor called and explained that my suspicions were right she had a ear infection that the other Vet missed completely. They gave her medication and she’s was feeling a whole lot better. I returned when my dog was coughing/choking very badly, I captured a video attempted to send it but it never went through so the vet came outside to look at the video explained what was happening and we determined my dog had allergies. She didn’t have to come outside she could have just waited for the video but she didn’t want me waiting and I appreciated it. Fast forward to now, we’re I just added another Fur baby to our family, but first let me say look at the puppy packages because there amazing. Yesterday my baby Nova went in for her 3rd round of Shots and she just got some new shots and they explained there may be some side affects and if there is to bring her back, 15 minutes later we’re sitting at sams and Nova throws up on me. I call the Vet they ask me to bring her back. As soon as I get there they come get her take her in and start looking at her a vet tech comes out ask me if we’re going home I explain to her no that I’m going to a benefit for my niece a hour away. The tech than ask if I would like to leave her there till I return or take her with me and they would give her some medicine for the long car ride, I didn’t want to put my fur baby through a long car ride when she already felt bad. I decided to leave her there so they could look after her while I went to the benefit. It’s amazing peace of mind knowing she was being cared for. Not all vets would do that and they always go the extra mile. I highly recommend Advanced Pet Care of Clear every time I go they take care of my fur babies!

Doggie surgery was flawless, our baby healed so quickly! Dr. Rush & Dr. Dugar really know their stuff!

Provide great care. They explain everything and give estimates up front.i won't use anyone else. The staff is great.

Dr. Rush is one of the best vets I've ever encountered. She really does care about your pet. She's excellent at diagnosis and treatment. They have squeezed us in during emergencies. Staff is quick to help and super friendly. I highly recommend them!

I started coming to this vet 4 years ago simply because it was walking distance from my apartment. Currently, I am living in Arcola and I still make the drive because Dr. Rush and her staff are nothing short of amazing. They are very personable and professional. It's been 6 months since my last visit and they still remembered small details about my two huskies Yukon and Mackenzie, who were both very excited to see their friends at APC. I'm sure there are some wonderful veterinarians in my area but I'll never know because Dr. Rush is MY vet.

As a new pet owner I love how they explain everything in detail. They’re not only super friendly with my new baby but I always appreciate how kind they are to us too.

No other veterinarian can hold a candle to Dr. Billie & her phenomenal staff. Two years ago our pug, Donnie, suffered heat stroke and was severely incapacitated. A different veterinarian told us that Donnie had “a 100% chance of permanent neurological damage”, and, “to not even try” saving him, insinuating we put Donnie down. We were utterly distraught & heartbroken over this vet’s prognosis & lack of empathy. Twelve hours later we entered Dr. Billie’s office. Donnie, somewhat stable at this point, but paralyzed & unable to move anything but his eyes, was greeted by her loving staff & promptly taken back for treatment. Dr. Billie’s attitude was much more optimistic than the previous vet. She took the time to thoroughly explain the possible outcomes of Donnie’s condition and treatment & comforted us. Every time I looked over at Donnie he was constantly being loved & attended to by her staff. After a week of treatment, Donnie recovered 100%! No residual neurological symptoms! It was absolutely incredible to witness his progress. We attribute Donnie’s successful recovery to Dr. Billie and her dedicated staff. We can’t thank y’all enough! ????????????????
