They are very understanding and are very helpful with needed information. They are the best so if you need information about animal questions of any kind give them a call.

I went to this shelter on 10/7/2021 to see the adoptable dogs and I was greeted by two very sweet and knowledgeable ladies at the front desk. I was able to go into the back and see one of the puppies and even play with her in the designated yard. I instantly fell in love with her! I was worried to bring a new puppy home because I had a current dog and didn't know how she would react. Fortunately, Sugar Land Animal Services has a sleepover program where you can loan a crate from them and take the dog home for a few days to do a "trial run." She ended up getting along beautifully with my dog and I went back and adopted her on 10/10/2021! This place is AMAZING and when you adopt the dog is dewormed, neutered/spayed, and chipped! Would definitely recommend and will most likely be getting my next pup from here.

Have adopted 2 dogs from this area. They treat their pets so nice. It's unfortunate what happens to these animals but, it's great to have a shelter in your area to help find a friend.

What can I say? Major props to Sugar Land PD and Sugar Land animal control. I left work and was greeted by a stray dog last night. I brought her back to my office in hopes to find her litter so they’d all be together. I let her leash go and she took me to them. Out of 10 rescues and my city’s animal control services… Sugarland animal control was the only one to answer and provide me a solution. I have 3 rescues myself and initially posted her to share on social media. After spending most of the day outsourcing I called my vet that spent time working at Sugarland animal shelter who said they were ethical and credible. Thank you to all staff and officers involved.

Found a young Mississippi Kite at our front door with a broken wing. A young lady came and took it for treatment. Sure hope it makes it, it was so beautiful. Thanks for helping.

Very rude front desk staff. Clipped my dogs nail to the meat and mad him bleeding never apologize. The Dr came in and apologized after I expressed my concerns he also had to put some medication on it to help stop bleeding. At payout the front desk wouldn't give discount saying the services was done and then the Dr came and said he removed the fee of nail trim because it was not finished and the accident that happened. The front desk girl (Joanna, I believe she said her name was) was upset that he removed the charges. Never returning there again

I'm positive this is a fantastic organization.... But they should seriously re-evaluate the front line staff. That's got to be the most judgemental, rudest, condescending lady working the window/front desk. Definitely not the person you want to have as the "face" of your organization. Maybe a position in the back would suit her demeanor more appropriately. We came there asking for information regarding doing volunteer work for them. My 15 yo daughter were both spoken to like 3rd class citizens. Obviously We chose another shelter for our volunteer efforts. Sadly disappointed in an organization that thrives on volunteer efforts. This was 1pm 7/14/21

Went on line to confirm they were open. I am amazed at the work this group does to try to save those unwanted abandoned animals or the product of people not spaying and neutering. We bundle our newspapers to drop off to assist in anyway possible

We recently adopted a 14 week old puppy from Sugar Land Animal Services. He was picked up at niine weeks with his litter (5 of them). Looking at his medical records, he had lots of parasites and skin lesions. Despite such a rough start, and because of the excellent veterinary care and nurturing he got at Sugar Land, he was a healthy, happy, and feisty puppy when I adopted him. I want to thank them for taking such good care of this baby before we met! He is growing up fast and we are so lucky to have him!

I literally called to tell them I found a stray dog 10 Minutes from where the shelter is at, they told me it’s out of our jurisdiction and I was like are you sure? Because I found him literally 10 minutes from y’all and hung up in my face. MOST USELESS AND RUDE PEOPLE I HAVE EVER SPOKE TO. And way to help a dog in need. I was just trying to do the right thing and what do they do they hang up in my face and don’t even provide me with a number for a Shelter in jurisdictions. TALK ABOUT PITIFUL.

Its been a really hard time during this covid 19 pandemic. I love how this shelter is a no kill shelter. We adopted a dog for free due to the pandemic. I like how they walked us through on the adoption process. They asked us if we had another dog or not. And since we did, we had to bring the dog to the shelter to interact with the dog that we were going to adopt. It was a perfect match. We then had to go through the 1 week sleepover just to confirm everything would work out. Everything all worked out perfectly, and now our dog has a new friend to play with!!! ADOPT!!! DON'T SHOP!!! SAVE A LIFE!
